Hockey Club Bloemendaal (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈblumə(n)daːl]), commonly known as Bloemendaal, is a Dutch field hockey club based in Bloemendaal, North Holland. It was established on 26 April 1895, and is one of the oldest field hockey clubs in the Netherlands. Originally, the club also played bandy. HC Bloemendaal is one of the most successful clubs in the Netherlands, with the men's team competing for the title in the highest league ("Hoofdklasse") nearly every year.

Bloemendaal (pronounced [ˈblumə(n)ˌdaːl] (listen)) is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Bloemendaal is, together with Wassenaar, the wealthiest place in the Netherlands.In October 2015, after persistent problems with the local governance in Bloemendaal, the King's Commissioner of North Holland, Johan Remkes, threatened to disband the municipality if the problems were not resolved within a year. Bernt Schneiders, the mayor of Haarlem, was appointed as acting mayor of Bloemendaal.

Overveen is a village in North Holland in the Netherlands, in the municipality of Bloemendaal. Overveen lies on the eastern fringe of the North Sea dunes. To the east it borders the built-up areas of Haarlem. Its successor opened in August as "&samhoud places" in Amsterdam which has since been renamed "&moshik" after the chef.

Schoterveense Molen is a windmill in Haarlem located at Wipwatermolen Heussensstraat in the former municipality of Schoten. It is registered as a Rijksmonument. This windmill stands as silent witness to the heritage of a defunct organization called Waterschap De Schoterveenpolder, that ended in 1935. A commemorative plaque was attached in 1891 by the last directors of that organization after some maintenance work was carried out. The polder was once over 206 hectares (515 acres), but has been reduced to half an acre due to surrounding city expansion. Between 1920 and 1923 its pumping function was transferred to an electric pumping station on the Delft canal further west. This made the mill redundant, which was necessary to strip it of its "wind rights" that prevented building expansion in the neighborhood.It is situated quite close to the Huis ter Cleeff and was witness to the inquartering of the Spaniards under the Duke of Alva, which explains why the small canal next to it was called the Spanse-vaart and further towards the river Spaarne a street situated along the former route of the canal is called Spaansevaartstraat. Inspection in the 1950s brought to light some carpenters' marks in the foundations that go back to the 16th-century and as wipmolen De Stoop it was possibly built by the Spaniard troops during the siege of Haarlem.

Santpoort-Noord (Dutch pronunciation: [sɑntpoːrt noːrt]) or North Santpoort is a village in the municipality of Velsen in the Dutch province of North Holland. It lies about 6 km (3.7 mi) north of Haarlem. Santpoort developed in the dunes near the Brederode Castle. In 1870, a flower bulb settlement developed near Santpoort. In 1926, the settlement was divided in Santpoort-Noord and Santpoort-Zuid. Santpoort became a commuter's town in the 20th century.

Brederode Castle (Dutch: Kasteel Brederode), also called the Ruins of Brederode (Dutch: Ruïne van Brederode), is located near Santpoort-Zuid. The castle was founded in the second half of the 13th century by William I van Brederode (1215–1285). William was a descendant of the lords van Teylingen, who were related to the counts of Holland. The castle formed part of the high lordship Brederode, which had been given in loan in the 13th century to the lords of Brederode by the count of Holland. The name Brederode is a reference to a wooded area called Brede Roede (literally: broad wood), that was cleared and on which the castle was built. The castle was at first not more than a tower, but around 1300 Dirk II van Brederode had the tower pulled down and replaced with a proper castle.

Santpoort-Zuid or South Santpoort is a village in the municipality of Velsen in the Dutch province of North Holland. It lies to the west of North Haarlem (Schoten). Santpoort-Zuid is bordered by the village of Bloemendaal to the south and the village of Santpoort-Noord to the north. There is a railway station in the village with a connection to Amsterdam Centraal station. The village is an upscale neighborhood with Dutch professionals residing there. It is one of the rare coastal forested areas protected by large dunes.
