't Brouwerskolkje is a defunct restaurant located in Overveen, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 2006–2008 and two Michelin stars in the period 2009–2012. GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 18.0 out of 20 points.The head chef was Moshik Roth.Restaurant 't Brouwerskolkje was a member of Les Patrons Cuisiniers.The restaurant closed 14 April 2012. Its successor opened in August as "&samhoud places" in Amsterdam which has since been renamed "&moshik" after the chef.

Overveen is a village in North Holland in the Netherlands, in the municipality of Bloemendaal. Overveen lies on the eastern fringe of the North Sea dunes. To the east it borders the built-up areas of Haarlem. A few kilometres to the west of the town lies the Erebegraafplaats Bloemendaal (Honorary Cemetery), where many Second World War victims have been reburied, including resistance fighter Hannie Schaft, sculptor and resistance leader Gerrit van der Veen, banker and resistance member Walraven van Hall, Physician and former Wehrmacht officer Karl Groeger, and sculptor and resistance member Johan Limpers. The town is connected to rail service by the Overveen railway station which opened in 1881 on the Haarlem to Zandvoort railway line.

Thijsse's Hof (The garden of Thijsse) is a wildlife garden in Bloemendaal, the Netherlands. It was created in 1925 on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Jac. P. Thijsse, naturalist and nature conservationist. It is the oldest wildlife garden in the Netherlands, and one of the oldest of Europe, and in the world. In Thijsse's Hof about 800 species of native plants can be found in South Kennemerland, the region in which Bloemendaal is situated. Most of the plants are grown in natural vegetations. The garden is also a home for many birds. Its full name is Thijsse's Hof; planten- en vogeltuin in het Bloemendaalsche Bosch (Garden of Thijsse : garden for plants and birds in the Bloemendaal Wood).

Elswout is a historical buitenplaats (summer residence) dating from the 19th century in a park by the same name in Overveen, Netherlands.

Kraantje Lek is a pancake restaurant and former inn in Overveen, Netherlands, on the Duinlustweg. It was originally built in 1542 as herberg Rockaers, or "inn of Rockaers", as Rockaers was the former name of the village of Overveen. It was strategically located at the base of a dune referred to as the "Blinkert", often used by sports teams in the area for training purposes. The Visserspad or "fishermen's path" passes it on the north side. The location was used as a place for fish sellers to stop on their way to and from Zandvoort on their way to the fish market on the Grote Markt, Haarlem. In more recent times the location is a pancake restaurant with a playground favored by families and it features in Nicolas Beets' stories of Haarlem in his Camera Obscura. Many children played in the Holle boom, or "hollow tree", located outside and memorialized in bronze today. According to local legend, Frans Hals painted his fisher folk here and his portrait of Yonker Ramp and his sweetheart was painted inside in 1623. The painting, now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, was on loan to the Frans Hals Museum for their jubileum exhibition on Frans Hals in 1937. In 1805 the Amsterdam banker Willem Borski and his wife Johanna Borski bought Kraantje Lek for 65,000 guilders from Jacob Boreel, as part of the Elswout estate, together with the Blinkert and the large area of dunes behind it bordering on the Visserspad known as the "Zwarte veld", which was used as hunting grounds.

The Hofje van Codde en Beresteyn is a hofje in Haarlem, Netherlands. The current building is from 1968 and is located on the J. Cuyperstraat, which is named for the architect who designed the Cathedral of Saint Bavo next door, Joseph Cuypers. This hofje is the wealthiest hofje foundation in Haarlem with the most modern facilities for its inhabitants. Poor (devote) Catholic women of Haarlem 60 years and older are still welcome to live there for free.

The Cathedral of Saint Bavo is a cathedral in Haarlem, the Netherlands, built by Joseph Cuypers from 1895 to 1930 to replace the former waterstaatskerk in the Jansstraat called the St. Joseph. That church was itself a replacement for the Sint-Bavokerk, that had been converted to Protestantism from Catholicism in 1578. The Cathedral of Saint Bavo now serves as the main cathedral for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Haarlem-Amsterdam. Within the cathedral, the former sacristy has been converted into a small museum (schatkamer) containing historical artefacts from Haarlem's Catholic past.

Hockey Club Bloemendaal (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈblumə(n)daːl]), commonly known as Bloemendaal, is a Dutch field hockey club based in Bloemendaal, North Holland. It was established on 26 April 1895, and is one of the oldest field hockey clubs in the Netherlands. Originally, the club also played bandy. HC Bloemendaal is one of the most successful clubs in the Netherlands, with the men's team competing for the title in the highest league ("Hoofdklasse") nearly every year.

Chapeau! is a defunct restaurant located in Bloemendaal in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 2003–2011. In 2012, the restaurant was rewarded two Michelin stars. The retained the two stars until its closure. GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16.0 out of 20 points.Last head chef was Jan Sobecky. Former head chefs that earned Michelin stars with Chapeau! were Roland Veldhuizen (2003–2005) and Jeroen Granemann (2005–2009). The restaurant closed down on 1 August 2016.Chapeau! was a member of Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise.

Patronaat is one of the 10 largest alternative pop music halls in the Netherlands and was established in 1984. It is located at the Zijlsingel in Haarlem, near the city center. In 2003 the old building was replaced with a brand new concert hall, which was being used for the first time in 2005. Between September 2003 until May 2005 a temporary location at the Oostvest functioned as Haarlem's concert hall. The new building was designed by architect Paul Diederen of the architecture firm Diederen Dirriox Architecten of Eindhoven. The building's capacity was significantly increased with a large hall for 1000 visitors, a second one for some 350 guests and a music bar for 100 people, which has live music three days in the week, free of admission. A total of 500 events is organised every year, for some 140.000 people. With a strong program and a character of its own Patronaat provides progressive pop music and meets the wishes of its catchment. Over the years artists like Willy DeVille, Solomon Burke, Tori Amos, Dick Dale, Herman Brood, Living Colour, Bo Diddley, dEUS, Zita Swoon, Gabriel Rios, Rickie Lee Jones, The Gutter Twins, Steve Lukather, José Feliciano, Babyshambles, Calexico, Michael Franti & Spearhead, but also heavy acts like Limp Bizkit, Anthrax, The Bloodhound Gang, Marillion, The Misfits, Danko Jones, Soulfly, Therapy?, New Model Army, Y&T, Neurosis, Cradle of Filth, Obituary, D.R.I., Helmet, Dimmu Borgir and Deicide, as well as large names in the electronic music world like Paul Kalkbrenner, Dave Clarke, Knife Party, Steve Aoki, Modeselektor, Jeff Mills, James Holden, DJ Hell, Orbital, Leftfield, Battles, Pendulum, Chase & Status, Nero, Camo & Krooked, Andy C, Sub Focus, Aphrodite, Ed Rush, Benga, Skream, Caspa and Rusko have found their way to the Haarlem venue.
