Sherwood Colliery F.C. is an English football club based in Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. They are currently members of the United Counties League Premier Division North. The club is a FA Charter Standard Club affiliated to the Nottinghamshire County Football Association. The club's nickname is The Wood.

The Church of St Edmund (also known as St Edmund's or St Edmund King & Martyr) is on Old Manor Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, England. It is an active Church of England parish church in the deanery of Mansfield, the Archdeaconry of Newark, and the Southwell and Nottingham diocese. Its benefice has two churches, St Edmund’s is the main parish church, also the Church of St Chad, Pleasley Vale. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.St Edmund's Church is partnered with nearby St Edmund's C of E Primary School. In the 1980s the school moved to its current site at Church Hill Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse. The original building, on Welbeck Road leading down from the church, still stands and is Grade II listed. The Turner Memorial Hall, opposite the church on Church Street, serves as St Edmund's church hall and office, as well as being a community centre and the headquarters of St Edmund's scout group.

Mansfield Woodhouse is a settlement about 1.2 miles (2 km) north of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, England, along the main A60 road in a wide, low valley between the Rivers Maun and Meden. Founded before the Roman Empire, it is noteworthy for its stone-built centre. Originally separate with its own urban district council, after continuous development it has become a large part of the Mansfield Urban Area. After the Local Government Act 1972, Mansfield Woodhouse and Warsop Urban District Councils merged with the Municipal Borough of Mansfield on 1 April 1974, to form a new local government area known as Mansfield District Council. Mansfield Woodhouse's economy was traditionally based on the quarrying, mining, farming and textile industries.

Nottinghamshire or North and East Nottinghamshire will be a unitary authority area in the ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire, England. It is planned to be formed on 1 April 2028, with elections to a shadow authority taking place in May 2027. It will largely cover Nottinghamshire outside of the Nottingham Urban Area, and its largest settlement will be Mansfield. Other settlements include Kirkby, Newark-on-Trent, Retford, Southwell, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Worksop. In the south it includes Hucknall, an outlying part of the Nottingham Urban Area. The area had an estimated population of 561,213 in 2023. It will be formed from the existing two-tier districts of Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Mansfield, Newark and Sherwood and portions of the existing districts of Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe. The remaining portions of those districts will, with Nottingham itself, form the Greater Nottingham unitary authority. It is being formed as part of ongoing local government changes throughout England, in which all areas of the country that have separate county councils and district councils will see those replaced with single-tier, or unitary, local governance. The two alternative proposals for two unitaries in the Nottinghamshire and Nottingham area were not accepted. East Retford, Hucknall, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Worksop are currently unparished, the rest of the area is parished.

Mansfield District is a local government district in Nottinghamshire, England. Its council is based in the town of Mansfield. The district is bounded by the districts of Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood and Gedling, as well as the Derbyshire districts of Bolsover and North East Derbyshire. It is also part of the Mansfield urban area.

St Philip Neri Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. It was founded by Edward Bagshawe, Bishop of Nottingham. It was built from 1924 to 1925 and designed by Charles A. Edeson and was influenced by Brompton Oratory, where Bishop Bagshawe formerly served. It is located on Chesterfield Road South to the north of the town centre. It is in the Italian Baroque style and is a Grade II listed building.

The Manor Academy is a co-educational secondary school with academy status in Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, overseen by and part of The Two Counties Trust.

A Spire for Mansfield, also shortened to A-Spire is a 13-metre (42.7-foot) sculpture, which lies within the centre of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. It was officially endorsed by the former local mayor Tony Egginton and Mansfield District Council. The sculpture was installed in late 2007, as the third piece of artwork for public art in Mansfield and appears as a large metallic feather. The sculpture was created by two artists; Wolfgang Buttress and Heron, and was intended to mark the legacy of local coal mining, the canaries once taken underground, Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, and Mansfield's engineering traditions.The tines of the feather were cut by laser from 3mm stainless steel and were meant to "capture the breeze" and allow the sculpture to gently sway, portraying the branches of a tree. The highly polished stainless steel aimed to reflect the light and act as "a counterpart to the surrounding trees".

All Saints' Catholic Academy (formerly All Saints RC School) is a Roman Catholic secondary school in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. It is the only Catholic secondary school in the district, with a capacity for over 1,000 students. The school is allied to St. Philip Neri with St. Bede's Catholic Voluntary Academy for younger pupils aged 3–11 years.

St. John's Church, Mansfield is a parish church in the Church of England located in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The church is Grade II listed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as it is a building of special architectural or historic interest.The wall and gate piers to the churchyard are also Grade II listed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

The Brunts Academy, a large secondary school in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England, is a member of the Greenwood Academies Trust. The school specialises in the performing arts. It has previously been a grammar school and a secondary technical school and traces its foundation to a bequest by Samuel Brunt in 1709. The Brunts School became The Brunts Academy with effect from 1 January 2012. The Brunts Academy became a part of the Greenwood Academies Trust and left the Evolve Trust, effective 1 December 2022

Carr Bank Park is a public park situated off Windmill Lane in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. It is managed and maintained by Mansfield District Council. In 2023 the park was granted the Green Flag Award.
