The Church of St Edmund (also known as St Edmund's or St Edmund King & Martyr) is on Old Manor Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, England. It is an active Church of England parish church in the deanery of Mansfield, the Archdeaconry of Newark, and the Southwell and Nottingham diocese. Its benefice has two churches, St Edmund’s is the main parish church, also the Church of St Chad, Pleasley Vale. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.St Edmund's Church is partnered with nearby St Edmund's C of E Primary School. In the 1980s the school moved to its current site at Church Hill Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse. The original building, on Welbeck Road leading down from the church, still stands and is Grade II listed. The Turner Memorial Hall, opposite the church on Church Street, serves as St Edmund's church hall and office, as well as being a community centre and the headquarters of St Edmund's scout group.

Mansfield Woodhouse is a settlement about 1.2 miles (2 km) north of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, England, along the main A60 road in a wide, low valley between the Rivers Maun and Meden. Founded before the Roman Empire, it is noteworthy for its stone-built centre. Originally separate with its own urban district council, after continuous development it has become a large part of the Mansfield Urban Area. After the Local Government Act 1972, Mansfield Woodhouse and Warsop Urban District Councils merged with the Municipal Borough of Mansfield on 1 April 1974, to form a new local government area known as Mansfield District Council. Mansfield Woodhouse's economy was traditionally based on the quarrying, mining, farming and textile industries.

Mansfield Woodhouse railway station serves the settlement of Mansfield Woodhouse, which adjoins the town of Mansfield, both located in Nottinghamshire, England. The station is on the Robin Hood Line between Nottingham and Worksop. It was originally closed in 1964 but was reopened in 1995.

The Brunts Academy, a large secondary school in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England, is a member of the Greenwood Academies Trust. The school specialises in the performing arts. It has previously been a grammar school and a secondary technical school and traces its foundation to a bequest by Samuel Brunt in 1709. The Brunts School became The Brunts Academy with effect from 1 January 2012. The Brunts Academy became a part of the Greenwood Academies Trust and left the Evolve Trust, effective 1 December 2022

Sherwood Colliery F.C. is an English football club based in Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. They are currently members of the United Counties League Premier Division North. The club is a FA Charter Standard Club affiliated to the Nottinghamshire County Football Association. The club's nickname is The Wood.

Mansfield District is a local government district in Nottinghamshire, England. Its council is based in the town of Mansfield. The district is bounded by the districts of Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood and Gedling, as well as the Derbyshire districts of Bolsover and North East Derbyshire. It is also part of the Mansfield urban area.

The John Fretwell Sporting Complex is a cricket ground located at Nettleworth near Market Warsop in Warsop parish, Nottinghamshire, England. The ground, which also has facilities for football and bowls, is the home of Welbeck Cricket Club and has been used by Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club for some List A fixtures since 2015. The ground was developed by retired local businessman John Fretwell, a former Welbeck cricketer who wanted to create a new facility for the local community. Welbeck Colliery Cricket Club — as they were then known — were felt to have outgrown the facilities at their Welbeck Abbey ground in Market Warsop. Fretwell identified a site on farmland off Sookholme Road where the new complex was constructed in 2006. Welbeck Colliery began to play at the ground from the beginning of the 2007 season.Part of Fretwell's vision for the ground was to bring county cricket back to the north of Nottinghamshire, which was achieved in 2015. Prior to then, Nottinghamshire had not played a home match anywhere other than Trent Bridge since 2004, and not at another ground in their own county since 1998. The inaugural "Welbeck Weekender" took place in July 2015, with Royal London One-Day Cup matches on consecutive days against Warwickshire and Glamorgan. in July 2016, Nottinghamshire faced Derbyshire in the same competition. Nottinghamshire have also used the ground for Second XI fixtures several times since 2008. Nottinghamshire Women played their first Women's County Championship match at Welbeck in 2009 and have used the ground regularly since 2013.

The Palace Theatre in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England first opened in 1910 as a cinema. It was later converted to a live theatre, which has been its primary function ever since. The theatre was completely renovated and refurbished in the 1990s and now stages a varied programme of events including dance, drama and music. It is a popular receiving house for one night shows. The theatre is owned and operated by Mansfield District Council.

Sookholme is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Warsop in the Mansfield district of western Nottinghamshire, England. It is 120 miles (190 km) north west of London, 16+3⁄4 miles (27.0 km) north of the county town and city of Nottingham, and 3+1⁄2 miles (5.6 km) north of the town of Mansfield. It retains an agricultural character, having been largely unaffected by the Industrial Revolution, which had a transformative impact on the settlement pattern and built form of numerous other settlements situated within the North Midlands coalfields. Whilst relatively close to the built up areas of Mansfield and Shirebrook, Sookholme is remote and rural. In 1931 the parish had a population of 210.

Mansfield Museum is a local authority museum run by the council in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The brainchild of William Edward Baily, a wealthy local collector and natural historian, the museum opened in 1904 after Baily offered his collection and a building, the 'Tin Tabernacle', to Mansfield.
