St John's Church, Mansfield

St Philip Neri Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. It was founded by Edward Bagshawe, Bishop of Nottingham. It was built from 1924 to 1925 and designed by Charles A. Edeson and was influenced by Brompton Oratory, where Bishop Bagshawe formerly served. It is located on Chesterfield Road South to the north of the town centre. It is in the Italian Baroque style and is a Grade II listed building.

A Spire for Mansfield, also shortened to A-Spire is a 13-metre (42.7-foot) sculpture, which lies within the centre of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. It was officially endorsed by the former local mayor Tony Egginton and Mansfield District Council. The sculpture was installed in late 2007, as the third piece of artwork for public art in Mansfield and appears as a large metallic feather. The sculpture was created by two artists; Wolfgang Buttress and Heron, and was intended to mark the legacy of local coal mining, the canaries once taken underground, Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, and Mansfield's engineering traditions.The tines of the feather were cut by laser from 3mm stainless steel and were meant to "capture the breeze" and allow the sculpture to gently sway, portraying the branches of a tree. The highly polished stainless steel aimed to reflect the light and act as "a counterpart to the surrounding trees".

Mansfield railway station is a railway station which serves the town of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, England. Alternatively it is named Mansfield Town, to distinguish itself from the GCR's former Mansfield Central and Mansfield Woodhouse's station. The station is 17 miles (27 km) north of Nottingham on the Robin Hood Line, and is managed by East Midlands Railway. The station building is Grade II listed.

Nottinghamshire or North and East Nottinghamshire will be a unitary authority area in the ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire, England. It is planned to be formed on 1 April 2028, with elections to a shadow authority taking place in May 2027. It will largely cover Nottinghamshire outside of the Nottingham Urban Area, and its largest settlement will be Mansfield. Other settlements include Kirkby, Newark-on-Trent, Retford, Southwell, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Worksop. In the south it includes Hucknall, an outlying part of the Nottingham Urban Area. The area had an estimated population of 561,213 in 2023. It will be formed from the existing two-tier districts of Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Mansfield, Newark and Sherwood and portions of the existing districts of Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe. The remaining portions of those districts will, with Nottingham itself, form the Greater Nottingham unitary authority. It is being formed as part of ongoing local government changes throughout England, in which all areas of the country that have separate county councils and district councils will see those replaced with single-tier, or unitary, local governance. The two alternative proposals for two unitaries in the Nottinghamshire and Nottingham area were not accepted. East Retford, Hucknall, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Worksop are currently unparished, the rest of the area is parished.

The Robin Hood Line is a railway line running from Nottingham to Worksop, Nottinghamshire, in England. The stations between Shirebrook and Whitwell (inclusive) are in the county of Derbyshire. Passenger services are operated by East Midlands Railway. The line in its present form opened to passengers in stages between 1993 and 1998. Following the Beeching cuts of the 1960s, the line had been freight-only. The cuts had left Mansfield as one of the largest towns in Britain without a railway station.

The town lies in the Maun Valley, 12 miles (19 km) north of Nottingham. It had a population of 110,500 at the 2021 census, according to the Office for National Statistics. Mansfield is the one local authority in Nottinghamshire with a publicly elected mayor.

Mansfield Railway Viaduct is a Grade II listed viaduct in the town centre of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The 15-arch viaduct is 188 yd (172 m) long and was built for Midland Railway's 1875 Mansfield to Worksop Line.

The Mansfield Urban Area is a built-up area of Nottinghamshire, England. Which comprises the towns of Mansfield, Sutton in Ashfield, and Kirkby in Ashfield. It also includes the settlement of Mansfield Woodhouse and the village of Newstead. As well as the village of New Houghton in Derbyshire. The 2011 census gives the total population of the area as 171,958 making it the 37th most populated urban area in England. The population has increased 9% from the 2001 census population of 158,114.
