St Michael's Church, Romford Road

Little Ilford is a district of London, England in the London Borough of Newham and the name of a ward in that borough.Little Ilford is now usually referred to as Manor Park.

Manor Park is a residential area of the London Borough of Newham in east London, England. The area is bordered by Ilford to the east, Forest Gate to the west, Wanstead to the north, and East Ham to the south. It was originally a part of the hundred of Becontree, and part of the historic county of Essex. Since 1965, Manor Park has been part of the London Borough of Newham, a local government district of Greater London. The area forms the majority of the London E12 postcode district.

St Stephen's Church, Little Ilford is the Roman Catholic parish church for Little Ilford and Manor Park, two areas in Newham, east London. It was first built in 1924 as a chapel to St Nicholas', Manor Park. St Stephen's was rebuilt in 1959 and became the parish church, with St Nicholas' as its chapel, the status both churches still hold today.

St Mary's Church is a Church of England church in Little Ilford, east London. Mainly 12th century, it had its chancel rebuilt and a south porch and family chapel to the Lethieullier family added in 1724. It remained a parish church until 1938, at which point it became a chapel of ease to St Michael's Church, Romford Road. It is listed at Grade I.

Little Ilford School is a coeducational secondary school located in Little Ilford in the London Borough of Newham in London, United Kingdom. It enrolled 1434 students and has been described by Ofsted as outstanding in their last inspection in 2012.

The Earl of Essex is a Grade II listed public house at 616 Romford Road, Manor Park, London.It was built in 1902 by the architects Henry Poston and William Edward Trent.The pub has been closed since 2012, and as of April 2016, it is hoped to reopen in the near future.

Manor Park railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line serving Manor Park in the London Borough of Newham, east London. It is 6 miles 20 chains (10.1 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Forest Gate and Ilford. Its three-letter station code is MNP and it is in Travelcard Zone 3/4. It is currently managed by Transport for London and is on the Elizabeth line between Shenfield and London Paddington. Manor Park is a short walk from Woodgrange Park on the Gospel Oak to Barking line, and an out-of-station interchange is available one stop to the west, at Forest Gate, for Wanstead Park.

The City of London Cemetery and Crematorium is a cemetery and crematorium in the east of London. It is owned and operated by the City of London Corporation. It is designated Grade I on the Historic England National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. Anyone can be interred at the City of London Cemetery irrespective of city connections or religious beliefs. The cemetery reuses graves which have not been used for more than 75 years, and which are known to have depth for at least two more burials. English Heritage has listed many burial grounds and says it has no objection to the reuse of graves in principle, as long as heritage is protected.

St Barnabas is an Anglican parish church in Manor Park, London, built in the Gothic Revival style. It was designed by Ninian Comper in partnership with William Bucknall and built to serve the new residential neighbourhood of Manor Park. It is Grade II listed.Building began in 1900 and was completed in 1909. The church is built from red brick with stone copings and window tracery. It has a triple-gabled west front, and arched buttresses along the north side. The interior has late-gothic style windows and measured arches in the nave. It includes two 'Comper angel' candle sconces, distinctive door handles and locks, a carved stone font, 17th century pulpit, and 16th century bell. The stained glass window was added by Comper in 1954 and features his signature strawberry motif.A process of structural restoration was completed in 2016. This was funded by various bodies including the Heritage Lottery Fund and English Heritage (now Historic England). Prior to this, it was on the Heritage at Risk Register.During the 1970s initial planning meetings for Crisis at Christmas were held in a room in the vicarage, and the church was used as a night shelter. Today, St Barnabas is located in one of the most multi-ethnic and culturally diverse parishes in the United Kingdom. The church is used for traditional services and social events, and by community groups reflecting the diversity of the area.

The Alders Brook is a small tributary of the River Roding. The name derives from Middle English meaning "brook where alders grow" and is first recorded in 1535; previously it was the site of a farmstead known as Nakethalle or Nagethalle, literally "naked hall", alluding not to a building but to an exposed or unoccupied enclosure. It now marks part of the boundary between the London Boroughs of Newham and Redbridge, with the west bank in the parish of Little Ilford and the east bank in that of Great Ilford. It gave its name to the Aldersbrook area, the Manor of Aldersbrook and the Aldersbrook Estate.

Browning Road was the home ground of London football club Thames Ironworks, the team that would become West Ham United, towards the end of the 1896–97 season. Thames Ironworks had been handed an eviction notice from their previous Hermit Road ground in October 1896 for violating their tenancy agreement and had to play their next four fixtures at the grounds of their opponents, until Thames' chairman Arnold Hills managed to lease a temporary piece of land for the team, located at Browning Road, East Ham. Thames' first game at their new home came on 6 March 1897 in a 3–2 win over Ilford. However, the new situation was not ideal, as explained by future Ironworks player and West Ham United manager Syd King in his 1906 book: For some reason, not altogether explained, the local public at this place did not take kindly to them and the records show that Browning Road was a wilderness both in the manner of luck and support." With the club's presence never likely to be permanent, chairman Arnold Hills earmarked a large piece of land in Canning Town and would eventually spend £20,000 on the construction of the Memorial Grounds. On 8 April 1897 came not only Thames Ironworks' last game of the season but their last game at Browning Road. The game against Barking Woodville ended 1–1.
