Manor Park railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line serving Manor Park in the London Borough of Newham, east London. It is 6 miles 20 chains (10.1 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Forest Gate and Ilford. Its three-letter station code is MNP and it is in Travelcard Zone 3/4. It is currently managed by Transport for London and is on the Elizabeth line between Shenfield and London Paddington. It was set up around 1880 in an iron mission church (within the parish of Emmanuel Church) to meet the development of the Woodgrange Estate. This was replaced by a parish of its own with a permanent church in the Early English style on Romford Road in 1886.

The A118 is a road in east London, England which links Bow Interchange with Gallows Corner in Romford via Stratford and Ilford. The section from Bow Interchange to Gallows Corner formed the original route of the A12 until the designation was transferred to the Eastern Avenue soon after the latter opened in 1925. Parts of the route have an even older pedigree, forming the Camulodunum (Colchester) to Londinium (London) extension of the Pye Road.Recently, the A118 was extended westwards from its former terminus at Stratford to Bow, taking over the former A11 Stratford High Street when the A12 extension opened in 1999. Thus 70 years after the Eastern Avenue was built, the A12 finally by-passed the whole of the A118, unlike the situation previously, where the A12 ended on the A11 due north of Stratford at Leytonstone. The road is known as Romford Road for much its length in the London Borough of Newham, High Road while in the London Borough of Redbridge and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and London Road while in the London Borough of Havering. A final section linking Romford with Gallows Corner is known as Main Road. The path of the road has been altered to bypass Ilford and Romford town centres. The road is served by London Buses route 86 for most its length with other routes serving various sections. The same route is also followed by part of the Great Eastern Main Line.

The area is bordered by Ilford to the east, Forest Gate to the west, Wanstead to the north, and East Ham to the south. It was originally a part of the hundred of Becontree, and part of the historic county of Essex. Since 1965, Manor Park has been part of the London Borough of Newham, a local government district of Greater London. The area forms the majority of the London E12 postcode district.

Plashet is a locality of East Ham in the London Borough of Newham in East London located between West Ham (Upton Park) and Manor Park. It contains Plashet Jewish Cemetery, Plashet Park, and several places of worship.The area was home to prison reformer Elizabeth Fry, who lived in Plashet House from 1809 to 1829, and also her daughter Katherine who lived in Plashet Cottage. Both of these properties were demolished in the 1880s to make way for the terraced streets that now characterise the area.Steve Marriott lead singer of the Small Faces was born at East Ham Memorial Hospital located in the Plashet area. The poet Benjamin Zephaniah has also lived in Plashet.

St Michael's Church is a Church of England parish church on the Romford Road in Manor Park, east London. It originated in an 1894 mission hall opened on the Romford Road by St Mary's Church, Little Ilford. Initially housed in an iron church, St Michael's moved into a red-brick permanent church by Charles Spooner whose nave and aisles were completed in 1898 and its chancel in 1906. St Michael's became a separate mission district in 1928 under a priest-in-charge, answerable to a bishop, before taking over as the area's parish church in 1939, with St Mary's as its chapel of ease.This Victorian building was later closed, demolished and replaced by a smaller church on the same site as part of the Froud Centre. It serves the parish of St Michael & All Angels, joint with St Mary the Virgin, Little Ilford. As of 2021, the parish priest is Father Lee Taylor.

The City of London Cemetery and Crematorium is a cemetery and crematorium in the east of London. It is owned and operated by the City of London Corporation. It is designated Grade I on the Historic England National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. Anyone can be interred at the City of London Cemetery irrespective of city connections or religious beliefs. The cemetery reuses graves which have not been used for more than 75 years, and which are known to have depth for at least two more burials. English Heritage has listed many burial grounds and says it has no objection to the reuse of graves in principle, as long as heritage is protected.
