Global University is a web-based correspondence Christian university based in Springfield, Missouri, founded in 2000 by a merger of the former ICI University and Berean University. It is affiliated with the Assemblies of God, and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.Global University offers distance education in the Pentecostal tradition. Its three main languages of instruction are English, Spanish and French for undergraduate programs. Four schools comprise Global University: School for Evangelism and Discipleship, Berean School of the Bible, Undergraduate School of Bible and Theology and Graduate School of Theology.

Edward M. and Della C. Wilhoit House is a historic home located at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. It was built in 1916, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, rectangular Georgian Revival style brick dwelling. It features a one-story gabled-roof portico with a triangular pediment supported by limestone pilasters and columns with Tuscan order capitals and a sun porch. Also on the property is he contributing one-story, three-bay brick garage. It was built by Edward M. Wilhoit, who also built the E. M. Wilhoit Building.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Rountree is a neighborhood in central Springfield, Missouri. The neighborhood's borders are marked by Missouri State University to the west, Glenstone Avenue to the east, Catalpa Street to the south, and Cherry Street to the north. Rountree is predominantly residential, but is home to several popular restaurants, bakeries, and other businesses. The majority of homes in Rountree were constructed during the 1910s and 1920s. Architecture in the neighborhood is diverse, with many examples of Craftsman, Foursquare, and Federalist styles. Rountree, like other neighborhoods in central Springfield, is markedly more liberal in its voting patterns than other parts of the city. This may be due to its close proximity to the Missouri State University campus. The neighborhood's name derives from the N.M. Rountree Elementary School, located within the neighborhood on Grand Street. The school, in turn, is named the founder of the historic Keet-Rountree store in Springfield. The neighborhood hosts annual Fourth of July and Halloween parades that draw hundreds from around the city. Rountree is regularly ranked by 417 Magazine as among Springfield's best neighborhoods.

The Walnut Street Historic District is a national historic district located in Springfield, Missouri, United States. The district encompasses more than 150 one and two story frame, brick, cast-stone, or stone dwellings in a thirteen block area. The district includes parts of East Walnut Street, East Elm Street, East McDaniel Street, Cordova Court, South Hampton Avenue, South Florence Avenue, and South National Avenue. The district developed between about 1870 and 1940, with 21 buildings surviving from before 1900, and 59 buildings dating between 1901 and 1910.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, with a boundary decrease in 2001 and boundary increase in 2002.

Ambassador Apartments is a historic apartment building located at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. It was built in 1928, and is a four-story Commercial Block apartment building with a flat roof, red brick walls and simple Tudor style stone accents. The building houses 33 studio and one bedroom apartments. Also on the property is a contributing small ceramic block garage built about 1933.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Rail Haven Motel, also known as Rail Haven Motor Court, is a historic traveler's accommodation located at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. It was built in 1938 and enlarged in 1957. It is an L-shaped motel complex that includes two Nine Unit Motel Buildings, Laundry, a 16 Unit Motel Building (1950), Original Laundry (1950), Office (1953), three Multiple Unit Motel Buildings (1938, c. 1957), the Thirty Unit Motel Building (1957), Swimming Pool and Pool House (1958), and Three Unit Motel Building (c. 1957).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. Today it operates as a Best Western franchise.

Missouri State University (MSU or MO State), formerly Southwest Missouri State University, is a public university in Springfield, Missouri. Founded in 1905 as the Fourth District Normal School, it is the state's second largest university by enrollment, with an enrollment of 23,307 at its main campus in the fall semester of 2022. The school also operates a campus in West Plains, Missouri offering associate degrees, which had an enrollment of 1,744 in the fall semester of 2022. A bachelor's degree in business is offered at Liaoning Normal University in China. The university also operates a fruit research station in Mountain Grove, Missouri and a Department of Defense and Strategic Studies program in Fairfax, Virginia.
