BlueSky was the first charter school in Minnesota to be completely online, following on from Mindquest, which was the first online public high school. When BlueSky opened, a law was passed that made online schools have to spend at least two days per week in a traditional classroom with a teacher, but BlueSky was already completely online so it was allowed to stay. The law was later repealed. In June 2005, BlueSky had its first graduating class. Seventeen students graduated, and two graduation ceremonies were held: one in Bloomington for students from the metro area, and one in International Falls for students from the northern part of Minnesota. In January 2006, BlueSky held a mid-year graduation ceremony in Saint Paul for seven students that had finished their graduation requirements at the end of the first semester.

Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center (commonly referred to as TCO Performance Center) is a 40-acre sports complex located in Eagan, Minnesota. Its main use is as the Minnesota Vikings' headquarters and practice facility. The facility includes a 6,000-seat outdoor stadium known as TCO Stadium, in addition to a fully-enclosed indoor practice field and several outdoor natural and synthetic turf practice fields. TCO Performance Center also features player position meeting rooms and team auditorium; expanded locker room, weight room and equipment facilities. Along with state of the art cardiovascular and specialized speed rooms, a hydrotherapy room, and post-workout recovery rooms; a broadcast studio and media center; and administrative offices for Vikings staff.

Visitation School, also known as Visitation or Vis, is an independent, all-girls, Roman Catholic, college-preparatory, school in Minnesota. It is located in Mendota Heights near Saint Paul. Visitation is a coeducational school for grades Montessori PreK-grade 5, and all-girls for grades 6-12. Visitation is the only all-girls secondary school in Minnesota. A brother school, Saint Thomas Academy, is located across the street and many classes and after school activities involve both schools. Depending on the sport or activity, some of its rival schools are Cretin-Derham Hall, Breck School, St. Paul Academy and Summit School, and The Blake School.

Pickerel Lake is a lake in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is an Oxbow lake of the Mississippi River in Lilydale, Minnesota. The Omaha Road Bridge Number 15 crosses the Northeastern end. Pickerel Lake was named for the pickerel fish, commonly known as the Northern pike, native to its waters.

Saint Thomas Academy (abbr. STA), originally known as St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary and formerly known as St. Thomas Military Academy, is the only all male, Roman Catholic, college-preparatory, military high school in Minnesota. It is located in Mendota Heights near Saint Paul. The Academy has a middle school (grades 6-8) and a high school (grades 9-12). The high school students are required to participate in military leadership classes, as the school was previously part of Army JROTC. Its sister school, Convent of the Visitation, is located across the street. Many classes and after school activities involve both schools. It is located within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.

Rogers Lake is a lake in Dakota County, in the U.S. state of Minnesota.Rogers Lake was named for E. G. Rogers, a pioneer farmer who settled there.Wagon Wheel Trail divides the two sections of the lake (the northern is sometimes referred to as "Mendakota Lake") which are connected by a culvert (a popular fishing spot). The south shore is occupied by Saint Thomas Academy and the Patterson Companies headquarters. Interstate 35E is routed along the western shore. A paved trail runs between 35E and the lake, from Mendota Heights Road to Rogers Lake Parm. The park is located on the northwest corner of the lower lake, and is a popular area for fishing and skateboarding in the summer. Mendakota Country Club surrounds the northern section. The remainder of the shoreline is occupied by private homes and accompanying land.
