SouthPark Mall (Charlotte, North Carolina)

SouthPark is an area edge city in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Its name is derived from the upscale SouthPark Mall, which opened on February 12, 1970. At nearly 1.8 million square feet, SouthPark Mall is the largest shopping mall in Charlotte and all of North Carolina. The area is geographically centered at the intersection of Fairview Road and Sharon Road in the south central sector of the city, about six miles south of Uptown Charlotte. In addition to being home to the mall, SouthPark is also a residential area and one of the larger business districts in Charlotte. SouthPark is typical of the mixed-use developments found in many larger cities.

SouthPark Church formerly known as Sharon United Methodist Church, is a Christian Church in the Methodist Denomination located in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The church was famous for its "ski slope" arch in the front part of the Church on its previous building. Now, SouthPark Church is famous for its bold plan to redevelop its property into a mixed-used development by bringing in partners Childress Klein. The new Church will sit in the middle of the property surrounded by local business. SouthPark Church currently meets at Regal Phillips Place on Sunday mornings, with two services: a traditional service at 9:00 AM and a modern service at 10:30 AM.

Morrocroft is a historic home located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Harrie T. Lindeberg and built between 1925 and 1927. It is a Colonial Revival/Tudor Revival style brick manor house. It consists of a main two story block (2+1⁄2 stories on the rear facade) with rambling 1+1⁄2-story side wings. It is characterized by picturesque massing, rhythmic spacing of mullioned, multipaned grouped windows, and numerous multi-stack chimneys rising from steeply pitched gable roofs. It was built by North Carolina Governor and Congressman Cameron A. Morrison (1869-1953).The Morrison family owned the home until 1981. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Parkdale is a Charlotte, North Carolina neighborhood that generally includes the streets of Manning Dr. (west of Topping Pl.), Wintercrest Ln. (north of Scofield Rd.), and Scofield Rd. Frank Ramsay McNinch House is a historic home located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built about 1925 for Charlotte mayor Frank R. McNinch, and is a two-story, five bay, Colonial Revival style white frame dwelling. It is sheathed in weatherboard and has flanking exterior end chimneys. It features a prominent two-story, full-facade porch supported by six heavy, square, Tuscan order-style wooden piers. Also on the property is a contributing servant's quarters/garage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Park Road Park is a 122-acre urban park at 6220 Park Road in the Closeburn-Glenkirk neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. Park Road Park features 8 basketball courts, 2 horseshoe pits, 6 baseball fields, 5 Picnic Shelters, volleyball courts, playgrounds, trails, tennis courts, and an eleven-acre lake. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department operates 36 tennis facilities and the 12 lighted tennis courts at Park Road Park are among the best in Charlotte.The Queens University of Charlotte softball team holds all of their home games at the park. An annual children's Fall Fun Fest presented by the Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center is held each year in Park Road Park. There is a recycling drop off center at 5300 Closeburn Road inside the park.

Pfeiffer University at Charlotte, in Charlotte, North Carolina, is one of three campuses of Pfeiffer University, where the university's School of Graduate Studies and Center for Professional Advancement are located. The university also has an undergraduate campus in Misenheimer and another graduate campus in the Triangle, in Morrisville. In October 2015, Pfeiffer announced plans to sell the 5-acre Park Road campus. Spartanburg, South Carolina-based Johnson Development planned a six-story apartment building with retail space on the ground floor.The grand opening of the new Pfeiffer campus took place October 18, 2017. The university now occupies 26,440 square feet on the three floors in the Montford Park building (previously called the Park Seneca building) on Mockingbird Lane.

It is located northeast of the intersection of Woodlawn Rd. and Park Rd. in the south central part of Charlotte. Park Road Shopping Center has a nostalgic ambience, which is sustained by the pipe shop, soda shop, shoe repair shop, and many other stores that date back to the Post-World War II baby boom era.

Elizabeth Lawrence House & Garden is a historic home and garden located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1948–1949, and is a small 1+1⁄2-story, five bay, Colonial Revival style frame dwelling. The house is set on landscaped grounds designed and laid out in 1949–1950. It includes paths, beds, and borders. It was the home of Elizabeth Lawrence (1904-1985), American garden writer and the first woman graduate in landscape architecture from (present-day) North Carolina State University.Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission designed the property a historic landmark in 2005 and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.Elizabeth Lawrence moved away from the property in 1984. In 1986, Mary Elizabeth "Lindie" Wilson purchased the property, and immediately started resurrecting the garden, which had fallen into disrepair. Lindie Wilson's incredible stewardship for the next 23 years ensured the survival of a significant number of plants original to Elizabeth Lawrence - most still thrive in the garden to this day. During her ownership, Lindie Wilson engaged the help of many regional and national experts to figure out the best way to preserve the property, out of which was born the Friends of Elizabeth Lawrence. The Friends worked tirelessly to help Lindie place a conservation easement on the property and negotiate the terms of sale of the property to the Wing Haven Foundation in 2008. Today, the Elizabeth Lawrence House & Garden is open to the public as a historic and cultural resource. It is owned and operated by the Wing Haven Foundation, and managed in a partnership with The Garden Conservancy, which holds the conservation easement on the property. The house and garden are part of the Wing Haven Gardens and Bird Sanctuary.
