Celleneuve (Cèlanòva in Occitan) is a part of Mosson neighbourhood, in the West of the city of Montpellier, Hérault, France. The place name can be translated as new cellar. It first appeared in Aniane's cartulary, written in 799, where it is mentioned that Benedict of Aniane (c. 747-821) created a priory, called Cella nova on the soil of Juvignac, even before the city of Montpellier was founded (first mentioned in a document of 985). Château d'O (English: Castle of O), also known as Domaine d'O, is one of the chateaux, old country mansions or follies, built by wealthy merchants, from the 18th century onwards, surrounding the French city of Montpellier. The South entrance leads to the 18th century mansion, while North entrance leads to modern buildings, with Théâtre Jean-Claude Carrière. It is now a main sight of the city of Montpellier. The University Hospital of Montpellier, CHU de Montpellier, is the oldest medical faculty in Europe, part of the University of Montpellier. It has been rated the 6th best hospital in France. It employs about 11,000 people and is the biggest employer in the region. There are 14 medical activity departments and very substantial research activity.Emergency services at the hospital were reorganized in November 2022, largely as a result of pressures resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic in France.

The National Computer Center for Higher Education (CINES), based in Montpellier, is a public institution of French administrative character placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), and created by decree issued in 1999. CINES offers IT services used for public research in France. It is one of the major national centers for computing power supply for research in France. CINES has three missions: High performance computation on supercomputers; The permanent archiving of electronic documents; The hosting of national computer equipment.

The Montpellier Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics, and Microelectronics (Laboratoire d'Informatique, de Robotique et de Microélectronique de Montpellier, LIRMM) is a cross-faculty research entity of the University of Montpellier and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). The spectrum of research activities covered by the LIRMM ranges from circuit design, to modeling of complex agent-based systems, algorithmic studies, bio-computing, human-computer interfaces, and robotics. These activities are conducted mainly within the three scientific research departments: Computer Science (INFO) Microelectronics (MIC) Robotics (ROB)There is also inter-departmental research conducted in the subjects of Water-Sea-Ocean, Logic, Security and safety, and AI and Data Science.

GGL Stadium (or previously known as Altrad Stadium and Stade Yves-du-Manoir) is a multi-use stadium in Montpellier, France. It is currently used mostly for rugby union matches and is the home stadium of Montpellier Hérault RC. The stadium is able to hold 15,697 spectators (12,734 seated). Rugby league side Catalans Dragons used the venue on 5 June 2011 with their tie against Wigan Warriors. In 2014, Ligue 1 Association football team Montpellier HSC temporarily used the stadium during their 2014–15 season for home games after October floods in Montpellier. Their stadium Stade de la Mosson faced numerous floods and subsequent damages meant the team were unable to use its facility. Altrad held 5 fixtures during this time, 4 Ligue 1 matches and 1 Coupe de la Ligue game which lasted from 28 October up to their last game on 13 December 2014, before the team returned to their home stadium.The stadium is named after GGL, a property company based in Montpellier.

The Montpellier 1 University (Université Montpellier 1) is a French university, in the Academy of Montpellier. It is one of the three successor universities to the University of Montpellier following the split in 1970. In January 2015, Montpellier 2 University and Montpellier 1 University merged again to reform University of Montpellier.

Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole is the métropole, an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Montpellier. It is located in the Hérault department, in the Occitanie region, southern France. It was created in January 2015, replacing the previous Communauté d'agglomération de Montpellier. Its area is 421.8 km2. Its population was 481,276 in 2018, of which 290,053 in Montpellier proper.

The Stade de la Mosson (French pronunciation: ​[stad də la mɔˈsɔ̃]) is a football stadium in Montpellier, France. It is the home of Ligue 1 club Montpellier HSC, and has a capacity of 32,900. Formerly a 16,000-seater stadium, it was entirely rebuilt in 1998 to host 6 games of the 1998 FIFA World Cup. It was also used as a venue for group stage matches in the 2007 Rugby World Cup, and was one of nine venues used in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. The stadium takes its name from the neighbouring Mosson river.
