The Montpellier Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics, and Microelectronics (Laboratoire d'Informatique, de Robotique et de Microélectronique de Montpellier, LIRMM) is a cross-faculty research entity of the University of Montpellier and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). The spectrum of research activities covered by the LIRMM ranges from circuit design, to modeling of complex agent-based systems, algorithmic studies, bio-computing, human-computer interfaces, and robotics. These activities are conducted mainly within the three scientific research departments: Computer Science (INFO) Microelectronics (MIC) Robotics (ROB)There is also inter-departmental research conducted in the subjects of Water-Sea-Ocean, Logic, Security and safety, and AI and Data Science.

Château d'O (English: Castle of O), also known as Domaine d'O, is one of the chateaux, old country mansions or follies, built by wealthy merchants, from the 18th century onwards, surrounding the French city of Montpellier. The South entrance leads to the 18th century mansion, while North entrance leads to modern buildings, with Théâtre Jean-Claude Carrière. It is now a main sight of the city of Montpellier. The University Hospital of Montpellier, CHU de Montpellier, is the oldest medical faculty in Europe, part of the University of Montpellier. It has been rated the 6th best hospital in France. It employs about 11,000 people and is the biggest employer in the region. There are 14 medical activity departments and very substantial research activity.Emergency services at the hospital were reorganized in November 2022, largely as a result of pressures resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic in France.

Montpellier 2 University (Université Montpellier 2) was a French university in the académie of Montpellier. It was one of the three universities formed in 1970 from the original University of Montpellier. Its main campus neighbors the Montpellier 3 University's main campus, and for this reason the nearest tramway station is named "Universities of Sciences and Literature" rather than "University of Sciences". In January 2015, Montpellier 1 University and Montpellier 2 University merged into the Montpellier University (Université de Montpellier).

Celleneuve (Cèlanòva in Occitan) is a part of Mosson neighbourhood, in the West of the city of Montpellier, Hérault, France. The place name can be translated as new cellar. It first appeared in Aniane's cartulary, written in 799, where it is mentioned that Benedict of Aniane (c. 747-821) created a priory, called Cella nova on the soil of Juvignac, even before the city of Montpellier was founded (first mentioned in a document of 985).
