Bremerton is a city in Kitsap County, Washington. The population was 43,505 at the 2020 census and an estimated 44,122 in 2021, making it the largest city on the Kitsap Peninsula. Bremerton is home to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and the Bremerton Annex of Naval Base Kitsap. Bremerton is connected to downtown Seattle by two ferries: a 60-minute ferry that carries both vehicles and walk-on passengers, and a 28-minute Fast Ferry that carries passengers and a limited number of bicycles.

Naval Station Bremerton is a former station of the United States Navy that was merged with Naval Submarine Base Bangor into Naval Base Kitsap in 2004. Kitsap serves as host command for the Navy's fleet throughout the Pacific Northwest. It is home to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. In addition to performing drydock and overhaul services for active naval vessels, it is also home to an inactive ship facility for several decommissioned warships, including aircraft carriers. Naval Hospital Bremerton is also located aboard the installation as a tenant command.

USS Ingraham (FFG-61), the last American Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided missile frigate to be built, was the fourth ship of the United States Navy to be named for Captain Duncan Ingraham (1802–1891).

The Marine Reservation Historic District is in the northwestern area of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, just west of the Hospital Reservation Historic District. Beginning in 1911 it reached its maximum development, prior to World War II. The district included four standing buildings and a barracks, which has been demolished. The barracks was a 3+1⁄2-story brick building similar in design to the other buildings. All of the buildings face the Marine parade ground, which is used as a playfield. The four two-story quarters of brick have Colonial Revival influences in the Georgian Colonial details. Quarters M-l, M-2 and M-3 were designed by Washington, D.C. architect J.H. DeDibour in 1910. The district is a man-made bench cut into the hillside. Each building has a front, side and rear lawn, native plantings and garden areas. The garages were built in the 1930s.One year after the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard was established its founding commandant, Lieutenant Ambrose B. Wyckoff, requested a Marine detachment to provide yard security. It was not until 1896, however, that First Sergeant George Carter, along with twenty Marines, were sent to Bremerton. The Marine Reservation was established on what is now the corner of the yard bounded by Chester Avenue and the alley south of Burwell Street. By 1899, an officers quarters and barracks building had been constructed. Constructed between 1911 and 1914, the buildings in this district symbolize the role which the Marine Corps played as a security and training arm of the United States Navy, a function which began at the shipyard in 1896 and continued until 1977, when the function was moved to Subase Bangor.

USNS Bridge (T-AOE-10), (formerly USS Bridge [AOE-10]), is the fourth ship of the Supply-class of fast combat support ships in the United States Navy. She is the second ship in the Navy named after Horatio Bridge, a Commodore who served during the Civil War. Bridge was commissioned on 5 August 1998.

USNS Rainier (T-AOE-7), is a Supply-class fast combat support ship and the third US Navy vessel named after Mount Rainier. The ship was christened on 28 September 1991 by the ship's sponsor, Mrs. Suzanne Callison Dicks, wife of Congressman Norm Dicks, and commissioned as "USS Rainier (AOE-7)", on 21 January 1995 at Bremerton, Washington. Rainier has the speed to keep up with the Navy's carrier strike groups (CSG) and rapidly replenish Navy task forces. She receives petroleum products, ammunition and stores from shuttle ships or during port calls and redistributes these items simultaneously to CSG ships. This reduces the vulnerability of serviced ships by reducing alongside time. In April 2013, it was announced that the Military Sealift Command will take Rainier and her sister USNS Bridge (T-AOE-10) out of service in 2014 as a cost-saving measure. The fast combat support ship Rainier, which was last part of the Navy's civilian-crewed Military Sealift Command's fleet of combat logistics ships and being held in reserve in Bremerton, Washington since 1 October 2016. On 15 September 2022, she was stricken from the Naval Vessel Register.

USS Dubuque (LPD-8) is an Austin-class amphibious transport dock of the United States Navy. USS Dubuque is the second ship named after Dubuque, Iowa on the Mississippi River and her founder, Julien Dubuque - a French Canadian explorer. USS Dubuque was commissioned on 1 September 1967 at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia.

USS Rodney M. Davis (FFG-60) was an Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided missile frigate of the United States Navy named for Marine Sergeant Rodney Maxwell Davis (1942–1967), who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism in the Vietnam War. Rodney M. Davis was laid down on 8 February 1985 by the Todd Pacific Shipyards, Los Angeles Division, San Pedro, California; Launched on 11 January 1986; Christened by Mrs. Judy P. Davis, Widow of Sgt. Davis, and commissioned on 9 May 1987.The ship was homeported at Yokosuka, Japan for several years while assigned to Destroyer Squadron 15. Rodney M. Davis was decommissioned at NS Everett on 23 January 2015. She was sunk 12 July 2022 during RIMPAC 2022.

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, officially Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF), is a United States Navy shipyard covering 179 acres (0.7 km2) on Puget Sound at Bremerton, Washington in uninterrupted use since its establishment in 1891; it has also been known as Navy Yard Puget Sound, Bremerton Navy Yard, and the Bremerton Naval Complex. It is bordered on the south by Sinclair Inlet, on the west by the Bremerton Annex of Naval Base Kitsap, and on the north and east by the city of Bremerton, Washington. It is the Pacific Northwest's largest naval shore facility and one of Washington state's largest industrial installations. PSNS & IMF provides the Navy with maintenance, modernization, and technical and logistics support, and employs 14,000 people.

Bay Vista is a community located in Bremerton, in Kitsap County, Washington. It borders Navy Yard City.

Navy Yard City is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,477 at the 2010 census.

Sinclair Inlet is a shallow embayment in the western part of Puget Sound in Kitsap County, Washington, USA. It has a maximum depth of 20 meters. It is the southwestern extension of Port Orchard, and it touches the shores of three of Kitsap County's four incorporated cities: Bremerton, Bainbridge Island, and Port Orchard. It is connected to Dyes Inlet by the Port Washington Narrows and to Puget Sound by Rich Passage. It was named by United States Navy explorer Charles Wilkes for George T. Sinclair, acting master of one of his ship's crews. The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard is located on the north shore of Sinclair Inlet.
