Greenville, commonly known as Edgemont, is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Greenburgh in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 9,394 at the 2020 census. Most of its residents refer to the area as Edgemont, which is also the name of its school district.It is an ethnically diverse inner suburb of New York City, lying 22 miles (35 km) north of Columbus Circle. It is a partial bedroom community, with some of its residents working in Midtown Manhattan. Other workplaces of Greenville residents are in the offices and factories of White Plains, Yonkers, The Bronx, Rockland County, New York or Stamford, Connecticut, as well as many businesses and hospitals in southern Westchester County. The hamlet was originally ethnic Jewish and Italian, but is now ethnically diverse. Its main street is Central Park Avenue. Its populated with strip malls, gas stations and outlet stores and caters mainly to shoppers from Yonkers and The Bronx. The limits of the CDP are essentially defined by the areas served by the Edgemont Union Free School District and the Greenville Fire Department, whose areas slightly differ. Greenville was originally a development designed by different architects for summer homes for Manhattanites. With its antique colonial homes and outstanding schools, it is an option for those seeking to move from New York City. Metro-North trains are accessible via the Scarsdale and Hartsdale train stations, and they run 25–55 minutes to Grand Central Terminal, depending on if one has an express or local train. In March 2018, Bloomberg ranked Greenville as the 22nd wealthiest place in the United States, and the third wealthiest in New York.

US Post Office-Scarsdale is a historic post office building located at Scarsdale in Westchester County, New York, United States. It was built in 1937 and designed by consulting architects Schultze and Weaver for the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a symmetrically massed red brick building containing limestone trim in the Classical Revival style. It is composed of a two-story central section with flanking one story wings. The front facade features a three-bay recessed limestone portico supported by a pair of tall slender Doric order columns. The lobby features two murals by Gordon Samstag titled "Law and Order in Old Scarsdale" and "Caleb Heathcote Buys the Richbell Farm."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Wayside Cottage is a historic home located at Scarsdale, Westchester County, New York. The earliest part of the house was built about 1720 and is the four-bay-wide, two-bay-deep, 1+1⁄2-story south section. It sits on a fieldstone foundation and has a gable roof and verandah with Doric order piers. The center section of the house was built in 1828 and it is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay-wide structure with a gable roof and sheathed in clapboard. A third section is known as the "caretaker's quarters" and was built in the late 19th century. It is two stories high, three bays wide, and two bays deep. A wing was added to this section in 1928. The house underwent a major restoration in 1953–1954. Since 1919, it has been owned by the Junior League of Central Westchester. It was also where Scarsdale Public Library used to be. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

Scarsdale High School (SHS) is a public high school in Scarsdale, New York, United States, a coterminous town and village in Westchester County, New York. It is a part of the Scarsdale Union Free School District. The school was founded in 1917. In its first selection process, the United States Department of Education named Scarsdale High School as "one of the 144 exemplary schools to which others may look for patterns of success." According to a study done for U.S. News & World Report, Scarsdale High School is in the nation's top 100 for math and science.From the graduating class of 2017, 98% continued their education with college programs, and 97% entered four-year national and international colleges and universities. Thirteen students in the class of 2017 (3%) were named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, and 27 (7%) students received National Merit Letters of commendation. Between 2007 and 2009, Scarsdale High School made a transition from Advanced Placement (AP) to Advanced Topics (AT) courses.In the 2017–18 school year, SHS had a professional staff of 156 with a median teaching experience of 19 years. 99% of the faculty held a master's degree, 81% had 30 credits or more beyond a master's, and 4% had doctorate degrees. The student faculty ratio is 11.66 to 1, and its teachers have one of the highest paying salaries in the country: 44% had a base-salary of over $100,000 in 2005.The school is 14.7% Asian, 1.4% Black, 7.8% Hispanic, 68.4% White and 5.7% other.

Scarsdale Woman's Club is a historic women's club located at Scarsdale, Westchester County, New York. It was built in 1858 and expanded and remodeled in 1872 in the Second Empire style. It was again expanded and remodeled in 1941 by Hobart Upjohn. The former residence is a 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame building, clad in stucco, with a prominent mansard roof covered in red and blue hexagonal slate tiles. It features a five-bay open front porch supported by square and Doric order columns. It was acquired by the Scarsdale Women's' Club in 1928 for use as a clubhouse.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

During the American Revolutionary War, the Odell farm served as headquarters of Count de Rochambeau and campsite for the French expeditionary forces under his command from July 6 to August 18, 1781.
