Wraxall Manor

Rampisham ( or ) is a village and civil parish in the county of Dorset in southern England, situated approximately 11 miles (18 km) northwest of the county town Dorchester. The village is sited on greensand in a valley surrounded by the chalk hills of the Dorset Downs. The parish includes the hamlet of Uphall northwest of the main village. Dorset County Council's 2013 mid-year estimate for the population of Rampisham parish is 110. The principal means of making a living is agricultural, mainly grain production.

Pugin Hall is a private house, designed as a rectory by Augustus Pugin and built in 1846–1847 in Rampisham, Dorset, England. The house is a Grade I listed building, the top category, 'of highest significance'.

West Dorset was a local government district in Dorset, England. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972, and was a merger of the boroughs of Bridport, Dorchester and Lyme Regis, along with Sherborne urban district and the rural districts of Beaminster, Bridport, Dorchester and Sherborne. Its council was based in Dorchester. The district and its council were abolished on 1 April 2019 and, together with the other four districts outside the greater Bournemouth area, replaced by a new Dorset unitary authority.

West Dorset is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Chris Loder, a Conservative.

West Hill is a prominent hill, 224 metres (735 ft) high, just to the west of the village of Evershot in the county of Dorset in southern England. Its prominence of 63 metres (207 ft) means it is listed as one of the Tumps. It is located within the Dorset Downs. The summit is relatively flat and open. A public footpath runs past the summit to the south and there is a lane called Horsey Knap that crosses the northern flank of the hill and descends into Evershot.

Toller Porcorum () is a village and civil parish in Dorset, England, situated in the Toller valley 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Dorchester. In the 2011 census the civil parish—which also includes the small settlements of Higher and Lower Kingcombe to the north—had a population of 307.

Toller was a railway station on the Bridport Railway in the west of the English county of Dorset. The station served the village of Toller Porcorum. Opened on 31 March 1862, five years after the branch, it consisted of a single platform and a modest wooden building.

Aunt Mary's Bottom (grid reference ST546023) is an 8.62 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Dorset, England notified in 1991.

Rampisham Down is a chalk hill in the Dorset Downs, eight miles north west of Dorchester in west Dorset, England. The highest part of the hill is 221 metres (720 feet). To the north east of the hill is the Frome valley and the village of Rampisham, to the south west is the Hooke valley and the village of Hooke. The A356 road between Dorchester and Crewkerne cuts across the down.

Evershot is a village and civil parish in the county of Dorset in southwest England, situated approximately 7 miles (11 km) south of Yeovil in Somerset. It is the second highest village in the county at 175 metres (574 ft) above sea-level. Evershot parish encompasses part of the nearby hamlet of Holywell, 1.25 miles (2.01 km) east of Evershot village. Dorset County Council's latest (2013) estimate of the parish population is 210. The village has connections with the writer Thomas Hardy.

Chilfrome () is a small village and civil parish in the county of Dorset in southwest England. It lies in the Dorset unitary authority administrative area, approximately 9 miles (14 km) northwest of the county town Dorchester. It is situated between the villages of Cattistock and Maiden Newton in the upper reaches of the Frome Valley in the Dorset Downs. The parish church was largely restored in 1864, though it has a thirteenth-century chancel-arch, a partly fourteenth-century nave, and windows dating from the fifteenth century. The parish church dates from the 14th century and is a Grade II* Listed Building. Dorset County Council estimate that in 2013 the population of the civil parish was 40.Three long-distance footpaths, the Wessex Ridgeway, the Macmillan Way and the Frome Valley Trail, all pass through the village.

Cattistock is a village and civil parish in west Dorset, England, sited in the upper reaches of the Frome Valley, 8 miles (13 km) northwest of the county town Dorchester. The Dorset poet William Barnes called it "elbow-streeted Cattstock", a comment on the less-than-linear village street. In the 2011 census the parish had a population of 509.
