Highland Avenue station is a station along the SEPTA Wilmington/Newark Line and Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, one of two stations in Chester, Pennsylvania, United States. Amtrak trains do not stop there; it is only served by SEPTA. The line offers southbound service to Wilmington and Newark, Delaware and northbound service to Philadelphia. The station is located on Highland Avenue (US 13 Business) and 6th Street in Chester, PA. Highland Avenue is a small station, less built up and less patronized than the larger station in Chester, Chester Transportation Center. The site of Subaru Park, the home venue of soccer team Philadelphia Union, however, is located nearby; however, since the club provides a complementary matchday shuttle from Chester Transportation Center, Highland Avenue remains little used. In 2011, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission studied whether to close Highland Avenue and to replace it with a new station at Engle Street, placing it closer to Subaru Park.

The Chester Rolling Mill was a large iron (later steel) rolling mill established by shipbuilder John Roach in Chester, Pennsylvania, United States in 1873. The main purpose of the Mill was to provide metal hull plates, beams and other parts for the ships built at Roach's Delaware River Iron Ship Building and Engine Works, also located at Chester. Amongst the mill's notable achievements, it manufactured the steel plates for the first steel-hulled steamship built in the United States, Alaskan, and for the U.S. Navy's first four steel ships, the so-called "ABCD ships". Production of the latter vessels drove Roach's shipbuilding empire into receivership after the government unexpectedly repudiated the contracts, and Roach was forced to sell the Chester Rolling Mill and most of his other companies to satisfy creditors. The Chester Rolling Mill later became part of the Wellman Steel Company.

Chester Charter Scholars Academy, formerly Chester Charter School for the Arts, (CCSA) is a public non-profit charter school in Chester, Pennsylvania, serving the Chester-Upland School District. The school currently provides kindergarten through 12th grade. The junior class will become the first senior class in 2018/2019. The educational curriculum at CCSA has a focus on music, dance, theater and visual arts.CCSA began in 2008 as a public–private partnership between the Chester-Upland School District and the Chester Fund led by John Alston, a Swarthmore College professor and director of the Chester Children's Chorus.The Chester Upland School for the Arts (CUSA) was opened in 2008 and became the highest performing school in the district.In the fall of 2011, the staff at CUSA was significantly reduced due to state education funding cuts. The Chester Fund submitted a charter school application to form the Chester Charter School for the Arts.CCSA was founded in 2012 with 325 students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. For five years, the school operated out of a rented industrial building in nearby Aston Township but outgrew the space in 2016.The 11-acre campus at 1500 Highland Avenue in Chester was purchased in spring 2016 from the Chester Housing Authority. The property was originally part of the McCafferty Village housing development which was demolished in 1998. In August 2017, a 90,000 square foot school facility built at a cost of $25 million was opened.

The J. Lewis Crozer Library is a public library in Chester, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1769 as one of the earliest libraries established in Pennsylvania. It was chartered as the Chester Library Company in 1830 and reincorporated in 1879 as the Chester Free Library. In 1925, the library was renamed in recognition of a $250,000 gift bequeathed to it by the wealthy philanthropist J. Lewis Crozer. The library occupied several buildings over the years, including the Deshong Art Museum from 1961 to 1978. The current library building was built in 1976 as a neighborhood branch and became the main library in 1978.

The Delaware Valley Resource Recovery Facility is a trash incineration plant located in Chester, Pennsylvania. The waste-to-energy plant, which incinerates waste to generate power, was built and operated by Westinghouse from 1991 to 1997. It is currently operated by Covanta. a Morristown, New Jersey-based publicly-traded industrial waste company, and has been criticized for the level of pollution it produces. The plant has the largest capacity of any waste-to-energy plant in the United States.

Trainer is a borough in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,828 at the 2010 census, down from 1,901 at the 2000 census. The borough was named after David Trainer, a wealthy textile manufacturer.

Chester Waterside Station of the Philadelphia Electric Company is a historic former coal-fired power station, located on the Delaware River in Chester, Delaware County, southeastern Pennsylvania.Built by the Philadelphia Electric Company, it is currently owned by the PECO Energy Company of the Exelon Corporation. The complex has been converted into an office building.

Stoney Creek is a tributary of the Delaware River in southeast Delaware County in Pennsylvania, United States. The stream rises in Chester Township, and flows through City of Chester and Trainer, at times creating their border. It discharges at the Port of Chester on the northern perimeter of the Trainer Refinery and south of Stoney Creek Yard. Historically it has been known a Middle Run and Stoney Run.

Feltonville is an unincorporated community in Delaware County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Feltonville is located at the intersection of Felton Avenue and Bethel Road, adjacent to Interstate 95/U.S. Route 322 in Chester Township, northwest of the city of Chester.

Trainer Refinery is an oil refining facility located in Trainer, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The facility is downstream from the Port of Chester and fifteen miles southwest of Philadelphia along the Delaware River. Stoney Creek is along its northern perimeter. The Trainer Refinery is owned by Monroe Energy, LLC, a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines. Monroe Energy acquired the facility in June 2012. Since that time, the company has focused on producing high-quality transportation fuels at the refinery. In addition to jet fuel, the facility also produces gasoline, diesel, and home heating oil.

Subaru Park is a soccer-specific stadium located in Chester, Pennsylvania, located next to the Commodore Barry Bridge on the waterfront along the Delaware River. The venue is home to the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer.Subaru Park was designed as an initial step for economic development on the waterfront, with additional plans calling for a riverwalk amidst other entertainment, retail, and residential projects. The stadium was constructed by T.N. Ward Company, which is based in Ardmore. The project is the result of combined commitments of $30 million from Delaware County and $47 million from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Subaru of America is the stadium's naming rights sponsor.

Calvary Baptist Church is a Baptist Church founded in 1879 in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is affiliated with the National Baptist Convention, USA. Martin Luther King Jr. attended Calvary Baptist church while he studied at the Crozer Theological Seminary from 1948 to 1951.
