Palavas-les-Flots (French pronunciation: ​[palavas le flo]; Languedocien: Palavàs) is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region in southern France.

The Lez (French pronunciation: [lɛz]; Occitan: Les) is a 29.6-kilometre (18.4 mi) river in the Hérault department in southern France. It is the main river of the city of Montpellier. The river has its source in Saint-Clément-de-Rivière and flows into the Mediterranean Sea at Palavas-les-Flots. Its longest tributary is the Mosson. The small fish Cottus petiti is endemic to a short stretch of this river.

The Étang du Méjean, the "pond of Méjean" (sometimes called Étang de Pérols in its eastern part) is part of the lagoon complex of the Palavas ponds (Étangs palavasiens). It is located in the Hérault department, in southern France, on the Mediterranean coast.

Pérols (French pronunciation: [peʁɔl] (listen); Occitan: Peròus) is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region in southern France. Close to the city of Montpellier, it is mostly a quiet village with beautiful old buildings.

Maguelone Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Maguelone ; Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul de Maguelone) is a Roman Catholic church and former cathedral located around 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Montpellier in the Hérault department of southern France. The building stands on an isthmus between the Étang de l'Arnel lake and the Mediterranean Sea in the Gulf of Lion, which was once the site of the original city of Maguelone, opposite the present-day town of Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone. Maguelone Cathedral was once the episcopal seat of the former Bishop of Maguelone until 1563, when the see was transferred to the newly created Bishopric of Montpellier. The cathedral, constructed when the see was returned here in the 11th century from Substantion by Bishop Arnaud (1030-1060), is a Romanesque fortified building. Although parts, such as the towers, have been demolished, the main body of the building remains functional and is a registered national monument. It is run by a dedicated preservation society, les Compagnons de Maguelone, and is used for both religious and secular purposes.

Lattes (French pronunciation: [lat] (listen); Occitan: Latas) is a commune in the Hérault département in the Occitanie region in southern France, located just on the outskirts of Montpellier.

Sud de France Arena (also known as the Arena Montpellier) is an indoor arena located in the Montpellier suburb of Pérols, in the south of France that opened in September 2010. It has a seating capacity of 14,000 spectators, with near 10,000 for sporting events.

Lattara is an ancient Etruscan port city in southern France, mentioned by many Roman authors and discovered in 1963. The site is now home to the Musée Archéologique Henri Prades. Roman-Era remains of a gray whale, now an extinct species in the North Atlantic, have been found here.

Montpellier–Méditerranée Airport or Aéroport de Montpellier–Méditerranée (IATA: MPL, ICAO: LFMT), also known as Fréjorgues Airport, is an airport in southern France. It is located 7 km (4 nautical miles) east-southeast of Montpellier in Mauguio, in the Hérault department of the Occitanie region in France. The airport opened in 1946, 8 years after the first flight to the area.The airport carries the 10th largest number of passengers in France (over 1.18 million in 2010). A campus of the École nationale de l'aviation civile (French civil aviation university) is also located at the airport.
