The Étang du Méjean, the "pond of Méjean" (sometimes called Étang de Pérols in its eastern part) is part of the lagoon complex of the Palavas ponds (Étangs palavasiens). It is located in the Hérault department, in southern France, on the Mediterranean coast.

Pérols (French pronunciation: [peʁɔl] (listen); Occitan: Peròus) is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region in southern France. Close to the city of Montpellier, it is mostly a quiet village with beautiful old buildings.

Palavas-les-Flots (French pronunciation: ​[palavas le flo]; Languedocien: Palavàs) is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region in southern France.

Lattes (French pronunciation: [lat] (listen); Occitan: Latas) is a commune in the Hérault département in the Occitanie region in southern France, located just on the outskirts of Montpellier.

The Phare de la méditerranée is an observation tower with a revolving restaurant 45 metres above ground at Palavas-les-Flots in France. It was built in 1943 as a water tower.

Sud de France Arena (also known as the Arena Montpellier) is an indoor arena located in the Montpellier suburb of Pérols, in the south of France that opened in September 2010. It has a seating capacity of 14,000 spectators, with near 10,000 for sporting events.

The Lez (French pronunciation: [lɛz]; Occitan: Les) is a 29.6-kilometre (18.4 mi) river in the Hérault department in southern France. It is the main river of the city of Montpellier. The river has its source in Saint-Clément-de-Rivière and flows into the Mediterranean Sea at Palavas-les-Flots. Its longest tributary is the Mosson. The small fish Cottus petiti is endemic to a short stretch of this river.

Lattara is an ancient Etruscan port city in southern France, mentioned by many Roman authors and discovered in 1963. The site is now home to the Musée Archéologique Henri Prades. Roman-Era remains of a gray whale, now an extinct species in the North Atlantic, have been found here.

Montpellier–Méditerranée Airport or Aéroport de Montpellier–Méditerranée (IATA: MPL, ICAO: LFMT), also known as Fréjorgues Airport, is an airport in southern France. It is located 7 km (4 nautical miles) east-southeast of Montpellier in Mauguio, in the Hérault department of the Occitanie region in France. The airport opened in 1946, 8 years after the first flight to the area.The airport carries the 10th largest number of passengers in France (over 1.18 million in 2010). A campus of the École nationale de l'aviation civile (French civil aviation university) is also located at the airport.

Montpellier Sud de France station (French: Gare de Montpellier Sud de France) is a railway station on the outskirts of Montpellier, France which offers TGV services. Montpellier Sud de France was built for and opened in 2018 a few months after the Nîmes – Montpellier Bypass, which extends from the end of the LGV Méditerranée near Nîmes, Gard to just beyond Montpellier, Hérault.

The Château de la Mogère is a mansion near the city of Montpellier in the French region of Occitanie. It is one of many folies (country houses) on the outskirts of Montpellier, built by wealthy merchants in the 18th century. In 1706, the grounds of la Mogère were purchased by Fulcran Limouzin, the local Secrétaire d'État à la Maison du Roi (one of the types of Secretary of State in France's Ancien Régime). In 1715, architect Jean Giral drew the plan for La Mogère, giving it the appearance it still has today. Its harmonious façade is topped off by a pediment, standing against a background of pine trees, all in Renaissance-style. The grounds and interior, currently owned by the Viscount Gaston de Saporta, are open for visits. The interior has been kept intact since the 18th century, displaying antique furniture and family portraits from the last three centuries. Amongst the painters represented here are Jean Jouvenet, Hyacinthe Rigaud and Jacques-Louis David. The garden is a mixture of English garden and formal garden style and houses a large fountain built up out of thousands of little seashells and carrying a number of cherubs. La Mogère nowadays lies right next to the Autoroute A9 and in close proximity to the Montpellier - Méditerranée Airport and Montpellier-Sud de France station. The last stop of the Montpellier tramway line 1 (Odysseum) is a 10-minute walk away. The Château de Flaugergues is also nearby.

The Canal des Étangs was a canal in southern France. It is now part of the Canal du Rhône à Sète along with the Canal de Beaucaire. It was created by the state of Languedoc. The project consisted of enlarging ancient medieval channels through and between the shallow lakes and salt marshes, connecting Sète and Aigues-Mortes.
