Powell Butte

Oregon's 3rd congressional district covers most of Multnomah County, including Gresham, Troutdale, and most of Portland east of the Willamette River (parts of Northwest and Southwest Portland lie in the 1st and 5th districts). It also includes the northeastern part of Clackamas County and all of Hood River County. Generally, most of Portland east of the Willamette River is in the 3rd District. The district has been represented by Democrat Earl Blumenauer since a 1996 special election. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of D+22, it is the most Democratic district in Oregon.

Clatsop Butte is an upland butte lying directly south of Powell Butte in southeast Portland, Oregon, United States. Clatsop Butte City Park, which occupies part of the butte, is at coordinates 45°28′28″N 122°30′24″W at an elevation of 577 feet (176 m). Johnson Creek, Southeast Foster Road, and the Springwater Corridor Trail pass between Powell Butte and Clatsop Butte near Southeast 152nd Avenue.The City of Portland acquired about 16 acres (6.5 ha) of land on the butte for a park and natural area in 2000. Other land acquisitions increased the park's size to 102 acres (0.41 km2) by 2007 but led to controversy about public expenditures. A 16-member oversight committee was to review the purchases in 2008 to decide whether the money had been wisely spent.As of 2008, Metro the regional government in the Oregon part of the Portland metropolitan area, included 49 acres (20 ha) of the acreage on its list of protected natural areas. The natural area, comprising densely forested hillsides and creek frontage, supports wildlife including deer, foxes, coyotes, northern flickers, pileated woodpeckers and other local and migratory birds.

The unrelated Centennial, Oregon post office near Delta Park in North Portland served the Oregon statehood Centennial Exposition from June to September 1959.Prior being annexed by Portland, the community was enumerated as a "Census-designated place" in 1980, when the community recorded a population of 22,118. The community was also part of the CDP of Powellhurst-Centennial in 1990, which the census area recorded a population of 28,756.

Cedar Crossing Bridge is a covered bridge in southeast Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon. Built in 1982, it carries Deardorff Road over Johnson Creek. The Oregon Department of Transportation notes that the bridge, even though it is covered, is "not a true covered bridge" because it does not use a timber truss for support.Cedar Crossing Bridge is the only covered bridge in Multnomah County. It replaced an older wooden truss bridge that had fallen into disrepair. Notable features of the 1982 bridge include five large windows on each side, an interior finished with knotty pine, a 24-foot (7.3 m) roadway, and a separate 5-foot (1.5 m) walkway for foot traffic.In 2015, an article in The Oregonian newspaper reported problems on or near the bridge in the form of graffiti, trash, a surface walkway with mud and standing water, and apparent bullet holes. However, the Portland Bureau of Transportation found the bridge deck to be in satisfactory condition and the overall structure to be in fair or good condition in 2014. The bridge abutments, constructed in 1936 for an earlier bridge, were said to be in fair condition.
