The Mariensäule (lit. 'Mary's Column') is a Marian column located on the Marienplatz in Munich, Germany. Mary is revered here as Patrona Bavariae (Latin: Protector of Bavaria).

The Fischbrunnen is a fountain in the center of Munich, whose history can be traced back to the Middle Ages. In 1954, Josef Henselmann created the fountain in its present form, using parts of Konrad Knoll’s neo-gothic fountain that was destroyed during the Second World War.

Marienplatz (English: Mary's Square, i.e. St. Mary, Our Lady's Square) is a central square in the city centre of Munich, Germany. It has been the city's main square since 1158.

The Rindermarkt is one of the oldest streets in Munich, which connects to the Marienplatz in the north through the former Inner Sendlinger Tor. Its continuation today forms the Sendlinger Straße, which leads to the (outer) Sendlinger Tor. Originally, this street was used as a cattle marketplace, from which the name of the street derives. Later, noble patricians built their homes here. During the Second World War, the houses on Rindermarkt were badly affected. During the reconstruction, the original roads were extended in the direction of Oberanger to today's place. Only the north side of today's Rindermarkt still follows the old street routes. Today, the Munich Rindermarkt acts as a haven in the midst of the old town of Munich. Many traditional companies and retail shops have settled there. During the Advent time, the Kripperlmarkt took place there until 2011 as part of the traditional Christmas markets.

The New Town Hall (German: Neues Rathaus) is a town hall at the northern part of Marienplatz in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. It hosts the city government including the city council, offices of the mayors and a small portion of the administration. In 1874 the municipality had left the Old Town Hall for its new domicile.

The Old Town Hall (German Altes Rathaus), until 1874 the domicile of the municipality, serves today as a building for representative purposes for the city council in Munich. The Old Town Hall bounds the central square Marienplatz on its east side.

The Viktualienmarkt is a daily food market and a square in the center of Munich, Germany. It has been held daily since 1807, except on Sundays and public holidays. The Viktualienmarkt developed from an original farmers' market to a popular market for gourmets. In an area covering 140 stalls and shops offer flowers, exotic fruit, game, poultry, spices, cheese, fish, juices and so on.

The 2022 European Road Cycling Championships was the 28th running of the European Road Cycling Championships, held from 14 to 21 August 2022 in Munich, Germany for the elite events, and from 7 to 10 July 2022 in Anadia, Portugal for under-23 and junior events. The event consisted of a total of 6 road races and 8 time trials.
