St Peter's Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in the inner city of Munich, southern Germany. Its 91-metre (299 ft) tower is commonly known as "Alter Peter"—Old Pete—and is emblematic of Munich. St Peter's is the oldest recorded parish church in Munich and presumably the originating point for the whole city.

Heilig-Geist-Kirche (Church of the Holy Spirit; lit. 'Holy Ghost Church') is a Gothic hall church in Munich, southern Germany, originally belonging to the Hospice of the Holy Ghost (14th century).

The Old Town Hall (German Altes Rathaus), until 1874 the domicile of the municipality, serves today as a building for representative purposes for the city council in Munich. The Old Town Hall bounds the central square Marienplatz on its east side.

The Rindermarkt is one of the oldest streets in Munich, which connects to the Marienplatz in the north through the former Inner Sendlinger Tor. Its continuation today forms the Sendlinger Straße, which leads to the (outer) Sendlinger Tor. Originally, this street was used as a cattle marketplace, from which the name of the street derives. Later, noble patricians built their homes here. During the Second World War, the houses on Rindermarkt were badly affected. During the reconstruction, the original roads were extended in the direction of Oberanger to today's place. Only the north side of today's Rindermarkt still follows the old street routes. Today, the Munich Rindermarkt acts as a haven in the midst of the old town of Munich. Many traditional companies and retail shops have settled there. During the Advent time, the Kripperlmarkt took place there until 2011 as part of the traditional Christmas markets.

The Fischbrunnen is a fountain in the center of Munich, whose history can be traced back to the Middle Ages. In 1954, Josef Henselmann created the fountain in its present form, using parts of Konrad Knoll’s neo-gothic fountain that was destroyed during the Second World War.

The Mariensäule (lit. 'Mary's Column') is a Marian column located on the Marienplatz in Munich, Germany. Mary is revered here as Patrona Bavariae (Latin: Protector of Bavaria).

The Rindermarktbrunnen or literally "Cattle market fountain" in English is a modern sculpture in the historical Altstadt of Munich, in Bavaria, Germany. It was created in 1964 by Munich sculptor and professor of the Munich Academy Josef Henselmann in the course of the reorganisation of the cattle market. The fountain was sponsored by Gunther Henle. With his designs Henselmann observed the historical function of the square as an area of cattle trade and as an area for the cattle there to drink, which existed until into the 19th century. Out of Gneiss he created a terraced fountain scene on the lightly sloping site. The irregularly formed basin of the fountain in the centre of the work imitates the idea of a naturally formed puddle or pool. The fountain is crowned by a powerful set of bronzeworks above the steps. It shows three cattle which look down from their position onto people resting at the base of the fountain. Slightly aside is the stone figure of an observing herdsman sitting on a retaining wall.

Munich Marienplatz is an important stop on the Munich S-Bahn and U-Bahn network, located under the square of the same name in Munich's city centre. The S-Bahn lines , , , , , and intersect with the U-Bahn lines and . The station is one of the most frequently used stations in the network, with up to 24,400 people transferring and 8,000 passengers entering or exiting each hour. In 2007, 175,400 people used the station daily on weekdays, including entries, exits and transfers.

The New Town Hall (German: Neues Rathaus) is a town hall at the northern part of Marienplatz in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. It hosts the city government including the city council, offices of the mayors and a small portion of the administration. In 1874 the municipality had left the Old Town Hall for its new domicile.

The 2022 European Road Cycling Championships was the 28th running of the European Road Cycling Championships, held from 14 to 21 August 2022 in Munich, Germany for the elite events, and from 7 to 10 July 2022 in Anadia, Portugal for under-23 and junior events. The event consisted of a total of 6 road races and 8 time trials.
