Malmøykalven

Malmøya og Malmøykalven Nature Reserve is a nature reserve established in 2008 in the municipality of Oslo, Norway. The nature reserve consists of parts of the island of Malmøya, the island of Malmøykalven, and a water zone which includes the skerries of Malmøyskjær and Hertugskjær. It covers an area of about 0.509 km², of which 0.274 km² is land area. The nature reserve contains geological locations with scientifically important fossils from Cambrian and Silurian, particular vegetation types, and is an important nesting site for seabirds.

Malmøya is an island 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south of Oslo Central Station. Oslo, the capital of Norway. The island is mostly known for its large quantities of fossils from the Cambro-Silurian period and its rare flowers. The name Malmøya is derived from 'malm', or 'ore', due to the extensive amount found on the island.

Bunnefjorden, sometimes referred to as Bunne Fjord, is a part of the Oslofjord in south eastern Norway, located east of the Nesodden peninsula. The Bunne Fjord is flanked by the municipalities of Oslo in the north east, Nordre Follo to the east, Ås to the south east, Frogn to the south west, and Nesodden to the west. The Bunne Fjord has a very long water residence time, and the water is of poor quality. The significant islands in the Bunne Fjord are Langøyene, Malmøya, Ulvøya, Ormøya, Gressholmen, and Husbergøya.

Ormøya is an inhabited island in the inner part of Oslofjord, in the municipality of Oslo. It is located north of the island Malmøya and west of the mainland at Bekkelaget / Nordstrand. A bridge over the strait Ormsundet connects the island to the mainland. The island covers an area of 0.18 square kilometres (0.069 sq mi) Ormøy Church, designed by architect Bernhard Steckmest, was built in the 1890s. On the island there are beaches, boating ports and a small park. Ormøya belonged to Aker kommune before Aker was incorporated in Oslo in 1948.: 137 

Bleikøya is an island in the inner part of Oslofjord, in the municipitality of Oslo. It is located between Hovedøya and Sjursøya. From the late 19th century, a sanatorium for children suffering from scrofula was located on the island.In 2008 the Bleikøya Nature Reserve was established on the northeastern part of Bleikøya, including the islet Bleikøykalven.

Ormøy Church is a church on the island of Ormøya in Oslo, Norway. It was built of wood in 1893 and has 200 seats. The church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage. The architectural drawings was made by the German architect Bernhard Steckmest and built in a log technique, characterized by gothic and Swiss chalet style. The outer walls are painted red, while the interior is stained brown and oiled. The pictures of the Four Evangelists are recessed in the pulpit and was painted by Trygve Torkildsen. The small church organ was made in 1924. On the night of September 19, 1992, the church was set on fire, but a quick reaction from a watchman prevented the church from burning down.

Langøyene is an island in Bunnefjorden in the inner part of Oslofjord, in the municipitality of Nesodden in Akershus, Norway. It is owned by the municipality of Oslo. Langøyene were originally two islands, Nordre Langøy and Søndre Langøy. The islands were bought by the municipitality of Kristiania in 1902, and the strait between the two islands has been filled with garbage deposits.

The Sjursøya train accident was a railway accident that occurred on 24 March 2010 at around 13:15 local time, when a set of 16 freight cars began to roll uncontrollably during shunting on Alnabru, north in Oslo. The train dispatcher central chose to lead the runaway train in the direction of Sjursøya, along the Loenga–Alnabru Line, where it derailed and rolled through a Statoil building in the terminal area at Sjursøya, a peninsula which is part of the Oslo ports facilities. The line leading to the container and petroleum port at Sjursøya is a branch of Østfold Line, and is only used at low speeds. However, the empty carriages crashed into the harbour terminal at an estimated speed of more than 100 km/h (62 mph). At the most, the set of wagons had a speed of 90–140 km/h.According to police reports, three people were killed in the accident while four people were injured. Of these four, three were severely hurt and the fourth person received minor injuries. According to TV 2 Nyhetskanalen, the condition of three of the injured persons was critical.

Sjursøya is a peninsula located in Oslo, Norway. The peninsula is entirely used by the Port of Oslo as a container and petroleum port, and serves as the primary oil port for Eastern Norway. A train accident occurred at Sjursøya on 24 March 2010, when a runaway set of 16 empty carriages belonging to CargoNet crashed into a terminal building at high speed. This incident caused 3 deaths and 4 injured persons.

Ljanselva is a river in Oslo, Norway. It flows from Lutvann and Nøklevann and mouth into Bunnefjorden at Fiskevollbukta. Several saw mills were located along Ljanselva. The lower part of the river is a protected cultural site.

Jomfrubråten is a residential area of Nordstrand in Oslo, Norway. It is located approximately 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) away from the city centre. The area was disintegrated from Ekeberg in 1920, and made a residential area when the Ekeberg Line opened in 1917. A station with the same name serves the area on the Ekeberg Line, and formerly on the Simensbråten Line, but the latter line was closed in 1967.

Ulvøya is an inhabited island in the inner part of Oslofjord, in the municipality of Oslo. It is located east of the island Malmøya and west of the mainland at Nordstrand. A bridge over the strait Ulvøysundet connects the island to the mainland. The island covers an area of 0.3 square kilometres (0.12 sq mi).
