The Alexandra, New Barnet

Bodens Performing Arts College is a full-time Performing Arts College for students aged 16–19 years based in Barnet, Hertfordshire. The part-time school was established in 1973, leading to the opening of the full-time college in 2012. Students undertake BTEC Level 3 Extended in Performing Arts, Trinity Acting Certificate and a Trinity Level 4 Associate Diploma in Acting or Musical Theatre. The course is performance based and students work with resident tutors on a full-time basis, complemented by guest tutors from across the country, experts in their field.

The Shirebourne is a brook that rises in King George's Fields, Hadley, and eventually joins the Pymmes Brook. It may have marked the historic county boundary between Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

New Barnet is a neighbourhood on the north east side of the London Borough of Barnet. It is a largely residential North London suburb located east of Chipping Barnet, west of Cockfosters, south of the village of Monken Hadley and north of Oakleigh Park. Residential properties include a mix of late Victorian villas and terraces, Edwardian detached housing, 1950-60s council housing and the redevelopment of land to low storey flats in the 1980s and 1990s. The north edge of New Barnet borders Monken Hadley Common, a common mostly made up of woods and cut by walking paths. The main commercial area in New Barnet is east of New Barnet railway station on East Barnet Road. The high street is dominated by a medium-sized Sainsbury's supermarket with parking on top and is surrounded by a cluster of shops and facilities including Fayers, Just Add Water, PureGym, Tesco Express, Majestic Wine, The Party Shop, Bikestrobe, Ink n Toner and Bodens Performing Arts. Several independent cafes also exist on the High Street. A number of office blocks were built in Station Road to the west of the station in the 1960s and 70s however many have now been converted to flats. In the past Station Approach in New Barnet was the home of CompShop which produced the pioneering UK101 kit microcomputer. Public houses in New Barnet include The Railway Tavern, The Railway Bell (Wetherspoons), The Builders Arms, and The Lord Kitchener.

Victoria Recreation Ground is a public park in New Barnet in the London Borough of Barnet, United Kingdom. It is one of Barnet's 'Premier Parks'. It is mainly grassed with a children's playground, football pitches, tennis and basketball courts, a bowling green and a car park. There are flower beds which are the remains of a formal flower garden.The park is a roughly square area laid out in the late nineteenth century on land previously known as 'Mrs Cook's Farm', and Barnet Football Club played there in the 1889–90 season.The Shirebourne brook runs along the south side of the park and the Pymmes Brook Trail passes north–south through the park. There is access from Park Road, Victoria Road, Lawton Road, and by a footpath and footbridge from Cromer Road.

New Barnet railway station is in the London Borough of Barnet in north London, England. It is 9 miles 12 chains (14.7 km) down the line from London King's Cross, in Travelcard Zone 5. The station is managed and served by Great Northern. Oyster card pay-as-you-go can now be used to and from this station as well as on the majority of National Rail services in Greater London.

East Barnet is an area of north London within the London Borough of Barnet bordered by New Barnet, Cockfosters and Southgate. It is a largely residential suburb whose central area contains shops, public houses, restaurants and services, and the parish church of St Mary the Virgin. East Barnet is close to the M25 and the A1 and M1.

East Barnet War Memorial is a memorial to the dead of the First and Second World Wars from East Barnet, London. It was unveiled on 27 June 1920 and originally stood on the crossroads of East Barnet Road and Church Hill Road, but was later moved a short distance so that it now stands in front of the Brookside Methodist Church.

The Abbey Arts Centre at 89 Park Road, New Barnet, England, was established in 1946 by William Ohly, an art dealer who ran the Berkeley Galleries in Davies Street, London.

The Albert Road gas holder in New Barnet, north London, is a disused gas holder on the site of the former New Barnet Gas Works with a capacity of 2,000,000 cubic feet of gas. It was built for the Barnet & District Gas and Water Company and came into use in 1934. It was decommissioned around 2009.

East Barnet Valley was a local government district from 1863 to 1965 around the town of East Barnet. It was partly in the counties of Hertfordshire and Middlesex until 1889, when the Middlesex part was transferred to Hertfordshire. It was renamed East Barnet in 1935.

The New Barnet War Memorial stands on a triangular plot at the junction of Station Road and Lyonsdown Road, New Barnet. It is grade II listed with Historic England.The memorial was built in 1921 to commemorate the deaths in the First World War of the men of the former district of East Barnet Valley. It was designed by Newbury Abbot Trent ARA and unveiled by Viscount Hampden, commanding officer of the 1st Battalion the Hertfordshire Regiment during the war. It records the names of 277 men and one woman. The names of 136 men who died in the Second World War were subsequently added following a campaign by Catherine Loveday.The memorial is surmounted by a bronze allegorical figure of "winged victory" holding a palm leaf on a globe atop an obelisk of Portland stone.
