Mechanicsville is an unincorporated community in Center Township, Vanderburgh County, in the U.S. state of Indiana.It is located within the city limits of Evansville.

Rex Mundi High School was a Catholic high school in Evansville, Indiana. Its name comes from the Latin King of the World. The premises are now used for Ivy Tech Community College's Evansville Campus. It opened in the fall of 1958 in a rapidly expanding area close to what was then the north city limits of Evansville. The Country Club Meadows and Country Club Manor subdivisions opened in the early to mid 1950s in the immediate vicinity of the Rex Mundi site. At the time of the opening of the high school, the Diocese of Evansville maintained a strict policy requiring those registered in Catholic parishes to send their children to diocesan schools. While it required an entrance exam for admissions (and exempted those who failed from the required attendance in the Catholic school system), Rex Mundi benefited from the diocesan attendance policy and soon was full to overflowing. The school was closed by the diocese in March 1972. Famous alumni include former All-American quarterback Bob Griese.

Little Pigeon River or Little Pigeon Creek is a stream located in northwestern Spencer County and northeastern Warrick County, Indiana. The 1,000 acre watershed feeds marshland which, when the stream is high, provides a good habitat for ducks. It was the site of the Little Pigeon Creek Community, Abraham Lincoln's Indiana boyhood home, now the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. Vanderburgh County is a county in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of 2020, the population was 180,136. The county seat is in Evansville. While Vanderburgh County was the eighth-largest county in 2020 population in Indiana, it is also the eighth-smallest county in area and the smallest in southwestern Indiana, covering only 236 square miles (610 km2). Vanderburgh County forms the core of the Evansville metropolitan statistical area.

The Academy for Innovative Studies are two campuses located on Diamond Avenue and First Avenue in Evansville, Indiana, USA. It is a member of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation. In 2012, the EVSC School Board decided to invest more money in students who are at risk and learn differently from traditional student and open another AIS campus. The new AIS campus at the old North High School was opened in fall 2012.

Evansville Central High School, also known as Central High, is a public high school on the north side of Evansville, Indiana. It is the oldest high school in continuous operation west of the Allegheny Mountains. It was established in 1854 as Evansville High School. The name was changed to Central High School in 1918 when FJ Reitz High School was built. Central moved to its current location on the far north side of Evansville in the early 1970s. It is sometimes called "Vanderburgh Central" because of its location near the geographic center of Vanderburgh County, in addition to its status as the county's oldest high school. For many years, it was the northernmost high school in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation; it was four miles northwest of Evansville North High School. However, with the completion of the new North High School campus in northern Vanderburgh County, geographic correctness was restored to the name.

Koester/Patburg House is a historic home located at Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1873–1874, and is a two-story, rectangular, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a low-pitched front gable roof and features a bracketed cornice and paneled frieze and original slatted shutters. It has a porch and porte cochere added in the 1920s. It was originally built as the country home of a wholesale grocer.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Garvin Park is a historic public park located in Evansville, Indiana, United States. It was planned and laid out in 1915 for the city of Evansville in a naturalistic landscape style. Located in the park are the contributing concrete and stone bridges and a Works Progress Administration-era bandstand.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Highland is a census-designated place (CDP) in Center Township, Vanderburgh County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 4,489 at the 2010 census.

Bosse Field is a baseball stadium located in Evansville, Indiana. Opened in 1915, it was the first municipally owned sports stadium in the United States and is the third-oldest ballpark still in regular use for professional baseball, surpassed only by Fenway Park (1912) in Boston and Wrigley Field (1914) in Chicago.It is the home field for the professional Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League, as well as high school and American Legion games, and in the past hosted spring training for the Detroit Tigers, college baseball, high school, college, and NFL football, college soccer, and concerts. Six Baseball Hall of Fame members played for Evansville teams at Bosse Field during their minor league careers, including Chuck Klein, Hank Greenberg, Warren Spahn, Bob Uecker, Bert Blyleven and Jack Morris. The historic stadium was also used in 1991 by Columbia Pictures for filming numerous game scenes in the 1992 comedy-drama, A League of Their Own.
