Stodůlky (Prague Metro)

Stodůlky, Czech pronunciation: [ˈstoduːlkɪ], is a cadastral area (katastrální území) in Prague, Czech Republic. Originally a village (first written mention of which dates from 1159), later municipality (since 1849), it remained a predominantly agricultural settlement until the 1960s. Stodůlky became part of Prague in 1974 and the large housing estate of Jihozápadní Město gradually arose on fields in vicinity of the old village in the late 1970s through mid-1990s. Nowadays Stodůlky covers an area of 9.63 square kilometres (3.72 sq mi) and has over 60 thousand inhabitants (these figures account for approximately 1/50 of territory and 1/40 of Greater Prague population). Západní Město, a western extension of the built-up area is currently (as of 2011) under construction. The name derives from the Czech noun stodola for barn; Stodůlky is then a pluralized diminutive of that word (i.e. meaning "small barns"). Stodůlky is located at the southwestern outskirts of the city, about 9 kilometres (6 mi) from the centre. It borders cadastral areas of Řepy in the north, Motol in the northeast, Jinonice in the east, Holyně and Řeporyje in the south, Třebonice in the west and Zličín in the northwest. As a whole it belongs to Praha 5 territorial district. For administrative purposes the vast majority of Stodůlky is designated as an administrative district of Praha 13, while a small section of it falls under Praha-Řeporyje. Stodůlky is served by Line B of the Prague Metro with five stations being located on its territory (each station in general bears the name of the corresponding housing subdistrict). Řeporyje is a cadastral area of Prague. Most of it belongs to the municipal district of the same name, the rest belonging to Prague 13. Řeporyje became part of Prague in 1974, before which it was recorded as a městys. The district is situated on Dalejský potok and borders Prokopské údolí to the east. The western part of Řeporyje is an industrial area, marked by the visually prominent silo belonging to Soufflet Agro a.s. The district is served by Praha-Řeporyje railway station, a passing point on the Praha – Rudná – Beroun railway line.

Luka is a Prague Metro station on Line B. The station was open on 11 November 1994 as part of the extension of Line B from Nové Butovice to Zličín. It is located at Mukařovského street in the suburb of Stodůlky. Luka is a surface type station with an island platform and one staircase exit. The name, which literally means Meadows, is shared with the surrounding housing estate.

Zličín (Czech pronunciation: [ˈzlɪtʃiːn]) is a Prague Metro station and terminus of Line B, located in Třebonice, Prague 17. The station was opened on 11 November 1994 as the western terminus of the extension of Line B from Nové Butovice. Zličín metro station gives direct pedestrian access to the 2004 constructed Metropole shopping mall, and has zero-fare bus links to the nearby Globus, Tesco and Ikea hypermarkets. The station's metro lines feed into a large shed with direct rail connections to the adjacent former Siemens train and tram factory which was closed in 2009.Zličín metro station is located next to a junction between the Prague ring road and the D5 motorway and offers direct connections with local, regional and national buses, both public transport and commercial Student Agency Express buses. The nearest Prague tram network hub is at Řepy, reached by bus lines 264 or 180 (4 stops away). Bus line 100 provides frequent connections to Ruzyně International Airport, 16 minutes away. Bus line 380 provides connections to Beroun.

Zličín is a district and cadastral area in the west of Prague, located in an administrative district of the same name, which is part of Prague 5 in the old system and governs the cadastral areas Zličín, Sobín and the northern part of Třebonice. The name is best known among Praguers as the site for a large bus station, Metro terminus and depot and a number of shopping centres and hypermarkets, all of which are named after Zličín, despite belonging to the neighbouring district Třebonice.

Řepy is a district in the west of Prague, located in and making up most of Prague 17 district, part of Prague 6 administrative region.

The Japanese School in Prague (Czech: Japonská škola v Praze, プラハ日本人学校 Puraha Nihonjin Gakkō) is a Japanese international school in Řepy, District 6, Prague, Czech Republic. It is attached affiliated with the Embassy of Japan in Prague. The school opened on April 28, 1980 (Showa 55), and it had its origins in an educational programme established in 1972. It was previously at Slunna 8.

Lužiny (Czech pronunciation: [ˈluʒɪnɪ]) is a Prague Metro station on Line B. The station was open on 11 November 1994 as part of the extension of Line B from Nové Butovice to Zličín.

Prague 17 is a municipal district (městská část) in Prague. It is located in the western part of the city. It is formed by one cadastre Řepy. As of 2008, there were 25,365 inhabitants living in Prague 17. The administrative district (správní obvod) of the same name consists of municipal districts Prague 17 and Zličín.

Třebonice is a village in central Bohemia, Czech Republic. It was founded in the thirteenth century, and became part of Prague in 1968. It is now part of the Prague 5 administrative district, and the local government districts of Prague 13 and Prague 17. Třebonice is part of Zličín and Řeporyje. The area is 4.58 km2, the population is 461 and the population density is 101 inhabitants / km2. Třebonice also includes the settlements of Chaby and Krteň (currently unoccupied). There are plans to build a new district, to be called Západní Město (West Town), which will extend towards Třebonice. Třebonice is served by a station at Zličín, on Prague Metro Line B.

Ořech is a municipality and village in Prague-West District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,000 inhabitants.
