Drayton Mill is a historic textile mill complex located near Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The complex includes the distinctive Tudor Revival company store and office building, constructed in 1919. Other buildings and structures include the three-story, rectangular, red brick spinning mill (1902-1904) with later additions, a cotton warehouse (1918), a two-story weaving building (1928), a 1,500,000 gallon mill pond, two water towers, two pump buildings, and an information center.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

It encompasses 460 contributing buildings in a residential section of Spartanburg. The district documents the prevalent housing types for middle and upper class citizens from about 1900 to 1940. It includes residences representative of the Queen Anne, American Foursquare, American Craftsman, Spanish Mission, Tudor, Colonial Revival, and Neo-Classical styles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Spartanburg County School District 7 (SCSD7) is a public school district in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The district includes most of the city of Spartanburg, as well as all of Ben Avon, Drayton and Whitney, most of Camp Croft, and portions of Arkwright, Hilltop, and Saxon. SCSD7 is led by Superintendent Jeff Stevens, a former principal at Spartanburg High School; he assumed the role of superintendent in July 2020.As of the 2021–22 academic term, Spartanburg County School District 7 serves more than 7,000 students across 11 schools. SCSD7 also hosts several alternative institutions, as well two early college programs and a virtual learning initiative.Spartanburg County School District 7 was established in 1884. It is a small, urban, majority-minority district. About 80% of students served by the district live in poverty. 86% of students educated in SCSD7 graduate, and an annual average of 84% of students go on to pursue a post-secondary education.

Walter Scott Montgomery House is a historic home located at Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It was designed by architect George Franklin Barber and built in 1909. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, frame, yellow brick-veneer residence in the Colonial Revival style. building is of frame construction with a yellow brick veneer and a red tile roof. It features a distinctive portico and leaded glass windows. Also on the property is a one-story, reinforced concrete auto garage (c. 1923).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Whitney is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) adjacent to the city of Spartanburg in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census with a population of 4,409.The CDP is in central Spartanburg County and is bordered to the southwest by the city of Spartanburg. It is bordered to the west by South Carolina Highway 9, to the northwest by Interstate 85 Business, and the southeast by the Blue Ridge Subdivision railroad line of CSX Transportation. Besides Spartanburg, neighboring communities are Drayton to the southeast, Hilltop to the west, and Valley Falls to the northwest. U.S. Route 221 (Chesnee Highway) is the main road through Whitney. It leads southwest into Spartanburg and north 32 miles (51 km) to Rutherfordton, North Carolina. Lawsons Fork Creek runs through Whitney, flowing southeast toward the Pacolet River, a tributary of the Broad River.

Episcopal Church of the Advent is a historic Episcopal church at 141 Advent Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina.The Gothic Revival building was constructed in 1851 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.The Church of Advent is significant both as the home of the first Episcopal congregation organized in Spartanburg County, and as an excellent example of a Gothic Revival sanctuary and church complex designed before the Civil War, with significant alterations and additions in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The sanctuary was designed in 1851 by the Reverend John DeWitt McCollough, rector at the Church of Advent 1850-1857 and 1859–1875, with later major alterations and additions designed by Silas McBee (1853-1954) and A. H. Ellwood and Sons in 1897. McCollough is also known to have designed a number of other churches in South Carolina. Major H.J. Dean's quarry supplied the granite for the church, and slaves or free blacks, including several skilled carpenters, performed much of the labor. The sanctuary was finally completed in early 1864; a bell tower was added in 1870. The sanctuary was enlarged in 1897 to its current cruciform plan. Pendleton Hall, built 1912-13 as an addition to the north side of the sanctuary and designed by A. H. Ellwood and Sons, served as the parish hall for many years. The Church of the Advent also sponsors Boy Scout Troop No.1, founded in 1914 by Dr. Pendleton as the first Boy Scout troop organized in South Carolina. The Boy Scout hut on the church grounds was built in 1927. The church cemetery surrounds the sanctuary. Many of its monuments are of notable artistic merit.

Russell C. King Field is a baseball venue located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States. It is home to the Wofford Terriers college baseball team of the Division I Southern Conference. It has a capacity of 2,500 spectators.Of the 2,500 spectator capacity, 833 is made up of permanent, chair-backed seating. The remainder consists of berm-style seating down either foul line. The field also features stadium lighting.

Gibbs Stadium is a 13,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It opened in 1996 and is home to the Wofford College Terriers football team. It is also formerly the home to the Spartanburg High School varsity football team. It is home to the 30th largest college football scoreboard in the nation at 1,485 square feet (138.0 m2). It was named for the Gibbs family, long-time donors to Wofford, for their $1 million donation to build it.
