Peterborough House

Millbank Tower is a 119-metre (390 ft) high skyscraper in the City of Westminster at Millbank, by the River Thames in London. The tower was constructed in 1963, and has been home to many high-profile political organisations, including the Labour and Conservative parties, and the United Nations.

Altitude London is a collection of venues in the 387 ft (118 m)-high Millbank Tower, a skyscraper in central London. Covering over 30,000 sq ft (2,800 m2), of event space. Altitude 360 London, along with The River Room London, The MillBank Cinema & Media Centre and The View Collection make up London's largest riverside venue as well as London's largest venue located in a skyscraper. The concept and design was the brainchild of Hong Kong born entrepreneur Justin Etzin who was The Global Brand Owner. The venue was opened in three phases, with the first phase opened in September 2007 by the then Leader of the Opposition David Cameron, the second phase was opened by Mayor Boris Johnson and the final third phase opened in May 2010 by Prime Minister David Cameron. One of the final parts to open was the Altitude Viewing Gallery on the 29th floor.Etzin sold the business to the current management firm in 2018 whilst retaining the IP and brand rights. Alan Turtill took the helm of the new team as Managing Director supported in a management role and running Altitude was entrepreneur Mike Hockey and Sam Simpson.The business closed temporarily during the COVID 19 Pandemic.

The 1973 Westminster bombing was a car bomb that exploded on Thorney Street, off Horseferry Road, in Millbank, London on 18 December 1973. The explosion injured up to 60 people. The bomb was planted in a stolen car parked in front of the Home Office building when it exploded on Tuesday morning. Two telephone warnings were given within half an hour before the blast. The Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) was responsible for the attack, which was assumed to have been in retaliation for the jailing of the Provisional IRA Belfast Brigade members who bombed the Old Bailey earlier in the year. A day earlier, the IRA sent two parcel bombs that targeted two politicians.It was one of many IRA car bombings in Northern Ireland and England during the Troubles.

Thames House is an office building in Millbank, London, on the north bank of the River Thames adjacent to Lambeth Bridge. Originally used as offices by Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), it has served as the headquarters of the United Kingdom's internal Security Service (commonly known as MI5) since December 1994. It also served as the London headquarters of the Northern Ireland Office (NIO) until March 2013.

The Security Service, also known as MI5 (Military Intelligence, Section 5), is the United Kingdom's domestic counter-intelligence and security agency and is part of its intelligence machinery alongside the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), and Defence Intelligence (DI). MI5 is directed by the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC), and the service is bound by the Security Service Act 1989. The service is directed to protect British parliamentary democracy and economic interests and to counter terrorism and espionage within the United Kingdom (UK). Within the civil service community, the service is colloquially known as Box, or Box 500, after its official wartime address of PO Box 500; its current address is PO Box 3255, London SW1P 1AE.

The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) is an all-source intelligence organisation closely related to the United Kingdom Security Service which provides advice to the British government and firms within the Critical National Infrastructure on terrorist threats. Operating from Thames House on Millbank in central London, it provides regular assessments to government departments, major companies and institutions, predominantly in the transport, financial services, utilities and telecommunications industries.

Millbank Pier is a pier on the west bank of the River Thames, in London, United Kingdom. It is served by boats operating under licence from London River Services and is situated between Lambeth Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge on Millbank. It is accessed from a point adjacent to Millbank Tower and the Tate Britain art gallery.

Imperial Chemical House is a Grade II listed building situated on Millbank, London, England, near the west end of Lambeth Bridge. It was designed by Sir Frank Baines in the neoclassical style of the inter-war years, and constructed between 1927 and 1929 as the headquarters for the newly created Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI). Thames House, the next building south along Millbank, across Horseferry Road, was also designed by Baines and constructed at the same time. Both buildings were built to house offices for the newly formed ICI, created in 1926 after the mergers of Nobel Industries, United Alkali, British Dyestuffs and Brunner Mond. The buildings were completed in the aftermath of the 1928 Thames flood, and Lambeth Bridge was also replaced. Imperial Chemical House was divided in 1987 to create Norwest House at 9 Millbank, and Nobel House at 17 Smith Square. ICI moved out in the 1990s.

Tate Britain, known from 1897 to 1932 as the National Gallery of British Art and from 1932 to 2000 as the Tate Gallery, is an art museum on Millbank in the City of Westminster in London, England. It is part of the Tate network of galleries in England, with Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives. It is the oldest gallery in the network, having opened in 1897. It houses a substantial collection of the art of the United Kingdom since Tudor times, and in particular has large holdings of the works of J. M. W. Turner, who bequeathed all his own collection to the nation. It is one of the largest museums in the country. The museum had 391,595 visitors in 2020, a drop of 78 per cent from 2019 due to COVID-19 pandemic closures, but still ranked 52nd on the list of most-visited art museums in the world.

Westminster Hospital was a hospital in London, England, founded in 1719. In 1834 a medical school attached to the hospital was formally founded. In 1939 a newly built hospital and medical school opened in Horseferry Road, Westminster. In 1994 the hospital closed, and its resources were moved to the new Chelsea and Westminster Hospital at the old St Stephen's Hospital site in Fulham Road.

The Paviours Arms was a public house in Neville House, Page Street, City of Westminster, that was said to be London's most complete Art Deco pub.The pub was designed by T.P. Bennett & Son, around 1937. It closed in May 2003 in order for the owner, Land Securities Trillium, to redevelop Neville House. The pub was close to the Houses of Parliament, making it popular with politicians, leading to an Early Day Motion in April 2003 signed by 67 members of Parliament calling on the developers and Westminster City Council to protect it from destruction. It was, nonetheless, demolished along with the rest of Neville House later in 2003.

Transport House was the headquarters of the Transport and General Workers' Union (T&G), and also originally of the Labour Party, the Trades Union Congress, and the Workers' Travel Association. The term "Transport House" was once a metonym for both Labour Party Headquarters and the T&G. The building located on Smith Square and Dean Bradley Street, London, England was actually owned by the T&G and officially opened in May 1928. The T&G started to occupy it from 1926, moving from their first headquarters in Matthew Parker Street. The TUC moved out to Congress House between 1956 and 1958. The Labour Party moved out in 1980, transferring its headquarters to what later became known as John Smith House. The T&G remained until the 1990s, when they moved to a modern building on Theobalds Road, Holborn, which is now also known as Transport House. The original building is now called Local Government House and houses the headquarters of the Local Government Association and a conference centre. The local headquarters of the T&G in a number of other cities were also called Transport House.
