Tate Britain

The Queen Alexandra Military Hospital (QAMH) opened in July 1905. It was constructed immediately to the north of the Tate Britain (across a side-street) adjacent to the River Thames on the borders of the neighbourhoods of Millbank and Pimlico, Westminster, London. The hospital closed in 1977, but several buildings remain.

The Royal Army Medical College (RAMC) was located on a site south of the Tate Gallery (now known as Tate Britain) on Millbank, in Westminster, London, overlooking the River Thames. The college moved from the site in 1999 and the buildings are now occupied by the Chelsea College of Arts. The area around the college including the Tate, former military hospital and other adjacent areas is a conservation area. The former college buildings are now listed.

Chelsea College of Arts is a constituent college of the University of the Arts London based in London, UK, and is a leading British art and design institution with an international reputation. It offers further and higher education courses in fine art, graphic design, interior design, spatial design and textile design up to PhD level.

Millbank Prison or Millbank Penitentiary was a prison in Millbank, Westminster, London, originally constructed as the National Penitentiary, and which for part of its history served as a holding facility for convicted prisoners before they were transported to Australia. It was opened in 1816 and closed in 1890.

Millbank Tower is a 119-metre (390 ft) high skyscraper in the City of Westminster at Millbank, by the River Thames in London. The tower was constructed in 1963, and has been home to many high-profile political organisations, including the Labour and Conservative parties, and the United Nations.

The Stuart Hall Library is the special collections library and archive of Iniva (Institute of International Visual Art), in Pimlico, London, independent of, but located on the campus of Chelsea College of Arts.

Iniva (which was formerly written as inIVA) is the Institute of International Visual Art, a visual arts organisation based in London that collaborates with contemporary artists, curators and writers. Iniva runs the Stuart Hall Library, and is based in Pimlico, on the campus of Chelsea College of Arts.

Altitude London is a collection of venues in the 387 ft (118 m)-high Millbank Tower, a skyscraper in central London. Covering over 30,000 sq ft (2,800 m2), of event space. Altitude 360 London, along with The River Room London, The MillBank Cinema & Media Centre and The View Collection make up London's largest riverside venue as well as London's largest venue located in a skyscraper. The concept and design was the brainchild of Hong Kong born entrepreneur Justin Etzin who was The Global Brand Owner. The venue was opened in three phases, with the first phase opened in September 2007 by the then Leader of the Opposition David Cameron, the second phase was opened by Mayor Boris Johnson and the final third phase opened in May 2010 by Prime Minister David Cameron. One of the final parts to open was the Altitude Viewing Gallery on the 29th floor.Etzin sold the business to the current management firm in 2018 whilst retaining the IP and brand rights. Alan Turtill took the helm of the new team as Managing Director supported in a management role and running Altitude was entrepreneur Mike Hockey and Sam Simpson.The business closed temporarily during the COVID 19 Pandemic.

The Morpeth Arms is a public house at 58 Millbank, in the Pimlico district of London. It was built in 1845 to refresh prison warders serving at the Millbank Penitentiary.It now contains a Spying Room which provides a good view of the headquarters of the Secret Intelligence Service MI6 across the river Thames. The building is listed as Grade II and it is now part of the Young's estate.

Millbank is an area of central London in the City of Westminster. Millbank is located by the River Thames, east of Pimlico and south of Westminster. Millbank is known as the location of major government offices, Burberry headquarters, the Millbank Tower and prominent art institutions such as Tate Britain and the Chelsea College of Art and Design.

The Paviours Arms was a public house in Neville House, Page Street, City of Westminster, that was said to be London's most complete Art Deco pub.The pub was designed by T.P. Bennett & Son, around 1937. It closed in May 2003 in order for the owner, Land Securities Trillium, to redevelop Neville House. The pub was close to the Houses of Parliament, making it popular with politicians, leading to an Early Day Motion in April 2003 signed by 67 members of Parliament calling on the developers and Westminster City Council to protect it from destruction. It was, nonetheless, demolished along with the rest of Neville House later in 2003.

Millbank Pier is a pier on the west bank of the River Thames, in London, United Kingdom. It is served by boats operating under licence from London River Services and is situated between Lambeth Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge on Millbank. It is accessed from a point adjacent to Millbank Tower and the Tate Britain art gallery.
