The neighborhood of Odderhei lies to the northwest, Holte and Frikstad lie to the northeast, and Kongshavn lies to the southeast. It is located with the shore in a typical Southern Norway archipelago. The neighborhood is mostly located with large houses and some villas. Tømmerstø is a popular tourist area in the summer with a lot of cabins for rent, The Royal Family of Norway owns a cottage in Tømmerstø. Islands like Herøya, Teistholmen, and Furuholmen are located just offshore. There are three schools in the area: Dvergsnes skole (an elementary school), Sørlandet Maritime videregående school (a high school), and a junior high school in Holte.

Korsvik (former: Korsvig) is an urban area in Kristiansand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The urban area is located on the east side of the Topdalsfjorden, about 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) east of the city center of Kristiansand. It is located in the districts of Søm and Randesund, south of the European route E18 highway and the Varodd Bridge. The 7.22-square-kilometre (1,780-acre) village has a population (2016) of 16,820 which gives the village a population density of 2,330 inhabitants per square kilometre (6,000/sq mi).

Grønningen Lighthouse (Norwegian: Grønningen fyr) is a coastal lighthouse in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The lighthouse was built in 1878 to improve the marking of the shipping lane into Kristiansand harbor. In 1842, the Russian ship-of-the-line Ingermanland had collided with the Grønningen islet, leading to a catastrophe. The current lighthouse sits on Grønningen, a bare islet in the Kristiansandsfjord, and it marks the eastern side of the main shipping channel that leads inland to the port of the city of Kristiansand. The other lighthouse, which marks the western entrance, Oksøy Lighthouse, lies about 2.2 kilometres (1.4 mi) to the west. The 14-metre (46 ft) tall square concrete tower is white with a red roof. It is attached to one end of a 1+1⁄2-storey lighthouse keeper's house. The light sits at an elevation of 18.8 metres (62 ft) and it emits two white, red, or green flashes (depending on direction) every ten seconds. The light is a 4th order Fresnel lens. It can be seen for up to 11.7 nautical miles (21.7 km; 13.5 mi).The lighthouse was first put into service on 1 September 1878. The station was staffed until 1980 and in 1994, the entire facility was protected by law as a national monument. The lighthouse is operated by the Bragdøya kystlag foundation, and it is open to the public. During the summer holiday season, it can be used as a free hostel available for overnight stays.

Karlsruhe was a light cruiser, the second member of the Königsberg class, and served from November 1929 to May 1938, and again from November 1939 to April 1940, seeing action in World War II. She was operated by two German navies, the Reichsmarine and the Kriegsmarine. She had two sister ships, Königsberg and Köln. Karlsruhe was laid down in July 1926 at the Deutsche Werke shipyard in Kiel, launched in August 1927, and commissioned into the Reichsmarine in November 1929. She was armed with a main battery of nine 15 cm SK C/25 guns in three triple turrets and had a top speed of 32 knots (59 km/h; 37 mph). Like her sisters, Karlsruhe served as a training cruiser for naval cadets throughout the 1930s. During the Spanish Civil War, she joined the non-intervention patrols off the Spanish coast. She was in the process of being modernized at the outbreak of World War II in September 1939, and was therefore not ready for action until November 1939. In April 1940 Karlsruhe participated in Operation Weserübung, the invasion of Norway. She landed troops at Kristiansand, but while returning to Germany on 9 April, she was struck by a torpedo from the Royal Navy submarine HMS Truant and severely damaged. Unable to return to port, Karlsruhe was scuttled by an escorting German torpedo boat. Her wreck was discovered in June 2020 in the Norwegian trench, 24 km (13 nm) southeast of Kristiansand at a depth of 490 m (1,610 ft).

Søm is a district in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. With a population of about 9,500 (2022), it is the third largest district in Kristiansand. The district is a part of the borough of Oddernes. Søm has borders with the district of Hånes to the north, the district of Randesund to the east and south, and the Topdalsfjorden to the west. Søm is the second most wealthy district in Kristiansand after Lund. Søm Church is located in the district.

Søm Church (Norwegian: Søm kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the district of Søm in the borough of Oddernes in the city of Kristiansand. It is one of the churches for the Randesund parish which is part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The red brick church was built in a fan-shaped design in 2004 using plans drawn up by the architects Arild Lauvland and Arne Åmland. The church seats about 450 people, but it can be expanded to seat up to about 650 people.

Holte is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It's located in the borough of Oddernes and in the district of Randesund. The neighborhood of Tømmerstø lies to the south and Frikstad lies to the east. Holte Junior High is the only junior high in Randesund.

Marvika or Marvik is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The neighbourhood is located in the southeast part of the borough of Lund and the district of Gimlekollen. The neighborhood of Oddemarka lies to the northwest of Marvika.Marvika was formerly the site of the Norwegian naval base Marvika orlogsstasjon as well as the Gleodden cannon battery which was subordinate to the nearby Odderøya Fortress. Sør Arena, the current football stadium for IK Start, is located in the former military area. The name Marvika comes from the Marviksbukta cove along the Topdalsfjorden, which is a popular place in the summer for residents and tourists. There is also a large shore at Marviksbukta. The possibility of installing summer cooling equipment for the IK Start stadium using cool deep water from the Marviksbukta is being investigated.There is one elementary school at Marvika, Frank Wild memorial school. Marvika is mostly located with large white houses. There is an industrial park at Marvika serving most of Lund with a range of retail stores and other local services. The buildings along the port still bear the stamp of the time when it served as a naval base. Marvika Navy Base was closed down on 1 August 2002. However, the buildings today contain offices for different cultural institutions and a base for rescue services.

Topdalsfjorden or Tofdalsfjorden is a fjord in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The 12-kilometre (7.5 mi) long fjord runs from the village of Ålefjær south to the city centre of Kristiansand. The river Topdalselva empties into the fjord at the eastern side just south of the Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik. The European route E18 highway crosses the fjord on the Varodd Bridge.

Skålevik is an urban village area on the northern part of the island of Flekkerøya in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The village is located within the borough of Vågsbygd. The 2.16-square-kilometre (530-acre) village has a population (2016) of 3,399 which gives the village a population density of 1,574 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,080/sq mi).

Kristiansand Airport, Kongsgårdbukta (Norwegian: Kristiansand sjøflyhavn, Kongsgårdbukta) was a water airport serving Kristiansand, Norway, from 1934 to 1939. Situated at Kongsgårdbukta, it consisted of a floating dock and a small terminal building. Widerøe served the airport the first year, thereafter flights were carried out by Norwegian Air Lines. The airport was closed for the opening of Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik.
