The Iglehart House is an Italianate style house in the Morgan Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, United States, and one of the city's oldest surviving buildings. Located at 11118 S. Artesian Avenue, the original portion of the house in the back was built in 1857 by an unknown architect for Charles D. Iglehart, whose farmstead comprised the land now bounded by 111th, 115th, and Rockwell streets and Western Avenue. Iglehart's daughter Mary, who was born in the house in 1857, is the first child whose birth is recorded in what would become the village of Morgan Park. Iglehart was one of the founders of The Church of the Mediator, whose first building was built in 1889 at 110th and Hoyne Avenue on land that was donated for it by the Blue Island Land and Building Company. Due to the space required of a growing family, the two-story front portion of the house was added in the 1870s. It was designated a Chicago Landmark on July 13, 1994.

The Palliser's Cottage Home No. 35 is a Stick Style house at 2314 West 111th Place in the Morgan Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Plans for the house appeared in the pattern book of Palliser, Palliser & Co. in 1878 and this house was built in 1882 for Rev. Johan Edgren. It was designated a Chicago Landmark on February 16, 2000.

111th Street–Morgan Park is one of two Metra railroad stations in the Morgan Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, along the Beverly Branch of the Rock Island District Line, 13.8 miles (22.2 km) from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the line. The station is named after 111th Street, although its address is 11046 South Hale Avenue between Monterey and Prospect Avenues; 111th Street runs in line with Monterey Avenue east of Morgan Park. In Metra's zone-based fare system, 111th Street is in zone C. As of 2018, 111th Street–Morgan Park is the 92nd busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 548 weekday boardings.As of 2022, 111th Street–Morgan Park is served by 40 trains (20 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Parking is available on both sides of the tracks along South Hale Avenue between 108th Place and Edmaire Street. It is also available on Homewood and Monterery Avenues behind South Hale Avenue, and at Prospect Park on Prospect Avenue and the northwest corner of Pryor and Homewood Avenues.

Morgan Park, located on the far south side of the city of Chicago, Illinois, United States, is one of the city's 77 official community areas. Morgan Park is located south of the Beverly neighborhood and north of the Chicago city border, and includes Mount Greenwood Cemetery. The community, settled in the mid-19th century, was initially known as North Blue Island, being located close to the existing town of Blue Island to the south. As of 2013, Morgan Park was majority-black, with approximately 22,924 residents in 2015.

As of 2018, 115th Street–Morgan Park was the 176th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 136 weekday boardings.As of 2022, 115th Street–Morgan Park is served by 40 trains (20 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Parking is available along the west side of the tracks on South Hale Avenue between Edmaire Street and north of 116th Street. It is also available on small on-street lots along the north side of 115th Street between the tracks and Church Street. No bus connections are available. The train station building was damaged by a fire in May 2017 and subsequently demolished. Officials ruled that arson was the cause of the fire.

Gustavus Franklin Swift, Sr. (June 24, 1839 – March 29, 1903) was an American business executive. He founded a meat-packing empire in the Midwest during the late 19th century, over which he presided until his death. He is credited with the development of the first practical ice-cooled railroad car, which allowed his company to ship dressed meats to all parts of the country and abroad, ushering in the "era of cheap beef." Swift pioneered the use of animal by-products for the manufacture of soap, glue, fertilizer, various types of sundries, and even medical products.Swift donated large sums of money to such institutions as the University of Chicago, the Methodist Episcopal Church, and YMCA. He established Northwestern University's "School of Oratory" in memory of his daughter, Annie May Swift, who died while a student there. When he died in 1903, his company was valued at between US$125 million and $135 million, and had a workforce of more than 21,000. "The House of Swift" slaughtered as many as two million cattle, four million hogs, and two million sheep a year. Three years after his death, the value of the company's capital stock topped $250 million. He and his family are interred in a mausoleum in Mount Hope Cemetery in Chicago.

107th Street–Beverly Hills is one of five Metra stations within the Beverly Hills neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, along the Beverly Branch of the Rock Island District Line. The station is located at 1901 West 107th Street opposite the intersection of South Walden Parkway, 13.3 miles (21.4 km) from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, 107th Street is in zone C. As of 2018, 107th Street–Beverly Hills is the 121st busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 395 weekday boardings.As of 2022, 107th Street–Beverly Hills is served by 40 trains (20 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. 107th Street Station contains its original station house, but is unstaffed. Parking is available along both side of the tracks between 105th Street and 108th Street. South Walden Parkway runs along the west side of the tracks and contains parking lots between the street and the tracks. Although this street terminates at 107th Street, the parking lot continues to 108th Street. On the east side of the tracks, a parking lot runs north from 108th Street behind the west side of Hale Avenue. Between 107th and 105th Streets, another parking lot runs directly between Hale Avenue and the tracks. No bus connections are available.

The Longwood Drive District is a historic district in Chicago, Illinois. The houses along Longwood Drive in the Beverly neighborhood were built beginning in 1873 by various architects. Longwood was named for a long copse of trees that ran along the lee side of the hill where the rest of Beverly is located. The area was designated a Chicago Landmark on November 13, 1981. The Longwood Drive has a mixture of different styles of architecture, such as Italianate, Carpenter Gothic, Queen Anne, Shingle, Prairie School, and Renaissance Revival.

Morgan Park High School is a 4-year public high school and middle school located in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the far south side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Opened in 1916, Morgan Park is a part of the Chicago Public Schools district. Morgan Park is located at the intersection of 111th Street and Vincennes Avenue.

119th Street is one of four Metra railroad stations in Blue Island, Illinois along the Beverly Branch of the Rock Island District Line, and five within Blue Island generally. It is 14.8 miles (23.8 km) from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the line, and is named after 119th Street and located between 119th Street and 119th Place. In Metra's zone-based fare system, 119th Street is in zone C. As of 2018, 119th Street is the 150th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 269 weekday boardings.As of 2022, 119th Street is served by 40 trains (20 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Parking is available on the west side of the tracks south of 119th Street in front of the station house, and on both sides of the tracks north of 119th Street. On the northwest side, parking is available off South Hale Avenue, and on the northeast side along Vincennes Avenue. South of the station, the tracks cross Vincennes Avenue.

Beverly, officially Beverly Hills, is the 72nd of Chicago's 77 community areas. Located 12 miles (19 km) from the Loop, it is on the city's far south side. Beverly is considered part of the Blue Island Ridge, along with the nearby community areas of Morgan Park and Mount Greenwood, and Washington Heights, and the City of Blue Island. As of 2020, Beverly had 20,027 inhabitants. Sparsely settled until the late 19th century, Beverly was incorporated as part of the Village of Washington Heights in 1874 and began development by business interests from Chicago. The area was annexed by the city of Chicago in 1890 and continued to grow with the completion in the Rock Island Railroad that runs parallel along the eastern edge of the Blue Island ridge to its terminus at LaSalle Street Station in downtown Chicago. Beverly's situation along on the ridge allowed the community to become an exclusive streetcar community, which is reflected in the homes and large lots.
