Wattwiller (Alemannic German: Wǎttwillr; German: Wattweiler) is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department of the Grand Est region, which lies in the north-eastern part of France. Located near the Vosges mountain rocky spur of Hartmannswillerkopf, Wattwiller was a strategic village in the Alsace, and suffered attacks in or near it during the Thirty Years' War and in both World Wars. Nowadays Wattwiller is best known for its mineral water.

Hartmannswillerkopf, also known as the Vieil Armand (French) or Hartmannsweiler Kopf (German; English: Hartmansweiler Head) is a pyramidal rocky spur in the Vosges mountains of the Grand Est region, France. The peak stands at 956 metres (3,136 ft) overlooking the Rhine valley. At Hartmannswillerkopf stands a national monument of World War I for the fighting which took place in the trenches here.

The Soultz-Haut-Rhin Railway (German Sulzerbahn) was a 9.8 km (6.1 mi) long military light railway with a track gauge of 600 mm (1 ft 11+5⁄8 in) that the Germans built and operated during World War I from Soultz-Haut-Rhin to the Niederwald terminus below the Hartmannswillerkopf near Wattwiller in Alsace.

The Ochsenfeld is a plain in the Alsatian region of France. It extends from the outlet of the upper Thur valley in the west to the Hardt Forest, and from Sundgau in the south to Ensisheim in the north. The name is derived from the German words "ochsen" (oxen) and "feld" (field), meaning "cattle pasture". It refers to the fact the during the Middle Ages, the area was used entirely for animal husbandry, with many cattle markets being held there. Ochsenfeld is also the name of a place between Cernay and Wittelsheim in the department Haut-Rhin. In this place the archaeological remains of the Battle of Vosges were found. The forces of the Roman Empire fought there against a Germanic tribe in the fiercest battle of that time. Legend has it that this battle triggered the foundation of Mulhouse. A chapel in Cernay is named after the Ochsenfeld.

Berrwiller (dialectal name: Barwillr; German: Berrweiler) is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Grand Est in northeastern France. It forms part of the Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération, the inter-communal local government body for the Mulhouse conurbation. Its inhabitants are called the Berrwillerois and Berrwilleroises.

It is situated between vineyards and orchards, at the foot of Hartmannswillerkopf (Vieil Armand). It is 6 km from Guebwiller, 14 km from Thann and 20 km from Mulhouse.

Château de Hartmannswiller is a castle in the commune of Hartmannswiller, in the department of Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France. Although a castle was already mentioned in the 14th century, the present structure mainly dates from the 16th and 18th century. It is a listed historical monument since 1988.
