Hume Central Secondary College is a co-educational public school located in Broadmeadows, Victoria, Australia. Hume Central was founded in the mid 2000s by the merger of underperforming Erinbank, Broadmeadows and Hillcrest Secondary Colleges.

Broadmeadows railway station is located on the Craigieburn line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the northern Melbourne suburb of Broadmeadows, and opened on 1 February 1873.The Melbourne–Sydney standard gauge line runs to the east of the station, and south of the station, towards Flinders Street, the Albion–Jacana freight line branches westward from the main line, providing an alternative route into Melbourne to the suburban lines via Essendon. Train stabling facilities are located to the north of the station.

Hillcrest provided a comprehensive education from years 7 through to 12 offering both VCE and VCAL qualifications at Year 11 and 12 levels. Hillcrest ceased to exist after a merger with neighbouring Erinbank and Broadmeadows Secondary Colleges. The merged schools formed Hume Central Secondary College.The site that the college once occupied is now home to Broadmeadows Valley Primary School, The Broadmeadows Special Developmental School and the Dimboola Road Campus of Hume Central Secondary College.

Erinbank provided a comprehensive education from years 7 through to 12 offering both VCE and VCAL qualifications at Year 11 and 12 levels. Founded in the 1970s Erinbank Secondary College was originally known as Westmeadows Heights High School before being renamed Erinbank High School after the street that the school occupied. Erinbank ceased to exist after a merger with neighbouring schools Hillcrest and Broadmeadows Secondary Colleges. The merged schools formed Hume Central Secondary College.The site that the college occupied has since been redeveloped into a residential housing estate.

Broadmeadows Valley Park is an area of undeveloped land stretching from the northern extents of Meadow Heights to the southern extents of Jacana in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. A section of The Moonee Ponds Creek flows through the park with a bike track running alongside it. The park includes several sporting grounds with two Australian rules football ovals under the name Jacana Reserve located on Johnstone Street, Jacana. Also an athletics track and three soccer pitches under the name John Ilhan Memorial Reserve located on Barry Road, Broadmeadows Located in an area of the park situated in Meadow Heights are the Shankland Wetlands which house a range of introduced and native water birds, including ducks.
