Culhuacán metro station

Pueblo Culhuacán (modern Nahuatl pronunciation ) is an officially designated neighborhood of the Iztapalapa borough of Mexico City, which used to be a major pre-Hispanic city. Ancient Culhuacán was founded around 600 CE and the site has been continuously occupied since. The city was conquered by the Aztecs in the 15th century, but the Aztecs considered the city to have status with early rulers marrying into Culhua nobility to legitimize themselves. After the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire, the Franciscans and later the Augustinians made Culhuacán a major evangelization center, with the latter building the monastery complex which remains to this day. Today, Culhucan is fully integrated into Mexico City physically and politically. This area was designated as a "Barrio Mágico" by the city in 2011.

San Andrés Tomatlán is a station on Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro. The station is located between Culhuacán and Lomas Estrella. It was opened on 30 October 2012 as a part of the first stretch of Line 12 between Mixcoac and Tláhuac.The station is located southeast of the city center, at the intersection between Avenida Tláhuac and Calle Luis Galvani. It is built above the ground. The station is named after the neighborhood of San Andrés Tomatlán and the icon depicts the local church of San Andrés Apostol located just to the west of the station.From 23 April to 22 June 2020, the station was temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico.

Cerro de la Estrella National Park is centered on the Cerro de la Estrella mountain which is located entirely within eastern Mexico City, in the borough of Iztapalapa. The park was originally designated in 1938 with 1,100 hectares, but the growth of the city has encroached on it and left it with less than 200 hectares. The park is meant to provide cultural and recreational opportunity as well as to protect the mountain, which is important archaeologically and culturally as the site of the pre Hispanic New Fire ceremony and the modern-day Passion Play. Archaeological remains include temples related to the ceremony and older structures such as housing units, petroglyphs, and a major temple related to the Teotihuacan culture. The park and the archaeological sites remain in danger of destruction by encroachment, use of land for agriculture, graffiti and the dumping of garbage.

Lomas Estrella is a station on Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro. The station is located between San Andrés Tomatlán and Calle 11. It was opened on 30 October 2012 as a part of the first stretch of Line 12 between Mixcoac and Tláhuac.The station is located southeast of the city center, at the intersection between Avenida Tláhuac and Paseo Galias. It is built above the ground.

Cerro de la Estrella is a Mesoamerican archaeological site located in southeastern Central Mexico's Valley of Mexico, in the Iztapalapa alcaldía (English: mayoralty) of Mexico City at an elevation of 2460 meters (8070 ft) above sea level, hence its Summit is 224 m over the Valley of Mexico level. At the southeast edge of what was the Great Texcoco Lake. Historical sources establish that ancient inhabitants of the Mexican Plateau knew this place as Huizachtecatl. The site was very important since the “New Fire” ritual ceremony was performed here; it had a profound meaning for the population here and in surrounding regions.

Atlalilco is a station along Line 8 and Line 12 of the metro of Mexico City. Atlalilco is a transfer station between the Line 12 and Line 8. Line 8 station is located on the Calzada Ermita Iztapalapa, while Line 12 station is located on Avenida Tláhuac, in the Colonia Santa Isabel Industrial neighbourhood.The station's logo is a well of water. Atlalilco in Nahuatl means: "where water is kept". It opened for service along Line 8 on 20 July 1994. The distance of the interstation tunnel is about 800 m (2,625 ft) long because the original plan for a transfer station to be named Axomulco was canceled. The interstation tunnel runs underground through Calzada Ermita Iztapalapa and Avenida Tlahuac, with an additional access to the station at the intersection of both avenues. It is the only station that has mechanical bands to assist in the interstation walk.

The Zoológico Los Coyotes is the third zoo in Mexico City, Mexico. It was opened on 2 February 1999 to complement the other zoos of the City of Mexico. It is built on a site that was previously a centre for seized animals, which it fell into disrepair. It mainly exhibits endemic and native fauna of Mexico including two coyotes, the species that the zoo is named after.

Mexicaltzingo is a station on Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro. The station is located between Ermita and Atlalilco. It was opened on 30 October 2012 as a part of the first stretch of Line 12 between Mixcoac and Tláhuac.The station is located south of the city center, at the intersection between Eje 2 Ote Calzada de la Viga and Eje 8 Sur Calzada Ermita-Iztapalapa. It is built underground. The name of the station is taken from that of the colonia it is located in. The station's icon depicts the god Mexictli sitting on top of an inverted maguey plant, in reference to Mexicaltzingo's symbol in the Codex of Coatlinchan.

The Instituto Superior de Intérpretes y Traductores, S.C. (in English: Superior Institute of Interpreters and Translators), commonly known as ISIT, is a private university located in Mexico City, Mexico. It focuses on interpretation and translation, and it became the first institution in the Americas to academically acknowledge these disciplines as bachelor degrees. ISIT has worked along with Fondo de Cultura Económica (Economic Culture Fund), the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Institute of Fine Arts), Asociación de Escritores de México (Writers Association of Mexico) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). It is also a member of the American Translators Association.It relies on Spanish, English, French, Portuguese and Italian for fields such as automotive, Chemistry, Engineering and Politics. ISIT's library stores 2500 volumes, 250 videocassettes, 90 audio cassettes and 20 maps, and it is recognised by UNAM's Centro Universitario de Investigaciones Bibliotecológicas.

Iztapalapa is a station along Line 8 of the metro of Mexico City. It is located on the Calzada Ermita Iztapalapa (also known as Eje 8 Sur) in the Colonia El Santuario neighborhood of Iztapalapa borough on the southeast side of the city.The station's logo is a sun, representing the ceremony that is celebrated in Iztapalapa every year of the birth of the new sun.The station was opened 20 July 1994. Estación Iztapalapa is also the name of a firefighting station in the borough.

The Carnivals of Iztapalapa are various Carnival celebrations in the Mexico City borough of Iztapalapa. They are what remain of Carnival celebrations brought to Mexico City by the Spanish but subsequently suppressed by Inquisition authorities. There are individual celebrations in various communities, but for the close of Carnival, these communities come together for an event that can draw up to 200,000 people.
