Puerto de Mogán is a picturesque fishing village and popular marina in the municipality of Mogán, set at the mouth of a steep-sided valley on the south-west coast of the island of Gran Canaria.Canals linking the marina to the fishing harbour have led to it being nicknamed "Little Venice" or the "Venice of the Canaries". Its beach (Mogán beach or playa de Mogán) has a good reputation. Restaurants and bars fringe the marina and the beach front. On Fridays there is a very popular market which brings in tourists from all over the island. Puerto de Mogán has very few buildings over two storeys high and the government of Gran Canaria restricts new buildings taller than this.

Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria is a holiday resort situated on the south-west coast of the Spanish island of Gran Canaria. Temperatures in the winter remain around 20-25 °C while there is an average of less than three days per month of precipitation.The volcanic origin of Gran Canaria provides for the island's coastal ruggedness and contrasting verdant interior. Many of the rocky ravines that lead down to the coastline on the southern side of the island have been developed with holiday installations similar to that of Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria. Apartment complexes and hotels crowd the sides of the otherwise barren cliffs leading down to long, natural beaches. Puerto Rico has a sandy beach and two small harbours. Inside Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria the majority of shops and restaurants are situated in small commercial shopping centers. The Pasarela center is located closest to the beach, while the main Commercial Center is at the center of Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, Europa Center on the western side, and the more exclusive Mogán Mall is located further uptown{{ }}.

Mogán is a town and a Spanish municipality in the southwestern part of the island of Gran Canaria, which is one of the three main islands making up the Province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Spain. Its population is 21,782 (2013), and the area is 172.44 km².

Arguineguín (Guanche for "quiet water") is one of the most populated towns along the south coast of Gran Canaria, Spain. A once typical Canarian fishing village, it is now home to both locals and tourists, as the settlement has continued to grow. In 2015 it had 2517 inhabitants. It is part of the municipality of Mogán and is located southwest of Las Palmas. There are several bars and restaurants, the latter specialising in fresh fish caught the same day. Tuesday is market day (the largest on the island). Arguineguín features a beach and a port. Tourism is not as popular in Arguineguín as in the larger places as Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles. Holiday hotels, however, can be found in Arguineguín; Marino I, Dorado Beach, Club Puerto Atlantico, Sunwing Resort Arguineguín, Green Beach Hotel and Radisson Blu Resort to mention the larger ones.

Maspalomas Station is an INTA-operated, ESTRACK radio antenna ground station for communication with spacecraft located at the southern area of Gran Canaria island, on the INTA campus. It is situated on the Montaña Blanca hill and is visible from the coastal resort of Meloneras, close to Maspalomas. It was originally established in the 1960s to support NASA's nascent human spaceflight program.

Pilancones Natural Park is located in San Bartolomé de Tirajana municipality on the island of Gran Canaria, Spain. Its area is 5794.4 ha. It adjoins Roque Nublo country park to the north, and Fataga protected area to the east. The park plays an important role in soil protection and the replenishment of an aquifer, along which there are several ravines running southward which are of geomorphological interest and landscape value. The pine forests on hilltops are a well-preserved habitat with abundant bird life. The park also harbours several varieties of cactus and spurge, and a number of aquatic habitats. The park takes its name from natural pools, formerly known locally as pilancones, which remain after the runoff of water. Throughout the area there are threatened animal and plant species, and features of scientific interest.

Palmitos Park is a 20-hectare (49-acre) botanical garden, aviary and zoo on the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain.

The GC-1 (also Autopista del Sur, "Southern Highway") is a superhighway (or motorway) on the island of Gran Canaria. It links the capital Las Palmas in the north with Puerto de Mogán in the south. It is the fastest route from the north of the island to the south and vice versa with a top speed limit of 120 km/h (75 mph). It is approximately 75 km (47 miles) in length, and runs along the eastern and the southern coasts of this circular island and is also the second longest superhighway in the Canary Islands. The road provides easy access from the airport to the major cities and resorts. The resorts include Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. The increase in tourism over the years has seen the GC1 route slowly being upgraded and widened to cope with extra traffic. GC-1 does not have motorway designation from Las Palmas to the airport, but has motorway designation from the airport to its southern end. Although the geographical name for the official name of the "Southern" highway is used, this is to differentiate it from the Autovía GC-2, and not because there are two motorways on the island.

The Gran Canaria Lopesan Open was a professional golf tournament held 22–25 April 2021 at Meloneras Golf in Gran Canaria, Spain. The tournament was intended to be a one-off event and was played the week before the Tenerife Open, after that event was rescheduled following the postponement of the Portugal Masters, creating a two-week swing of events in the Canary Islands.On 5 April 2021, it was announced that Rafa Cabrera-Bello would host the event.Garrick Higgo won the event with an aggregate score of 255. This broke the European Tour aggregate scoring record, beating Andy Sullivan's record of 257 previously set in 2020.

Sonnenland (German for "the land of sun") is a district of Maspalomas in the south of Gran Canaria, set on a hillside above Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. Originally designed for expatriates, it is gradually becoming home to a growing number of Spanish residents, many of whom work in the surrounding tourist areas such as Arguineguín, Maspalomas, and Puerto Rico. Sonnenland was constructed in the 1980s, chiefly with bungalows. Since the late 1990s also some villas and hotels have been built.

Meloneras is a tourist town on the south coast of the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, part of the town of Maspalomas in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. It is mostly characterised by tourist hotels and other accommodations. Its most prominent landmark is the Faro de Maspalomas, next to Maspalomas Beach and the Maspalomas Dunes.Some of the luxury hotel complexes in Meloneras display are notable for their Canarian Spanish Colonial Revival style, partly derived from de la Torre's Hotel Santa Catalina (1890) in Las Palmas. The Costa Meloneras Hotel, opened in 2000, the Villa del Conde hotel thas was opened in 2005, incorporates a replica of the nearby town of Agüimes (the home town of Eustasio López González, founder of the Lopesan Hotel Group), including a distinctive replica of the large, domed Church of San Sebastián, which serves as the hotel reception.

Palacio de Congresos de Maspalomas is an indoor arena in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands. It currently holds 5,000 spectators and hosts indoor sporting events such as tennis.
