The Ridgefield Park Public Schools is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from the Village of Ridgefield Park, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of four schools, had an enrollment of 2,178 students and 180.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.1:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Students from Little Ferry attend the high school as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Little Ferry Public Schools that has been in place since 1953.

Ridgefield Park station, also known as West Shore Station, was a railroad station in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey at the foot of Mount Vernon Street served by the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railroad (NYSW) and the West Shore Railroad, a division of New York Central (NYCRR). The New York, Ontario and Western Railway (NYO&W) had running rights along the West Shore and sometimes stopped at Ridgefield Park. First opened in 1872 it was one of three passenger stations in the village, the others being the Little Ferry station to the south and Westview station to the north. (Secondary sources note a later opening date.) Service on the West Shore Railroad began in 1883. The station house, built at a cost $100,000 opened in 1927. Southbound service crossed Overpeck Creek and continued to terminals on the Hudson River waterfront where there was connecting ferry service across the Hudson River to Manhattan. Northbound near Bogota the parallel NYSW and West Shore lines diverge and continue into northern New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and upstate New York. Passenger service ended in 1966.

Bogota is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 8,778, an increase of 591 (+7.2%) from the 2010 census count of 8,187, which in turn reflected a decline of 62 (−0.8%) from the 8,249 counted in the 2000 census.Bogota was formed on November 14, 1894, from portions of Ridgefield Township, based on the results of a referendum held that day. The borough was formed during the "Boroughitis" phenomenon then sweeping through Bergen County, in which 26 boroughs were formed during 1894 alone. Portions of Bogota were taken in 1895 to form part of the newly created Township of Teaneck. Bogota was named in honor of the Bogert family, which had been the first European settlers to occupy the area, and may also be a blend of Bogert and Banta, another early family, with an "O" added to ease pronunciation.The borough's name is pronounced buh-GOH-tə, unlike Bogotá, capital city of Colombia, which is accented on the final syllable.

Maple Grove Park Cemetery is located in Hackensack, New Jersey. It is operated by the Maple Grove Park Cemetery Association, at 535 Hudson Street in Hackensack. In 2004–2005 it received the remains of bodies removed from the Hudson County Burial Grounds in Secaucus, New Jersey. The plaque for the Hudson County arrivals reads: "In 2003, the remains of 4,569 of these individuals were removed from the Potter’s Field and brought to this spot to be honored and remembered. May this site serve in perpetuity as their final resting place and a sanctuary of peace."

Paulison-Christie House is located in Ridgefield Park, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 1983. The house was built about 1775 by John Paulison who owned 150 acres in what was then known as "Old Hackensack." John Paulison was a Tory during the Revolutionary War and was known to have sold cattle from his farm to the British army. He was declared by the New Jersey Council of Safety to be a "disaffected person" on July 11, 1777 and was arrested for his suspected Tory sympathies. He spent months confined to the jail in Morristown, being freed in a prisoner exchange in New York City. In 1779, the farm was raided by the British, who made no distinction between patriots and Torys in such instances. In 1826, John Paulison's son, Paul Paulison, inherited the house. In 1844, David Christie purchased the property for his son Albert Brinkerhoff Christie. The farmhouse remained in the Christie family for 140 years.

Overpeck Township was a township that existed in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, from 1897 to 1938. The township was incorporated by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 23, 1897, and was formed coextensively with Ridgefield Park from portions of Ridgefield Township.On May 3, 1921, Overpeck Township acquired portions of both Bogota and Teaneck. On June 1, 1926, additional territories were acquired from Teaneck.On May 31, 1938, Overpeck Township was renamed to Ridgefield Park Township. With the creation of Ridgefield Park Township, Overpeck Township was dissolved.

Of the four New Jersey villages, Loch Arbour also uses the commission form of government, while Ridgewood operates under the council-manager form, and the Township of South Orange Village operates under a special charter form with many characteristics of village government.Ridgefield Park was formed as a village on June 15, 1892, within Ridgefield Township, based on the results of a referendum passed on June 6, 1892. Overpeck Township was formed on March 23, 1897, to be coextensive with Ridgefield Park village, and was created within Ridgefield Township for the purpose of administering a Board of Education. Portions of the village gained in both 1921 and 1926 were taken from Bogota and Teaneck. On May 31, 1938, Overpeck Township became Ridgefield Park Township. The village was named for the area's terrain.The village's Fourth of July Parade, first established in 1894, is said to be the longest continuously celebrated such event in New Jersey and one of the oldest in the country. The village eliminated its July 4 fireworks in 2009, citing the $50,000 cost in the face of the difficult economy, but committed to retain its parade.

The Caspar Westervelt House is located in Teaneck, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1763 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 1983.

Bogota High School (formally known as Bogota Jr./Sr. High School) is a comprehensive public high school that serves students in seventh through twelfth grade from Bogota, in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Bogota Public Schools. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 446 students and 36.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.2:1. There were 132 students (29.6% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 37 (8.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Bogota was a railroad station in Bogota, New Jersey, at Court Street/Fort Lee Road west of River Road and east of the Court Street Bridge over the Hackensack River. It was located on the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway Main Line, which provided passenger service between the 1870s and 1960s.

The Winant Avenue Bridge is a vehicular movable bridge spanning the Hackensack River in Bergen County, New Jersey 14 miles (23 km) from its mouth at Newark Bay. Built in 1934, it is also known as the Route 46 Hackensack River Bridge and S46 Bridge, it carries U.S. Route 46 (US 46) in Little Ferry and Ridgefield Park. Owned and operated by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), the double leaf bascule bridge is located on a navigable reach. While there have been no requests since 1978, the Code of Federal Regulations last amended in 1999 requires 24-hour notice to be opened. The bridge has been minimally altered since its construction and is eligible for individual listing on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
