Nuriootpa railway station

Nuriootpa ( NURE-ee-UUT-pə) is a town in South Australia and the major commercial centre of the Barossa Valley, about an hour's drive north of the state capital, Adelaide. The name of the town is reputed to be the local Aboriginal word for "meeting place". Nuriootpa is situated at the north end of the Barossa Valley, near the Sturt Highway. It has a population of over 6,500 people, making it the largest town in the area. There are vineyards surrounding the town. It is home to wineries including Penfolds, Elderton Wines and Wolf Blass.

Light Pass is a settlement in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia. It was named by Charles Flaxman in honour of William Light. Light Pass is the site of two Lutheran churches and a public primary school. Light Pass was previously served by the Light Pass railway station on the Barossa Valley railway line, previously known as the Minkie station, derived from an Aboriginal word for daylight. The station was near the intersection of Penrice and Light Pass Roads, slightly south of the town.

Penrice is a small town in the Barossa Valley of South Australia, just north of Angaston. Penrice is the site of a large limestone and marble quarry which was operated by Penrice Soda Products until that company failed. The quarry was bought by Adelaide Brighton Cement as a going concern in July 2014. Penrice quarry Penrice Stone Train was the last customer of the Barossa Valley railway line, but the railway has not been used since Adelaide Brighton bought the quarry. Penrice was named by Captain Richard Rodda most likely after Penrice, an estate near St Austell, Cornwall. Some sources suggest the village was named after a town in Glamorganshire, WalesPenrice is in the Barossa Council local government area, the state electoral district of Schubert and the federal Division of Barker.

Angaston Power Station is a diesel-powered electricity generator in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia near the town of Angaston. It is owned and operated by Snowy Hydro since 2014. It consists of 30 diesel reciprocating engines generating up to 50 MW of electricity to meet peak demands in the National Electricity Market.The power station was designed and built by Cummins Power Generation under contract from Infratil in 2005. At the time, it was Australia's largest and lowest-emission diesel power station. It achieves the low emissions through selective catalytic reduction technology, spraying urea into the exhaust.Snowy Hydro bought assets from Infratil in 2014. These included Lumo Energy, Direct Connect and three diesel peaking generators for a total of 136 MW. The other two were Lonsdale Power Station and Port Stanvac Power Station.

Vine Vale is a locality in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia. The Rocky Valley Congregational Church was built from wattle and daub at Vine Vale around 1865 and replaced by a stone building in 1894. It closed in 1952. The locality still has an active tennis club.

Tanunda is a town situated in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia, 70 kilometres north-east of the state capital, Adelaide. The town derives its name from an Aboriginal word meaning water hole. The town's population is approximately 4600. The postcode is 5352

Torbreck is an Australian winery in the Barossa Valley, established in 1994. The winery was named one of the World's Top 100 Wine Estates by Robert Parker. The winery is named after a forest in Scotland where the original owner Dave Powell worked as a lumberjack. The wines are made in a style emulating those of the Rhône Valley and are made from various grapes including red grapes Shiraz, Grenache and Mataró as well as white grapes Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne.

Stone Well is a settlement in South Australia. It is on the western side of the North Para River in the Barossa Valley. The current boundaries for the locality were established in May 1995 for the long-established name. The boundaries are the North Para River, Smyth Road, Stonewell Road and Seppeltsfield Road.
