Ebenezer is a locality in the northern Barossa Valley of South Australia. It includes the historic Ebenezer settlement settled by 72 Wendish Lutherans who had migrated from Silesia in January 1852.The modern locality of Ebenezer includes the nearby Neukirch settlement founded in 1854 by another group of Lutheran immigrants. Neukirch was renamed to Dimchurch in 1918 as part of the wholesale removal of German placenames in South Australia. The original name was restored in 1975.In either 1868 or 1869, 56 German settlers left Ebenezer in 14 covered wagons and two spring carts to settle in the town of Walla Walla in the Riverina area of New South Wales.Ebenezer originally started in 1851 a private sub-division in the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Belvidere. Boundaries were created for the “long established name” in 2000.

Stockwell is a settlement in South Australia. At the 2006 census, Stockwell had a population of 534. Stockwell is named after Samuel Stockwell, an early landowner in the area. Stockwell was a station on the Truro railway line from 1917 to 1968 when the line closed to regular service.

Light Pass is a settlement in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia. It was named by Charles Flaxman in honour of William Light. Light Pass is the site of two Lutheran churches and a public primary school. Light Pass was previously served by the Light Pass railway station on the Barossa Valley railway line, previously known as the Minkie station, derived from an Aboriginal word for daylight. The station was near the intersection of Penrice and Light Pass Roads, slightly south of the town.

Penrice is a small town in the Barossa Valley of South Australia, just north of Angaston. Penrice is the site of a large limestone and marble quarry which was operated by Penrice Soda Products until that company failed. The quarry was bought by Adelaide Brighton Cement as a going concern in July 2014. Penrice quarry Penrice Stone Train was the last customer of the Barossa Valley railway line, but the railway has not been used since Adelaide Brighton bought the quarry. Penrice was named by Captain Richard Rodda most likely after Penrice, an estate near St Austell, Cornwall. Some sources suggest the village was named after a town in Glamorganshire, WalesPenrice is in the Barossa Council local government area, the state electoral district of Schubert and the federal Division of Barker.

The Hundred of Belvidere is a cadastral unit of hundred located in the north Barossa Valley of South Australia in the County of Light. The lightly-populated localities central to the hundred are St Johns, Moppa, Koonunga, Ebenezer and St Kitts. The more populous towns of Kapunda, Greenock, Nuriootpa, Stockwell and Truro, and the localities of Bagot Well and Fords, also cross the boundaries of the hundred, but the townships are all outside the hundred bounds. The name appears to be derived from the Belvidere Range, spanning from Nain, south-easterly adjacent to the hundred, to Black Springs, further north. The range was named by geologist explorer Johannes Menge in 1841 because of the view it commanded (Latin bellus meaning beautiful and videre meaning sight).

Nuriootpa ( NURE-ee-UUT-pə) is a town in South Australia and the major commercial centre of the Barossa Valley, about an hour's drive north of the state capital, Adelaide. The name of the town is reputed to be the local Aboriginal word for "meeting place". Nuriootpa is situated at the north end of the Barossa Valley, near the Sturt Highway. It has a population of over 6,500 people, making it the largest town in the area. There are vineyards surrounding the town. It is home to wineries including Penfolds, Elderton Wines and Wolf Blass.

Barossa Council is a local government area in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. The council area covers 912 square kilometres, and had a population of over 23,000 in the 2016 Census.

Angaston is a town on the eastern side of the Barossa Valley in South Australia, 77 km northeast of Adelaide. Its elevation is 347 m, one of the highest points in the valley, and has an average rainfall of 561 mm. Angaston was originally known as German Pass, but was later renamed after the politician, banker and pastoralist George Fife Angas, who settled in the area in the 1850s. Angaston is in the Barossa Council local government area, the state electoral district of Schubert and the federal Division of Barker.

The Division of Angas was an Australian Electoral Division in South Australia. The division was created in 1903 and abolished in 1934. It was named for George Fife Angas, a South Australian pioneer, and was based in various rural areas to the east, south-east, north-east and north-west of Adelaide at different times including Angaston, Cadell, Eudunda, Gawler, Kapunda, Nuriootpa, Mallala, Murray Bridge, Tanunda and Walker Flat and from 1922 stretched further eastward as far as the South Australian border. It was a generally marginal seat which was won at various times by the Australian Labor Party and the Nationalist Party (and their predecessors).

Angas was an electoral district of the House of Assembly in the Australian state of South Australia from 1938 to 1970 and which was associated with the town of Angaston.

Angaston Power Station is a diesel-powered electricity generator in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia near the town of Angaston. It is owned and operated by Snowy Hydro since 2014. It consists of 30 diesel reciprocating engines generating up to 50 MW of electricity to meet peak demands in the National Electricity Market.The power station was designed and built by Cummins Power Generation under contract from Infratil in 2005. At the time, it was Australia's largest and lowest-emission diesel power station. It achieves the low emissions through selective catalytic reduction technology, spraying urea into the exhaust.Snowy Hydro bought assets from Infratil in 2014. These included Lumo Energy, Direct Connect and three diesel peaking generators for a total of 136 MW. The other two were Lonsdale Power Station and Port Stanvac Power Station.

Yalumba is an Australian winery located near the town of Angaston, South Australia in the Barossa Valley wine region. It was founded by a British brewer, Samuel Smith, who emigrated to Australia with his family from Wareham, Dorset in August 1847 aboard the ship China. Upon arriving in Adelaide in December, Smith built a small house on the banks of the River Torrens. He lived there less than a year before moving north to Angaston where he purchased a 30-acre (120,000 m2) block of land on the settlement's south eastern boundary. He named his property "Yalumba" after an indigenous Australian word for "all the land around". In 1849 Smith and his son Sidney planted Yalumba's first vineyards, beginning the Yalumba dynasty. Today Yalumba is Australia's oldest family-owned winery.
