Violet Hill (Hong Kong)

The Wilson Trail (Chinese: 衛奕信徑) is a 78-kilometre (48 mi) long-distance footpath in Hong Kong, 63 km of which runs through Hong Kong country parks. It was named after David Wilson, Baron Wilson of Tillyorn, who was Governor of Hong Kong from 1987 to 1992. The Wilson Trail was developed by Friends of the Country Park and sponsored by various private organisations. The construction work of the trail began in 1994. The Wilson Trail was first opened on 21 January 1996. In all, the Wilson Trail traverses eight of the Country Parks. On Hong Kong Island, Tai Tam Country Park and the adjacent Quarry Bay Country Park begin the journey. Across the harbour, there is a gap where the trail runs through hills outside the parks. Then come the three parks named Ma On Shan, Lion Rock, and Kam Shan. In the central New Territories, the Wilson Trail heads north through Shing Mun Country Park and Tai Mo Shan Country Park. Finally it climbs into the majestic Pat Sin Leng Country Park. Each of the Country Parks the Wilson Trail traverses has its individual character and appeal – offering, as one proceeds from south to north, changing settings with much of interest.The trail is aligned north-south and runs from Stanley, in the south of Hong Kong Island to Nam Chung, in the northeastern New Territories. Of the four long-distance trails, the Wilson Trail is the newest. Since the trail crosses Victoria Harbour, it makes use of the MTR or buses.

Hong Kong Parkview is the largest private housing estate in Tai Tam, Hong Kong. It is located at 88 Tai Tam Reservoir Road, Hong Kong Island, between Jardine's Lookout and Violet Hill. To its west is the Wong Nai Chung Gap. It is surrounded by Tai Tam Country Park.

Wong Nai Chung Reservoir Park is a park and artificial lake in the Wong Nai Chung Gap, Wong Nai Chung, Hong Kong, located near Hong Kong Parkview. It was formerly Wong Nai Chung Reservoir (黃泥涌水塘), a closed reservoir in Hong Kong.

Tai Tam Country Park (Chinese: 大潭郊野公園; Jyutping: daai6 taam4 gaau1 je5 gung1 jyun4) is a country park in the Tai Tam area in the south end of Hong Kong Island. At 1,315 hectares (3,250 acres), the park consists of one fifth of Hong Kong Island's land mass. During World War II, the Japanese encountered strong resistance from British defence forces here. So that the park preserves bloody memories from that period.The park was designated in 1977 with attractions like: Jardine's Lookout Tai Tam Upper Reservoir Tai Tam Byewash Reservoir Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir Tai Tam Intermediate Reservoir Tai Tam Forts Mount Parker, the second highest peak (531 m (1,742 ft)) on Hong Kong Island Mount ButlerGranite rocks in the north and volcanic rocks in the south form the geological composition of this area.Another country park adjacent to it, named Tai Tam Country Park (Quarry Bay Extension), was designated in 1979.

Wong Nai Chung Gap (Chinese: 黃泥涌峽; lit. 'The gorge that yellow mud is gushing out of') is a geographic gap in the middle of Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. The gap is between Mount Nicholson and Jardine's Lookout behind Wong Nai Chung (Happy Valley). Five roads meet at the Gap: Wong Nai Chung Gap Road, Tai Tam Reservoir Road, Repulse Bay Road, Deep Water Bay Road and Black's Link. It is a strategic passage between the north and south of the island, though less so today since the opening of the Aberdeen Tunnel.

The Hong Kong Cricket Club (Chinese: 香港木球會) is situated in the heart of Hong Kong Island surrounded by the hills and greenery of Wong Nai Chung Gap.

The Repulse Bay (Chinese: 影灣園) is a residential building and commercial arcade, located at 109 Repulse Bay Road in the Repulse Bay area of Hong Kong. It is owned by The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited (HSH) and operated by Peninsula Properties, a subsidiary of HSH.

Repulse Bay Road (Chinese: 淺水灣道) is a road linking Happy Valley with Repulse Bay and Stanley in Hong Kong. It is one of the richest parts of Hong Kong, with its geography and its views, and has been the most expensive road to rent a house on. It also regularly sets records for its high-value mansions.

Deep Water Bay Beach is a gazetted beach next to Deep Water Bay located to the south of Shouson Hill, Southern District, Hong Kong and is one of the four Hong Kong beaches which remain open during the non-bathing season. The beach has barbecue pits and is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government. The beach is 400 metres long and is rated as Grade 1 by the Environmental Protection Department for its water quality.

Island Road (Chinese: 香島道) is a road in the Southern District of Hong Kong, facing Deep Water Bay and the South China Sea. It links Wong Chuk Hang with Repulse Bay and Stanley. It is regarded as one of the wealthier roads in Hong Kong.

Tai Tam Intermediate Reservoir, part of the Tai Tam Reservoirs, is a reservoir in Tai Tam Country Park, Tai Tam, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong and has a water storage capacity of 19.6 million gallons. The reservoir was completed in 1907.The reservoir can be accessed by the Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail.The reservoir is still in operation and the dam was constructed in slope style. Its dam and the valve house built at the centre of the dam are listed as declared monuments in September 2009.

Deep Water Bay Road (Chinese: 深水灣道) is a road in the Southern District in Hong Kong. It constitutes part of the road south from Happy Valley towards Wong Chuk Hang. It is renowned as one of the wealthiest streets in Hong Kong and the world, with over a dozen billionaires living in mansions on this road.
