Snake Island Port is a multipurpose port facility located within Snake Island Integrated Free Zone in Lagos, Nigeria. The port covers an area of 85 hectares and includes three terminals with a total quay length of 2.5 kilometres.

Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison is a prison west of Apapa, Lagos State, Nigeria. It is named after the rural Kirikiri community in which it is situated. A part of the Nigerian Correctional Service, its official capacity is 1,056. It was first established in 1955. Paul Chiama of Leadership wrote that "The mention of Kirikiri first reminds any Nigerian of" this prison.As of February 1, 1990 its official capacity was 956 but it actually had 1,645 prisoners. A 1995 report by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada stated that it was "already infamous" for its overcrowding. In March 2018, the United Kingdom announced it would spend $939,000 to build a new 112-bed wing, in order to facilitate the transfer of Nigerian prisoners from the UK.Some death row inmates are held at Kirikiri.

Ajeromi General Hospital is a public healthcare facility in Lagos State, Nigeria, under the management of the Lagos State Health Service Commission. Established in April 1983 by the administration of Alhaji L. K. Jakande as a health center, it was upgraded to a general hospital on March 12, 2004, during the tenure of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The hospital serves Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, Ifelodun LCDA, and Amuwo Odofin LCDA, catering to a population of approximately 2.8 million people. It also receives patients from neighboring areas, including Ojo, Iyana Iba, Okokomaiko, and parts of Ogun State.

Ajegunle, popularly known as "AJ City" or simply "AJ", is a neighbourhood located in the heart of Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria. It is located in the Ajeromi-Ifelodun local government area of Lagos. Ajegunle in the Yoruba language means "A place where riches dwells."It is bordered on the west by Apapa Wharf and Tincan, two of Nigeria's biggest sea ports through which over 70 percent of imported goods come into the country. Ajegunle has a population of about 550,000 residents from many of the ethnic groups in Nigeria.The community was subject to the Ijaw/Ilaje conflict that became an inspiration for the album CRISIS, released in 2007 by African China.

Snake Island is an island of Lagos, located opposite Tin Can Island Port and Apapa. Named because of its snake-like topography, the island is about 14 km in length and 1.4 km wide. Compared to the rest of Lagos, it is less developed and mainly accessible by water transport. A bridge has been proposed for future development. The inhabitants comprises a cluster of ten resident communities namely: Imore, Ibeshe, Irede, Ilashe, Ibasa, Igbologun, Igbo-Esenyore, Igbo-Osun, Ikare, and Iyagbe.The first season of the reality television series Gulder Ultimate Search took place on the Island. The Nigerdock shipyard was established on the Island in 1986.

Apapa is a Local Government Area in Lagos, located to the west of Lagos Island. Apapa contains a number of ports and terminals operated by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), including the major port of Lagos State and Lagos Port Complex (LPC).In its legislation, the NPA itself does not refer to any port called "Port of Apapa", rather it refers to the "Port of Lagos", "Port of Port Harcourt" and "Port of Calabar".
