The New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila is the main insular prison designed to house the prison population of the Philippines. It is maintained by the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) under the Department of Justice. As of October 2022, the NBP housed 29,204 inmates, exceeding its ideal capacity of 6,345.In 2023, BuCor Chief Gregorio Catapang Jr. has expressed plans to close down the prison by 2028 and convert it into a commercial hub, by which time an estimated 7,500 minimum and medium security inmates will have transferred to regional prisons where their hometown is located and high-risk offenders will have transferred to a supermax prison in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.

The Muntinlupa–Cavite Expressway (MCX), signed as E2 of the Philippine expressway network, is a 4-kilometer-long (2.5 mi) controlled-access toll expressway linking the southern province of Cavite to Muntinlupa in the Philippines. Opened to traffic on July 24, 2015, it is currently the shortest expressway in the Philippines, connecting the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to the Daang Hari Road and Daang Reyna Road near Las Piñas and Bacoor. After being operated by MCX Tollway Inc., a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation's AC Infrastructure Holdings Corp., it was acquired on August 10, 2023 by Villar Group. The purchase was made by a company that it controls, Prime Asset Ventures Inc.

The Muntinlupa Sunken Garden, also known as the New Bilibid Prison Sunken Garden and often shortened to simply Sunken Garden, is a large public urban park and a local government-protected zone in Muntinlupa, southern Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is an open grassy space on the southern shore of Jamboree Lake that is lower than the surrounding elevation in the New Bilibid Prison Reservation. The park is under the joint operation and management of the City Government of Muntinlupa and the Bureau of Corrections.

Poblacion is one of the nine barangays of Muntinlupa, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is also the center of the city, hence the name which translates to center in Spanish. The barangay encompasses the NBP Reservation, which houses the National Bilibid Prison along with several historical sites in the city, including the Memorial Grotto, the Japanese Cemetery, and the Director's Quarter. Within the barangay, there are public primary schools such as Muntinlupa Elementary School and Itaas Elementary School, a public secondary school known as Muntinlupa National High School, and the city's sole public tertiary institution, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. Additionally, there are private schools in the area, namely Our Lady of The Abandoned Catholic School and Southernside Montessori School. The total land area of the barangay is 6.131 m2 (65.99 sq ft) of which 5.51 m2 (59.3 sq ft) is part of the NBP Reservation. It has a population of 103,104 which makes this the most populated barangay in the City of Muntinlupa. It is located in the southern section of the city close to Metro Manila's border with Laguna. It is bounded on the north by the Muntinlupa barangays of Putatan and Ayala Alabang, on the south by the Muntinlupa barangay of Tunasan, on the west by the Las Piñas barangay of Almanza Dos, and on the east by Laguna de Bay.

Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun) is a local university in the Philippines. It is one of the two public tertiary education institution located in the City of Muntinlupa, the other one being Colegio de Muntinlupa.

Tunasan is a barangay in Muntinlupa, Philippines. It is the southernmost barangay of Metro Manila located in the southern section of the city bordering the province of Laguna. The total land area of the barangay is 9.596 km2 (3.705 sq mi), the largest in the city. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 61,374.Tunasan is located 27 kilometers (17 mi) south of the City of Manila. It is bounded by Poblacion, Muntinlupa on the north, Laguna de Bay on the east, the San Pedro barangays of San Antonio and Cuyab on the south; the Las Piñas barangay of Almanza Uno on the west; and Dasmariñas barangay of Salapan, province of Cavite, on the southwest.

Muntinlupa National High School or simply MNHS is one of the public schools in Muntinlupa, Philippines. Located in NBP Reservation, Brgy. Poblacion, Muntinlupa. The school, established in 1945, is now headed by Dr. Antonio B. Rocha.

Putatan is a barangay in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila, Philippines. The total land area of the barangay is 6.746 km2. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 99,725. Putatan is located at the south of the City of Manila. It is bounded by barangays Alabang and Bayanan on the north, Laguna de Bay on the east, the Muntinlupa Poblacion on the south; and barangay Ayala Alabang on the west. The barangay is also home to the city hall of Muntinlupa and its several departments.

Muntinlupa station is a railway station located on the South Main Line in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila, Philippines. The old station was removed together with the I.S. during the clearing operations in 2009. The new station was supposed to be constructed years earlier which was within the proposed Phase 2 of the Northrail-Southrail Linkage Project that should have rehabilitated and double tracked the South Main Line from Sucat to Calamba. The new station's construction started and got finished only on 2013 without the track duplication of the line. The new station was formally opened on December 23, 2013. This station is planned to be the new terminus of the Metro Commuter although there is no confirmation and no specific date yet given by PNR. The station is the seventeenth station southbound from Tutuban and is one of three stations serving Muntinlupa, the others being Sucat, Alabang and previously Tunasan.

Muntinlupa (Tagalog: [mʊntɪnˈlupɐ]), officially the City of Muntinlupa (Filipino: Lungsod ng Muntinlupa), is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the National Capital Region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 543,445 people.It is classified as a highly urbanized city. It is bordered on the north by Taguig, to the northwest by Parañaque, by Las Piñas to the west, to the southwest by Bacoor and Dasmariñas, by San Pedro to the south, and by Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the country, to the east. From high above, the city of Muntinlupa has many large, green patches, which is unusual for Metro Manila. Because of these green patches, Muntinlupa earned the name "Emerald City" by the tourism establishment and also known as the "Gateway to Calabarzon" as it is the southernmost city of the National Capital Region. Muntinlupa is known as the location of the national insular penitentiary, the New Bilibid Prison, where the country's most dangerous criminals are incarcerated. This was relocated from its old site in Oroquieta, Manila. Before the relocation of New Bilibid Prison to Muntinlupa in the 1930s, Muntinlupa was mainly dedicated to fishing and farming.Ayala Alabang Village, one of the country's biggest and most expensive residential communities, where many of the wealthy and famous live, is also located in Muntinlupa.
