Toxteth

Princes Park is a Liverpool City Council Ward in the Liverpool Riverside Parliamentary constituency. The population of the ward taken at the 2011 census was 17,104. The ward is ethnically diverse, with a 53% white, 16% black, 9% asian and 10% mixed ethnicity population.The ward was formed for the 2004 Municipal elections taking the whole of the former Granby ward with part of the former Abercromby ward. It contains the Canning area and parts of Dingle and Toxteth areas as well as Princes Park itself. The Liverpool Women's Hospital is also within its bounds.

St Patrick's Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Park Place, Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is an active parish church in the Archdiocese of Liverpool and the Pastoral Area of Liverpool South. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

St James' Church is an Anglican church in St James Place, Toxteth, Liverpool, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. Having been declared redundant in 1974, it returned to active use in 2010.

The Florence Institute for Boys, known colloquially as The Florrie, is a local landmark and a Grade II listed building on Mill Street in Dingle, South Liverpool, England (grid reference SJ356878).

Liverpool Baltic railway station is a proposed station in Toxteth, Liverpool, which would be built on the site of the former St James station, which closed in 1917. Construction is expected to start in 2025, and the station would be open around three years later.

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust runs a specialist mental health trust and provides learning disabilities, addiction management, acquired brain injury services and the provision of community nursing and therapies services in The City of Liverpool and Sefton. It provides secure mental health services for the North West of England, the West Midlands and Wales, one of only three NHS organisations in England offering high secure services. It also runs mental health wards at Rathbone Hospital in Wavertree, the Broadoak Unit at Broadgreen Hospital, Mossley Hill Hospital, Windsor House on Upper Parliament Street in Central Liverpool and Heys Court in Garston, Merseyside. The trust gained Foundation trust status in May 2016.

The Royal Park Hotel was a three storey, handsome public house and hotel situated on the corner of Admiral Street and North Hill Street, Toxteth, Liverpool, England. It was built in the 1860s1 as a three-storey building possibly by the brewer Walkers of Warrington. A long bar ran the length of the pub curving at the end; two other rooms had no bar and were served by waiter service, which disappeared towards the end of the pub's life. The name of the pub probably refers to the fact that Toxteth was a Royal Park - although in the interwar years the name changed to the Admiral Hotel.2 In the 1871 England Census, it is recorded as being at 2 Admiral Street, Toxteth Park and in Ordnance Survey maps of the period it is marked as a PH on the corner of Admiral Street and North Hill Street - with a Freemasons' hall adjacent to it at 80 North Hill Street. However, in some Censuses the hotel is recorded as being at 84 North Hill Street. A history of the Ancient Briton Lodge records that "some time prior to 1877 a hotel had been built on the corner of Admiral Street and North Hill Street called the Masonic Arms" - although no other record of that name has yet been found.

Liverpool St James station in Liverpool, England, was a railway station situated on the old Cheshire Lines Committee line from Liverpool Central between Central and Brunswick stations. This line is now a part of Merseyrail's Northern Line. The station is located in a deep cutting between two tunnels at the junction of Parliament Street and St. James' Place, opposite St James' Church. There are plans in place by Merseytravel and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to reopen the station. Subject to funding, the station could reopen in 2025.

Toxteth Town Hall, formerly known as Toxteth Park Public Offices, is a municipal building in High Park Street, Toxteth, Merseyside, England. The structure, which currently operates as a community centre, is a grade II listed building.

The Greek Orthodox Church of St Nicholas is a Grade II Listed building in Toxteth, Liverpool, situated at the junction of Berkley Street and Princes Road. Built in the Neo-Byzantine architecture style, it was completed in 1870. The architects were W. & J. Hay and the church was built by Henry Sumners. It is an enlarged version of St Theodore's church in Constantinople (now converted into the Vefa Kilise Mosque). St. Nicholas' was built in the Liverpool neighbourhood of Toxteth in a period when Liverpool's magnates were filling Toxteth with opulent mansions. The church stands in a neighbourhood of substantial homes and in a cluster of houses of worship designed to advertise the wealth and status of a group of captains of industry that was remarkably ethnically diverse, by the standards of Victorian England. Immediately adjacent to St. Nicholas are the Princes Road Synagogue and an early French gothic, Welsh Presbyterian Church. The exterior is extremely ornate, featuring arches within arches, done in alternating bands of white stone and red brick. There is a row of three domes on the portico, and a fourth dome over the nave, all raised on drums. The interior, with white marble columns and Byzantine capitals, is surprisingly plain compared with the exterior.

The Holy Land is an area of Dingle, Liverpool, composed of several streets with streets named after prophets, including Moses Street, Isaac Street, Jacob Street and David Street. At the end of the 19th century, it was observed that there still existed similarly named places including a farm named Jericho, a stream named Jordan and landmarks called David's Throne and Adam's Battery. Some attribute the name to the population of Nonconformists in the region in the early 17th century.Many homes on the streets are Victorian terraced houses.

High Park Reservoir (also known as Toxteth Reservoir) is a disused reservoir in the Toxteth district of Liverpool, England. Water for the reservoir was enclosed in a brick-built, sandstone-clad building. The building still stands and is opened to visitors for special occasions and events.
