St. John's Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod located in Conover, North Carolina, and a member of the LCMS' Southeastern District. Officially formed in 1798, the church has a rich German history.

Claremont is a city in Catawba County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,352 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Tri-City Christian School was a PreK-12th grade private Christian school located in Conover, North Carolina, just east of the town of Hickory. The school opened in 1996, and served the community through providing a Christian education experience for its students. Later after the school opened, it no longer was just a ministry of Tri-City Baptist Church, but invited students from various church backgrounds to attend. In June 2019, the school closed.TCCS was a member school of the Association of Christian Schools International, the Southern Baptist Association of Christian Schools, and the North Carolina Association of Christian Schools.

The Bunker Hill Covered Bridge is one of two covered bridges left in North Carolina, (the other being the Pisgah Covered Bridge in Randolph County), and is possibly the last wooden bridge in the United States with Haupt truss construction. It was built in 1895 by Andrew Loretz Ramsour (1817–1906) in Claremont, North Carolina, and crosses Lyle Creek. The bridge was designated a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2001 and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Conover is a city in Catawba County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 8,421 as of the 2020 census. It is part of the Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area and Charlotte Metropolitan Area.

Concordia College was a Lutheran college and high school in Conover, North Carolina. Founded as a high school by members of the Evangelical Lutheran Tennessee Synod in 1878, it added college courses in 1881. The English Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri and Other States took over control of the school in 1893. Control passed to the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod when the English Synod merged with it in 1911. In April 1935, a fire destroyed the main building, and the school closed permanently at the end of the spring semester.

Bolick Historic District, also known as Bolick Buggy Shop and Bolick Family Houses, is a national historic district located at Conover, Catawba County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 9 contributing building and 1 contributing structure. The district includes the remaining buildings of the Jerome Bolick & Sons Company buggy works and four houses with accompanying outbuildings which were erected by members of the Bolick family. The houses include examples of Colonial Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman architecture.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Long, McCorkle and Murray Houses is a set of three historic homes and national historic district located at Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina. The McCorkle House (c. 1890) reflects the popular Queen Anne style, while the Long (c. 1902–1910) and Murray (c. 1920) houses represent variations of the Bungalow style. The Long House property includes a contributing garage, servant's house, and landscape design.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Newton-Conover High School (NCHS) is a public high school located in Newton, North Carolina, and is the one of two secondary schools in Newton-Conover City Schools system, alongside Discovery High School.

Discovery High School is part of Newton-Conover City Schools and is one of the two high schools in the district, alongside Newton-Conover High School. Founded in 2005, it was created through a partnership grant with the North Carolina New Schools Project and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. As of 2021, The school has 211 students on roll in grades 9–12.

The district encompasses 86 contributing buildings in a primarily residential neighborhood of Newton. Most of the buildings date from the late-19th an early-20th century and includes notable examples of Colonial Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Notable buildings include the Junius R. Gaither House (c. 1936), First Presbyterian Church (1878), Eli M. Deal House (1904), Wade C. Raymer House (1923), William W. Trott House (c. 1897), Dr. Glenn Long House (c. 1910, 1935), Hewitt-McCorkle House (1920), Andrew J. Seagle House (c. 1861), Walter C. Feimster House (1908), Robert B. Knox House (1912), (Former) Newton High School (1905, 1935), Henkel-Williams-White House (c. 1883), Loomis F. Klutz House (c. 1927), (former) Newton Elementary School (1923, 1930), and Beth Eden Lutheran Church (1929).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
