John Alfred Moretz House

It was built in 1890, and is a two-story, three-bay, frame dwelling with Classical Revival style design elements. It features a full-length, two-level front porch with Tuscan Doric order columns. It has a two-story rear ell and one-story wing. It was the home of John A. Lentz (1860-1925), who served as Hickory's mayor in 1911–1912.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Houck's Chapel is a historic Methodist church located at Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. It was built in 1888, and is a small, rectangular frame church building. It is two bays wide and four deep and rests on a stone pier foundation. Atop the roof is a pyramidal roofed belfry. Also on the property is the contributing church cemetery.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.Houck's Chapel has been restored by the Hickory Landmarks Society and is open for tours by appointment.

First Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located at 2nd Street and 3rd Avenue NW in Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. It was built in 1905–1906, and is a Romanesque Revival-style church sheathed in granite. The front facade features square towers of unequal height. Attached to the church in 1928, is a three-story granite block Education Building with a flat roof and crenelated cornice. Also on the property is the former manse; a two-story, American Foursquare dwelling with a low hipped roof, overhanging eaves, and hipped dormer.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

It features a two-story porch supported by four pairs of pillars.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.Maple Grove has been restored by the Hickory Landmarks Society and operated as a late 19th-century historic house museum.

Piedmont Wagon Company was a horse-drawn wagon works company in Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. Founded by George G. Bonniwell and A. L. (Andy) Ramseur in 1878, it became "one of the most conspicuous examples of New South prosperity in North Carolina" during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. One of the company's remaining buildings, constructed in 1889, is a 2+1⁄2-story L-shaped brick structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. In 2015, the building was restored and repurposed as office space.

Elliott–Carnegie Library is a historic Carnegie library building located in Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. It was built in 1922, and is a small, one-story brick veneer structure in the Georgian Revival / Colonial Revival style. It was the last public library in North Carolina to receive a grant from the Carnegie Foundation that funded 2,507 such facilities worldwide. In the 1950s, it was converted for use as radio station WHKY by the Catawba Valley Broadcasting Company. It later housed an advertising and public relations firm.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
