Sunset Terrace Historic District

Dr. Carl V. Reynolds House, now known as the Albemarle Inn, is a historic home located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. It was built in 1909, and is a three-story, square frame dwelling in the Colonial Revival / Neoclassical style. It features a flat roofed portico with pairs of fluted Corinthian order columns and half-round pilasters. The home was converted into apartments in the 1940s and now houses an inn.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Proximity Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 62 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in a predominantly residential section of Asheville. The district was largely developed in early-20th century, and includes representative examples of Colonial Revival, Mission Revival, and Bungalow style dwellings. Located in the district is the separately listed St. Mary's Church (1914) and rectory (1923) designed by architect Richard Sharp Smith.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

The Omni Grove Park is a historical resort hotel on the western-facing slope of Sunset Mountain within the Blue Ridge Mountains, in Asheville, North Carolina. This hotel was visited by various Presidents of the United States mentioned below. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the hotel was built in the Arts and Crafts style. It also features a £38 Million (US$44 million), 3,700-square-metre (40,000 sq ft), modern subterranean spa. The Grove Park Inn is a member of the Historic Hotel of America, the program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Grove Park Inn also owns an 18-hole golf course situated on the hill below the hotel. Donald Ross (who designed Pinehurst Resort) designed the original course.

St. Mary's Episcopal Church is an Anglo-Catholic Episcopal parish in Asheville, North Carolina in the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina Its historic redbrick Gothic Revival church was designed by Richard Sharp Smith and Chauncey Beadle and built in 1914.It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1994. It is located in the Proximity Park Historic District.

Grove Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 290 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in a predominantly residential section Asheville. The planned suburban community was originally platted and developed in 1908-1913 and 1914. It includes representative examples of Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Bungalow style dwellings. The community was laid out by noted landscape architect Chauncey Beadle. The Kimberly Amendment to Grove Park was an expansion made to the original Grove Park development in 1923. It includes the former Asheville Country Club, now the Grove Park Inn Country Club.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, with a boundary increase in 1990.

Manor and Cottages is a historic resort complex and national historic district located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. The complex encompassed 36 contributing buildings that were built starting in 1898. The main hotel, The Manor, was built starting in 1898–1899, and consists of a rambling group of interconnected wings with elements of the Colonial Revival, Shingle Style, and Tudor Revival styles. Wings were added to the original building in 1903 and 1913–1914. Located on the property are the contributing Club House (c. 1903) and a 19 guest cottages built between 1899 and 1920. The hotel was later converted for use as a retirement hotel for elderly persons with limited incomes.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Overlook Castle or Seely Castle is a historic house in Asheville, North Carolina. It was built from 1912 to 1914 for Fred Loring Seely, the son-in-law of Edwin Wiley Grove. He built the castle after his father-in-law gave him ten acres on top of Sunset Mountain. The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 22, 1980.

The William Jennings Bryan House is a historic home located at 107 Evelyn Pl. in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. It was designed by architects Smith & Carrier and built in 1917. It is a two-story, five-bay, side-gable roofed dwelling in the Colonial Revival style. This was the home of William Jennings Bryan from 1917 until he sold the house in 1920.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Congregation Beth Israel (Hebrew: בית ישראל) is an independent, traditional egalitarian Jewish congregation, located at 229 Murdock Avenue in Asheville, North Carolina. Founded in 1899 as Bikur Cholim, it was an Orthodox breakaway from Asheville's existing synagogue. It hired its first full-time rabbi in 1909, opened a religious school in 1911, and acquired its first building, which burnt down in 1916, in 1913. The congregation completed its second building in 1924, affiliated with Conservative Judaism in 1949, and changed its name to Beth Israel in 1950. It completed construction of its current building in 1969, and renovated it in 2018. Robert Cabelli joined as rabbi in 2006, and was succeeded by Justin Goldstein in 2014. In 2021, the congregation hired Mitch Levine as rabbi.

The district was largely developed in the first three decades of the 20th century, and includes representative examples of Colonial Revival and Bungalow-style dwellings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Beaucatcher Mountain is located in a portion of the Appalachian Mountain Range known as the Great Craggy Mountains, in Asheville, North Carolina. Its name was said to have been coined in the mid-1800s by James W. Patton, who once teased his sister-in-law, Charlotte Kerry, after watching her stroll the mountainside with her "beau". Patton suggested her eagerness to walk the mountain was incentive for her beau to spend time with her, thus, the mountain was dubbed Charlotte's “beau catcher.”Beaucatcher Mountain's elevation reaches 2,694 feet (821 m), providing views of Downtown Asheville. The mountain borders the eastern part of downtown Asheville and has three main roads that tunnel through and go over the mountain. They are: US 70/US 74A via Beaucatcher Tunnel (completed in 1927), I-240 via Beaucatcher Cut (completed in 1980), and a Town Mountain Road (NC 694) which leads towards the Blue Ridge Parkway.Beaucatcher Mountain originally had two reservoirs: White Fawn Reservoir (long ago decommissioned and filled in with construction debris) and Lake Kenilworth. The reservoirs provided drinking water to the city of Asheville beginning in the 1880s. Waters from the mountain eventually make their way to the French Broad River.
