Papeton, was a coal mining town, now in the area of Venetian Village, a neighborhood in Colorado Springs, Colorado, that is 1.4 miles (2.3 km) west southwest of Palmer Park. It is located at 6,184 feet (1,885 m) in elevation.

Templeton Gap is a gap between hills and bluffs located in northeastern Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado. It was used by Native Americans to reach Ute Pass and was an area that oxen trains traveled to reach Colorado Springs. Templeton Ranch was operated by A.J. Templeton, for whom the feature is named. During heavy rains, water pools in a basin about the city and funnels through the gap and has resulted in devastating floods. The Templeton Gap Floodway was built in 1949 to divert waters and reduce the likelihood of flooding. The city operates a trail named Templeton Gap trail.

Roy J. Wasson High School was the second-oldest high school in District 11 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. When the high school closed at the end of the 2012-2013 school year, it became the 12th school in the district to close since 2009 due to declining enrollment. The campus was converted into a center for alternative and adult education programs called the Roy J. Wasson Academic Campus.

The Navajo Hogan is a historic building and restaurant located on 2817 N. Nevada Ave. in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 13, 1990. The building is currently a restaurant.

Roswell, now annexed into the city of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was a coal mine settlement near the northern bluffs of Colorado Springs and a 19th-century railroad junction. The town was located at roughly the present intersection of Fillmore Street and North Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs.

The Colorado Springs School District 11 (District 11 or D-11) is the central school district of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Its headquarters are in that city.

Cragmor, first known as Cragmoor, is an area in northeastern Colorado Springs, Colorado, between Templeton Gap and Austin Bluffs. A coal mining site during the 19th century, the area became known as the Cragmor around the turn of the century because the Cragmor Sanitorium was located there. By the 1950s, the mines were abandoned and the land was developed for housing. Cragmor was annexed to the City of Colorado Springs in the early 1960s. The Cragmor Sanatorium became the main hall for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus.

Penrose Hospital is a 364-bed hospital hospital located in Colorado Springs, Colorado and owned by Penrose-Saint Francis Health Services. The campus includes Penrose Hospital, the Penrose Cancer Center, the E Tower building, the Penrose Pavilion, and John Zay House.Founded in 1890 as the Glockner Tuberculosis Sanatorium, it became the Penrose Tumor Institute (now the Penrose Cancer Center) in 1939. In 1959, it became Penrose Hospital. It provides medical and surgical services, and specializes in the treatment of cardiac conditions and cancer. It offers emergency trauma care as well as physical rehabilitation.

Nichols Field, also known as Alexander Airport, was an airfield 3 mi (4.8 km) north of the Colorado Springs, Colorado city between the Pikeview RR station, and the Papeton and Roswell neighborhoods.

Old North End Historic District of Colorado Springs, Colorado is located north of Colorado College between Monument Valley Park, an alley between Weber and Nevada Streets, and Uintah and Lilac Streets. It was called North End Historic District until September 2015 when the district boundaries were expanded and the neighborhood was renamed.The residential area was developed for middle and upper-class people in the late-nineteenth century. The architecture includes Spanish Colonial Revival, Georgian Revival, Mission architecture as well as more contemporary Modern Movement, International Style and Bungalow styles. The houses, built between 1885 and 1965 are generally in good condition.History Colorado, which register the district as a historic place, says of the neighborhood, "The architectural character of the district is also indicative of the various periods of growth in Colorado Springs, from the late-nineteenth century gold boom through the post-World War II population influx. In addition, a number of the district's homes were designed by well-known, influential architects of the day." It was registered by the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Federal Building, originally the Burroughs Building, was a Cold War military computer systems building on the Ent Air Force Base in Colorado Springs. It was built in 1962 to be used by Burroughs Corporation for its project to build an automated facility to take input, like satellite and radar information, and instantaneously assess its degree of combat importance. The program was designed in conjunction with Air Force 425L System Project engineers and was an important component in North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)'s command and control system. It was an Ent Air Force Base building until 1975 when the base was inactivated. It then became an off-base installation to the Peterson Air Force Base. Over the next several decades there were varying uses for the building by the federal government. After 2007, the building was vacated and in 2009 it was sold.

St. Mary's High School (SMHS) is a private, Roman Catholic high school located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. St. Mary's colors are kelly green and white, and its mascot is the Pirate.
