Woodrow Memorial Presbyterian Church (also known as Bishop's Memorial A.M.E. Church) is a historic church in Columbia, South Carolina.It was built in 1885 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. In addition to its National Register of Historic Places status, Woodrow Memorial falls within the boundaries of Waverly Protection Area, a Preservation District within the City of Columbia Urban Design and Historic Preservation District system, as well as in Waverly Historic District.

The Dr. Cyril O. Spann Medical Office, located in Columbia, South Carolina, served African-American patients during de jure and de facto racial segregation in the United States. Built in 1963, it was added to United States National Register of Historic Places on May 20, 2019.

Good Samaritan-Waverly Hospital, also known as “Good Sam” Hospital and Waverly Hospital, is a historic hospital for African-American patients located in Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1952, and is a two-story, brick building in the Moderne style. The hospital housed a pharmacy, laboratory, X-ray room, staff dining room, two operating rooms, and 50 beds to service the local community. The hospital closed in August 1973.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. In addition to its National Register of Historic Places status, the Hospital falls within the boundaries of Waverly Protection Area, a Preservation District within the City of Columbia Urban Design and Historic Preservation District system, as well as Waverly Historic District.

Allen University is a private historically black university in Columbia, South Carolina. It has more than 600 students and still serves a predominantly Black constituency. The campus is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Allen University Historic District.

The Chappelle Administration Building, on the campus of Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina, was designed by John Anderson Lankford, known as the "dean of black architects." The building name has been spelled Chapelle Administration Building in HABS and NPS reports. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976, cited as one Lankford's most important works.In addition to its National Register of Historic Places status, the Administration Building falls within the boundaries of Waverly Protection Area, a Preservation District within the City of Columbia Urban Design and Historic Preservation District system. This Preservation District is an expansion of Waverly Historic District.

Carver Theatre is a historic African American movie theater in Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1941, and is a two-story, rectangular, brick commercial building. It has a flat roof and a vertical marquee. It operated as a movie theater until 1971.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Benedict College is a private historically black college in Columbia, South Carolina. Founded in 1870 by northern Baptists, it was originally a teachers' college. It has since expanded to offer majors in many disciplines across the liberal arts. The campus includes buildings in the Benedict College Historic District, a historic area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Benedict College was founded in 1870 on land of a former 110-acre (45 ha) plantation in Columbia, South Carolina. Representing the American Baptist Home Mission Society, Bathsheba A. Benedict of Pawtucket, Rhode Island had provided the $13,000.00 to purchase the property. This was one of numerous educational institutions founded in the South for formerly enslaved people by northern religious mission societies, as education was seen as key to the future for African Americans.

Fair-Rutherford and Rutherford Houses, refers to a set of two historic homes located at Columbia, South Carolina. The Fair-Rutherford House was built about 1850, and underwent three alterations during the following century (c. 1879, c. 1905, and c. 1950). It was demolished in 2004. The two-story Rutherford House was built in 1924–25. They are associated with they prominent African American Rutherford family of Columbia. The Rutherford House presently serves as an office for Palmetto Dental Services. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Providence Hospitals was a two hospital health care system with 304 licensed beds. It is located in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, and was founded by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Augustine in 1938. The facility specialises in cardiac care, provided through the Providence Heart & Vascular Institute, which is recognized statewide as a referral center for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.Providence Hospital Northeast was established in 1999 and offers a range of medical services in surgery, emergency care, women's and children's services and rehabilitation. Providence Northeast is home to Providence Orthopaedic & Neuro Spine Institute, which provides medical and surgical treatment of diseases and injuries of the bones, joints and spine. The board of Medical University of South Carolina voted to acquire the hospital system in 2021. The hospitals had their names changed, and are now in MUSC Health.

A.P. Williams Funeral Home is a historic African-American funeral home located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built between 1893 and 1911 as a single-family residence, and is a two-story frame building with a hipped roof with gables and a columned porch. At that time, it was one of six funeral homes that served black customers. Archie Preston Williams, II was a leader in the city's black community.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
