Kennishead railway station

Kennishead (Scots: Kennisheid, Scottish Gaelic: Ceann Ceanais) is a neighbourhood in the Scottish city of Glasgow. Its territory, south of the River Clyde, is fairly isolated, bordering a park to the south and a golf course to the north, as well as the residential area of Carnwadric. The majority of the housing consists of three (originally five, two since demolished) high rise tower blocks of 23 storeys, which dominate the area visually.The area is also home to the disused farm from which it takes its name, formerly owned by Sir John Maxwell. Kennishead was originally called "Kenneth's Head".Kennishead railway station is on the Glasgow South Western Line to Barrhead.

Carnwadric is a residential area of Glasgow, Scotland. It is situated south of the River Clyde, and is bordered by a park to the north (King George V Park, on the other side of which is the Kennishead neighbourhood), the Arden housing estate to the west, by the village of Thornliebank (East Renfrewshire) to the south and by the Auldhouse Burn to the east.

Arden is a medium-sized housing estate on the south-western edge of the city of Glasgow, Scotland. The M77 motorway runs directly to the west of the neighbourhood, with Junction 3 serving the area; a small industrial estate is located to the south-east (this falls within Glasgow although is named after the neighbouring settlement of Thornliebank in East Renfrewshire). The residential area of Carnwadric is to the north-east of Arden, and the Jenny Lind part of Deaconsbank to the south, while the land to the north is open ground (formerly Kennishead Farm) and woodland.

Thornliebank (Scots: Thonliebank, Scottish Gaelic: Bruach nan Dealgan) is a suburban area in East Renfrewshire, in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. Part of the Greater Glasgow conurbation, it is located on the Auldhouse Burn about six miles (ten kilometres) south of Glasgow city centre, and just outside the city's administrative boundaries (the closest neighbourhoods within Glasgow, to the west and north of Thornliebank, being Arden, Carnwadric, Eastwood, Jenny Lind and Mansewood). The neighbouring East Renfrewshire town of Giffnock lies directly to the east, with Rouken Glen Park to the south. The original village was founded in the 18th century and began to develop after the opening of a printworks in 1778, and subsequently other light industry. Despite industrial decline in the 20th century, Thornliebank continued to expand due to extensive public and private housing construction. As of the 2011 Census, the area has a population of 4,051.

Cowglen is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow, within the Newlands/Auldburn ward of the city but geographically closer to the large suburb of Pollok. It is situated south of the River Clyde. Much of its territory is open land occupied by a golf course, and it also adjoins Pollok Country Park. Cowglen was the site of a new military hospital during World War II, which continued to operate until 2000. In the 2010s, work began on a substantial housing development in the area, based around the site of the hospital and the demolished buildings of a large National Savings and Investments regional headquarters to its north, with the project encouraged by the proximity of the Silverburn Shopping Centre, Kennishead railway station and Junction 2 of the M77 motorway.

Spiersbridge railway station, also known as Speirsbridge railway station, co-served the neighbourhood of Jenny Lind, historically in Lanarkshire, Scotland, from 1848 to 1849 on the Glasgow, Barrhead and Neilston Direct Railway.

Jenny Lind is a small neighbourhood in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated south of the River Clyde, contiguous with the larger Deaconsbank neighbourhood and across a dual carriageway (A727 Nitshill Road) from the Arden and Thornliebank Industrial Estate. It was extended slightly in the 21st century by the addition of Jenny Lind Court. Jenny Lind falls under the Glasgow City Council Greater Pollok ward and has a short border with Deaconsbank Golf Club and Rouken Glen Park in the East Renfrewshire council region.

Thornliebank railway station is a railway station in the village of Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire, Greater Glasgow, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Glasgow South Western Line (East Kilbride branch).

Eastwood (Scottish Gaelic: A' Choille an Ear, Scots: Eastwid) is a civil parish which straddles Glasgow and East Renfrewshire in Scotland. The parish has had no administrative functions since 1930, but is still used for some statistical purposes.
