Cowlitz Formation

Pleasant Hill is an unincorporated community in Cowlitz County, Washington, south of the city of Castle Rock. Pleasant Hill is located along or near Pleasant Hill Road between Castle Rock and Ostrander. The northern end of Pleasant Hill community is part of the Castle Rock School District, while the southern end is part of the Kelso School District.

Sandy Bend is an unincorporated community in Cowlitz County, Washington, south of the city of Castle Rock, west of Washington State Route 411, and to the west of the Cowlitz River. Sandy Bend is located along or near Sandy Bend Road between Castle Rock and West Side Highway. The Sandy Bend community is part of the Castle Rock School District, a K-12 school district of about 1,300 students.

Ostrander is an unincorporated community in Cowlitz County, Washington, north of the city of Kelso. Ostrander is located north on North Pacific Avenue from exit 42 of Interstate 5. The Ostrander community is part of the Kelso School District, a K-12 school district of nearly 5,000 students.

During the 2010 census, Lexington was part of the West Side Highway CDP. The CDP is in the western part of the county and is bordered to the southwest by Beacon Hill and to the east by the Cowlitz River. State Route 411 runs through the community, following the Cowlitz. It leads south 4 miles (6 km) to Longview and north 8 miles (13 km) to Castle Rock.

Castle Rock is a city in Cowlitz County, Washington, United States. Located between the Willapa Hills and the western base of Mount St. Helens, Castle Rock is at the heart of Washington timber country in the Pacific temperate rain forest. Castle Rock is part of the Longview, Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area; the population was 2,446 as of the 2020 census.

West Side Highway was a census-designated place (CDP) in Cowlitz County, Washington, named after a state highway (SR 411) running north–south between Longview and Castle Rock. As of the 2010 census, the CDP population was 5,517. Prior to the 2020 census, the CDP was split into two new CDPs, Beacon Hill and Lexington.

During the 2010 census, Beacon Hill was part of the West Side Highway CDP. The CDP is in the western part of the county and is bordered to the south and west by Longview Heights, to the northeast by Lexington, and to the east by the Cowlitz River. State Route 411 runs through the east side of the community, following the Cowlitz. It leads south 3 miles (5 km) to Longview and north 9 miles (14 km) to Castle Rock.

Longview Heights is a census-designated place (CDP) in Cowlitz County, Washington, United States. The population was 3,851 at the 2010 Census. The CDP is known locally as Columbia Heights.

KEDO (1270 kHz) is an AM radio station broadcasting a talk/sports format to the Longview, Washington, United States, area. The station is owned by Bicoastal Media Licenses IV, LLC and features programming from Fox News Radio, Premiere Networks, and Westwood One.In July 2014, the then-KBAM upgraded to a hit country format (with the Morning Show Hosted by 2014 New Mexico Broadcasters Association DJ of The Year Jim Halk (Hawk), who relocated to oversee programming), which was broadcast on both 1270 AM and 93.5 FM, rebranding itself as "NOW COUNTRY 93.5 & 1270AM K-BAM". On September 3, 2021, the KBAM call sign and the country format moved to 1400 AM Longview, swapping frequencies, formats and call signs with talk/sports-formatted KEDO, which moved to 1270 AM.
