West Side Highway, Washington

Lexington is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Cowlitz County, Washington, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 3,834. During the 2010 census, Lexington was part of the West Side Highway CDP. The CDP is in the western part of the county and is bordered to the southwest by Beacon Hill and to the east by the Cowlitz River. State Route 411 runs through the community, following the Cowlitz. It leads south 4 miles (6 km) to Longview and north 8 miles (13 km) to Castle Rock.

Beacon Hill is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Cowlitz County, Washington, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 2,211. During the 2010 census, Beacon Hill was part of the West Side Highway CDP. The CDP is in the western part of the county and is bordered to the south and west by Longview Heights, to the northeast by Lexington, and to the east by the Cowlitz River. State Route 411 runs through the east side of the community, following the Cowlitz. It leads south 3 miles (5 km) to Longview and north 9 miles (14 km) to Castle Rock.

Ostrander is an unincorporated community in Cowlitz County, Washington, north of the city of Kelso. Ostrander is located north on North Pacific Avenue from exit 42 of Interstate 5. The Ostrander community is part of the Kelso School District, a K-12 school district of nearly 5,000 students.

Longview Heights is a census-designated place (CDP) in Cowlitz County, Washington, United States. The population was 3,851 at the 2010 Census. The CDP is known locally as Columbia Heights.

The Allen Street Bridge was a bridge over the Cowlitz River between Kelso, Washington and Longview, Washington that collapsed on January 3, 1923, killing as many as 35 people. It resulted in the deadliest bridge collapse in Washington history.

KEDO (1270 kHz) is an AM radio station broadcasting a talk/sports format to the Longview, Washington, United States, area. The station is owned by Bicoastal Media Licenses IV, LLC and features programming from Fox News Radio, Premiere Networks, and Westwood One.In July 2014, the then-KBAM upgraded to a hit country format (with the Morning Show Hosted by 2014 New Mexico Broadcasters Association DJ of The Year Jim Halk (Hawk), who relocated to oversee programming), which was broadcast on both 1270 AM and 93.5 FM, rebranding itself as "NOW COUNTRY 93.5 & 1270AM K-BAM". On September 3, 2021, the KBAM call sign and the country format moved to 1400 AM Longview, swapping frequencies, formats and call signs with talk/sports-formatted KEDO, which moved to 1270 AM.

The Kelso Multimodal Transportation Center (also known as Kelso–Longview) is an Amtrak train station located near downtown Kelso, Washington, United States. The station also serves the neighboring city of Longview, which is located just across the Cowlitz River. The station is served by Cascades and Coast Starlight trains. Greyhound Lines provides national and regional bus service, while RiverCities Transit provides local transit. Shuttle vans, taxis and rental cars can also be hired at the station.

KPPK (98.3 FM) is a radio station licensed to Rainier, Oregon, United States. The station is currently owned by Bicoastal Media Licenses IV, LLC.

Kelso is a city in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Washington and is the county seat of Cowlitz County. At the 2020 census, the population was 12,720. Kelso is part of the Longview, Washington Metropolitan statistical area, which has a population of 110,730. Kelso shares its long western border with Longview. It is near Mount St. Helens.

Pleasant Hill is an unincorporated community in Cowlitz County, Washington, south of the city of Castle Rock. Pleasant Hill is located along or near Pleasant Hill Road between Castle Rock and Ostrander. The northern end of Pleasant Hill community is part of the Castle Rock School District, while the southern end is part of the Kelso School District.

Mark Morris High School is a public high school in Longview, Washington, for grades nine through twelve. In 2013, it had an enrollment of 976 students. A part of Longview Public Schools, the school was built in 1957 and is named for Samuel Mark Morris, the third president of the Long-Bell Lumber Company. The school has a partially open campus. Students are allowed to leave campus during lunch if they wish. Mark Morris was recognized as one of thirteen high schools identified as a high performing school in the area of math growth during the 2013 Washington Achievement Awards at OSPI in Olympia. OSPI assesses data from state testing over the past three years and it made significant growth during that period.

Three Rivers Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located in Kelso, Washington that opened in 1987, on the site of a former golf course adjacent to Interstate 5. Previously owned by General Growth Properties, the mall was one of 30 malls that was spun off into Rouse Properties in 2012. Rouse was acquired by Brookfield Properties Retail Group in 2016. In July 2019, Brookfield sold the mall to Arizona-based Three Rivers Village, LLC.The mall has three anchors: JCPenney, Sportsman's Warehouse, and Regal Cinemas. Its original main anchors were The Bon Marche (which became Macy's; closed 2017), JCPenney, Sears (closed 2013), and Emporium (closed 2001). The Kelso Public Library moved its main branch to the mall in 2011.The mall also has several freestanding businesses: Safeway (originally TOP Food & Drug), Target (opened 1990), and Pier 1 Imports (which closed in 2020 along with the rest of the chain). There are also several freestanding restaurants: Red Lobster, Panera Bread, and Fiesta Bonita Mexican Restaurant. There is one vacant restaurant which was last occupied by Izzy's Pizza, which, according to a Facebook post, closed during 2020 for a remodel, and has not reopened as of August, 2021. Regal Cinemas operated a freestanding theater until January 2015, when it relocated into the main mall.
