Millrace Rapids is a popular kayaking playspot, located on the Lower Saluda River in Columbia, South Carolina.

The Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is a 170-acre (69 ha) zoo, aquarium, and botanical garden located along the Saluda River in Columbia, South Carolina, United States. A small portion of the zoo extends into the nearby city of West Columbia. It is operated by the Rich-Lex Riverbanks Park Special Purpose District, a partnership of the city of Columbia and Richland and Lexington counties. It is overseen by the Riverbanks Park Commission, comprising two members each from the three governments and one at-large member. Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

WISW is a sports radio station licensed to Columbia, South Carolina. It serves the Columbia, South Carolina market. The Cumulus Media outlet is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to broadcast at 1320 kHz with 5,000 watts daytime and 2,500 watts nighttime, directional. The station goes by the name ESPN Radio 1320. WISW was formerly known as "News Talk 1320 WIS" or "WIS Radio", taking the base of its call sign from the former WIS. The latter station was the longtime sister station of WIS-TV, Columbia's long-dominant NBC affiliate. The WIS portion of the call letters stood for "Wonderful Iodine State." The former WIS is now WVOC. The station is owned by Cumulus Media, which also owns AC WTCB, classic hits WOMG, The Game WNKT and urban AC WLXC in the Columbia radio market. All five stations share studios located at the Granby Building in Cayce and the WISW transmitter is in West Columbia.

West Columbia, formerly Brookland, is a city and commuter town in the suburban eastern sections of Lexington County, South Carolina, United States. According to the 2010 census, the population was 14,988, and the 2019 population estimate was 17,998. West Columbia is bordered to the east by Columbia, the state capital, across the Congaree River. It is near Columbia's city center or downtown district as well as the South Carolina State House and the Congaree Vista, known locally as "the Vista." The city is bordered to the south by its sister suburb, Cayce. A small portion of the city borders the town of Lexington to the east. West Columbia is part of the greater Columbia, SC metropolitan statistical area.

The Saluda River is a principal tributary of the Congaree River, about 200 mi (320 km) long, in northern and western South Carolina in the United States. Via the Congaree River, it is part of the watershed of the Santee River, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean.

Dutch Square is an enclosed shopping mall located in the city of Columbia, South Carolina. Currently, it features more than forty stores and restaurants, as well an AMC movie theater. Its anchor stores are Burlington Coat Factory and Office Depot.

Gunter-Summers House, also known as the Henry Jacob Summers House, is a historic home located at West Columbia, Lexington County, South Carolina. It was built in 1895, and is an I-house with Queen Anne style decorative elements with an Eastlake theme, notably the geometric banded frieze and geometric stained glass doors with running trim. It is a two-story, frame dwelling and has weatherboard siding and a brick pier foundation. The front façade features a two-tiered, full-width front porch. Also on the property are a barn (c. 1900) and a smokehouse (c. 1910) with a braced overhanging front gable.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The Broad River is a principal tributary of the Congaree River, about 150 miles (240 km) long, in western North Carolina and northern South Carolina in the United States. Via the Congaree, it is part of the watershed of the Santee River, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Columbia Canal is the surviving canal of a series of canals built by the State of South Carolina in 1824 using the labor of indentured Irishmen to provide direct water routes between the upstate settlements and the towns on the Fall Line. It is on the Congaree and Broad rivers in Columbia, South Carolina. It is the focal point of the Riverfront Park in Columbia. The canal is now used to generate hydroelectric power by the South Carolina Electric & Gas Co.The Columbia Canal is on the National Register of Historic Places, No. 79002392. Randolph Cemetery is a historic cemetery for African-Americans in Columbia, South Carolina. It was established in 1872 and expanded in 1899. It was named for Benjamin F. Randolph (1820–1868), who was reburied at the cemetery in 1871. Randolph was a militia leader protecting African Americans when he was assassinated. A memorial in his honor and for other African-American leaders killed was erected. Gravemarkers include both manufactured and vernacular homemade varieties. The cemetery holds eight Reconstruction Era state legislators. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Elmwood Cemetery is a historic rural cemetery located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was established in 1854, and expanded in 1921. The older section is heavily wooded and has a section devoted to Confederate dead.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Still Hopes, also known as the Gabriel Alexander Guignard House and South Carolina Episcopal Home, is an historic home located at Cayce, Lexington County, South Carolina. It was built in 1910, and is a two-story, brick, Georgian Revival mansion with a truncated hip roof. The front façade features a two-story, flat roofed portico supported by paired Ionic order columns. It has a one-story, ornamented wraparound porch. In 1977, it was expanded and renovated to convert the mansion for use as an Episcopal retirement home. It was built as a residence for Gabriel Alexander Guignard (1860-1926), and the red brick for construction was manufactured by Guignard Brick Works.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
